According to the letter (I actually just read it again for the 100th time, I'm not obsessive or anything 🙄), they will start calling on the 22nd. So I think we get our ranks sometime between the 15th and the 22nd. It seems like we would get ranks before they start calling people on the 22nd. Assuming there isn't flood of alternates emailing them last minute with confirmations on the 15th (seriously, who would do that?:scared:), I hope they will be able to nail down our positions quickly after the deadline. While I realize it's highly unlikely they will be sending ranks out on the 15th...I know I will be checking my email all day:laugh:

I've seen 4 OOS that appear to have declined (out of the 5 I saw on SDN that were accepted), and 1 contract who is going elsewhere.

And lots of alternates taking their names off because they got accepted elsewhere.

I hope so:xf:!!!! I also know someone whose not on SDN who declined their spot as well, so thats at least 5 spots we have a shot at 🙂
I am getting way too excited, we've waited so long since February 😀! Fingers crossed we all get good ranks and get to be classmates!!!:luck:
 
I am also on the waitlist (OOS). Hopefully we all hear good news on the 15th and even better news on the 22nd!!

Last year, they got ranks on the 19th (which was a Monday) and started calling on the 20th.

I'm hoping for the 18th (also a Monday), but they might need that day to go through the pile of mail from people who sent stuff in last minute.

They also said they won't start calling until the 22nd (I think) and that is next Friday. I am hoping they don't really need a full week to figure things out.
If this year is similar to past years, if your # is above #40, you are probably going to be getting a call.

I'm hoping for the 18th too😀, although I bet they will probably use that day to sort through everything, maybe the 19th again:xf:. I also noticed on their site (I'm REALLY struggling to focus on anything else😳) that next years accepted applicants just have to have their decision postmarked by the April 16th. Not sure if that was the case this year or not, but if so I could see why they're waiting until the 22nd.

All I know is that my number was "about half way" in February. I hope we all get calls, and sooner...rather than later 🙂

Does anyone know if they asked for intentions from waitlisted applicants last year? I couldn't find anything on their website about it. Is it possible that they asked for intentions so that they didn't have to call 60 people in 5 days like last year lol? Either way, I'm rooting for all of us to be in the top 20, forget 40 🙂

I "think" when I was looking at last years thread someone posted saying there was 106 ppl on the waitlist and then the waitlist survivors thread went to #57. I think the adcoms suggested to someone there were 200ish people on the initial waitlist, drforwhiskers? So if I'm remembering right😉, then they might have done it last year?

I have no idea how many people there are. When I called she didn't give me any indication as to how many people were on the list. Last year the person who was told they were "exactly half way" winded up being around number 50 which makes sense for a list of 106.

Ugh. I'm sick of waiting. I need to stop speculating, haha 🙂

It may be the post-virology-brain-dead-ness, but for some reason this isn't computing... if you mean whether they asked waitlisted applicants to accept or decline their spot on the waitlist, then yes. 99.9% sure they do that every year... If not then I have no idea what you mean.

And just be patient... the 22nd will be here in a flash 🙂

So basically, the list could have started at 200 and decreased to 100. Aye aye aye. At least I'll be nice and busy this weekend with Ag Awareness Day and my poor little doggie girl that tore her other ACL. Yayy and boo 😳
 
Good luck guys! I really really liked Iowa but got into my IS so pulled myself off the waitlist a while back (I was in a really good position on it) - hopefully one of you gets that spot! :xf::xf::xf: for good news for everyone!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that Brenda is starting to call people off the waitlist! I just got called a few minutes ago and I was #7 on the list (I got into my IS, so I will probably decline).

Just wanted to let yall know that I declined my OOS spot, which sucks because I really loved Iowa 🙁 (I just couldn't turn down that IS tuition!) Yeah, I had to ask her what my rank was since my supplemental app didn't have it posted (it's up now though!) Good luck everybody!

Well, I almost made the top 50 🙄. I'm thankful to be as close as I am😍, last years thread says they took up to number 57, which gives me hope.

Hey don't stress, we've come along ways and I still think we are going to get in🙂. It's awesome that we've made it this far, just making the waitlist is an awesome accomplishment. We just have to stay strong and wait some more 😛...oh the waiting game🙄
 
I honestly think you guys will get in. I was on WL with ISU last year and by the end they had called past number 70 on the list and the year before that I heard that they called past number 90. I know you will hear good news.

I also heard that they usually get though the mid 70's, so those of you just outside of top 50 should hear some awesome news! I am just inside top 30 and couldn't be happier! 🙂

They may not have updated your page yet. I think they might be going in rank order (like they did alphabetical for February 15th).

For some reason, I think our numbers are similar to where they were in February. You will have to let us know when they put yours up!
