Things are starting to trickle in a little faster.
UCSF, UPMC, Cornell, and Brigham. So, do I get to meet the great Andy Milonakis? 🙂
Depends on if our schedules overlap. I have no idea when interviews start (anyone care to share?) here. I guess I could ask the chief but I'm not particularly motivated to ask

Actually, I think I might have asked him last friday at the bar but I got drunk and forgot.
I do know that there is going to be a signup sheet that will go around where residents can sign up to take interviewees out to lunch. The signup sheet doesn't list interviewees' names, but it does state which school the interviewee is coming from. I'll plan to sign up for some lunches so if our paths meet and I sign up for a date on which you happen to be here, we'll meet.
When you come here, you will likely to be interviewing with at least one person...when I interviewed here last January, I interviewed with one other person. One fellow and one first-year resident took us out to lunch. Also feel free to ask Margarita to show you to the residents' room after your interviews so that you can shoot the **** with more residents. I did this and I was glad I did.
I highly encourage you to talk to as many residents as possible (time permitting...if you have to leave early or catch a flight, that's cool ya know). There is a good balance of clinical-oriented folks and lab-oriented folks here. It's not the Brigham of the Cotran era where almost everyone was lab-bound. We can tell you the pros and cons of the program from our respective perspectives...different people rave and bitch about different things.
Anyways, some monkey on this forum asked if I'd take people out for a beer. Well, since I am nice man with happy feelings all of the time (quote?), I'm always willing to take people to a neutral site (i.e., some bar I guess) to give more information about our program over a beer (if you drink, I'll buy you some brew...if you don't, I'll buy you a Zima or a Coke). Hell, you're day at Brigham is gonna last all day so you'll probably be sick of being in a hospital at the end of the day.
Again, as I said in a previous post, you WILL be evaluated during lunch. I did NOT know this. In fact, I was under the impression that we were not being evaluated during lunch. I found out to the contrary when I found out that the girl who interviewed with me got dinged cuz she told some story about how she puked during her first autopsy...this is according to the guy who took us out to lunch. In his words, that was "poor form." Why do I care? F*ck if I know if she said that...**** I don't even remember the conversation except for the fact that she did most of the talking. But anyways, there ya have it.
That's why I'm kinda hesitant to even go out to these lunches...I think you and I will engage in a more frank, informative conversation with each other in a situation when you are NOT being evaluated. If we talk after your interview day is over...everything that contributes to your interview "score" is all set in stone already. You're done. So you can breathe a sigh of relief and we can have a more elaborate conversation. Even if you impress me by doing a kegstand, I can't increase your interview "score."
CONGRATS TO ALL OF YOU ON YOUR INTERVIEWS!
To the rest of you who are still waiting, no need to panic. It's still early October.
