I really, really like this concept. Would those with invites would be willing to list their state of residency?
 
As posted on the ISU website there is still the weekend of Feb 6 and 7th for interviews. WE CAN NOT GIVE UP! There is another round yet to come!

Texas. Got Jan 8th - 9th weekend.
 
Honestly, I'm starting to think it's pointless to try too hard to make much sense of the admissions process! They'll throw a dart at your application sooner or later. Good luck to those of you waiting.
 
Did anyone get an interview confirmation with their interview time/date?

Not yet. How did ya'll do the RSVP? I put it in a Word document and attached that. Maybe I should've just filled it out in text format via e-mail? They didn't specify and the form looked like it was made for Word so....

Anyhow I hope they get back to us tomorrow. I realllly need to know the date and time so I can book flights, rent a car, and find a roof.

I copy and pasted it onto an e-mail. I'm sure either way is fine.

yep.....I have a notice from when they asked for my AP scores just saying that they asked for my scores and then received them. But thats it.
 
Mine hasn't been updated since 9/3 when they got my transcripts. I'm pullin' for Iowa, come on baby! :xf:
 
hahaha no its been a while since i played bantams... the bantam is my school mascot and my hockey number is 17

i guess that kind of gives away my identity... the bantam is not the most popular mascot 😀
 
yeah mine says "status" up at the top left. and i thought i could click on that before and it would take me to a different page, now it doesnt. whats the deal? does that mean my application is in review?
 
It was updated on 12/22 with a box at the top that said "Application Denied. Letter sent 12/22." It was pretty obvious 😉
 
There will be one more interview spot available on Monday! I got my Tufts letter today so I am withdrawing from ISU... I hope one of you gets my spot! Good Luck!

Has anyone got confirmation back about interviews? I hope they go in on Monday to do that, because I don't want it to be 6 days before my interview (Jan 2) and having to book flights and what not. Plus flight fees tend to cost more the more immediately you need them.

Hi Guys! If I remember correctly, the interview confirmations (date, time, etc.) are supposed to get sent out on 12/28 by email (this is also when your status page is supposed to update--for interviews this "round" anyways.)

I got an email confirmation on 12/22 with the time of my interview and the itinerary/hotel information and such for the Jan 8th weekend set of interviews anyway

however.. i have decided to withdraw my application so heres to hoping one of you still waiting gets my interview spot 🙂

Hey all..

Congrats to all those that have heard already. Does anyone know when all the invites/rejections are slated to be finished? Just curious because I haven't heard anything (on portal, at least) and I know rejections are already coming out.
 
I just got this email from ISU (I'm in the Jan 23-24 group):
The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University has received your admissions interview RSVP. Shortly after the first of the year you will be receiving your interview itinerary which will include information on hotels and transportation. If you have any questions feel free to email me. No, they didn't tell me which date, so I guess it will be in the itinerary. I ranked the dates as Sat PM 1st, Sun AM 2nd.
 
Iowa sent me the interview details today, and it has your date in the e-mail.

Also includes several hotel options, coupon codes for renting a car, and shuttle information. By the by if you're renting a car using their coupon codes, it'll ask for a PIN number. Use 'ISU'. They don't tell you this in the e-mail so I just guessed and it seems to have worked.


I do wish they had let me know BEFORE the Christmas break, as my airline fees have doubled since then, but I guess you take what you can get.

Is everyone planning to rent a car? I said no in my RSVP. I'm only 22, and car rental agencies tend to charge an extra fee for people under 25. It looks like it shouldn't be a problem to catch a shuttle bus from the Des Moines airport to Ames, and there are city buses for getting around town. Any thoughts on the public transportation in Ames? I'm not planning to be in town for long, probably just one or two nights.
 
I'm renting a car. It's $300 + 50 for car and say another 30 for gas to fly into KC, MO on Southwest vs $550 to fly into Des Moines, IA on any other airline.

Though this is from Texas, so flights may be less expensive from other areas.
 
I just looked, and there's a big difference between the two airports coming from D.C., too. It would end up being something like a $100 difference, counting the cost for a young upstart 😉 to rent a car. I talked to my parents (who are paying for much of my interview expenses), and their thoughts were that it would be too much extra stress to be worth the money -- my first time renting a car, possibly getting lost, driving almost 4 hours in the winter w/possible bad weather, worrying about getting it back and being on time for the flight, etc. I don't have a lot of extra time to get back after the interview, since I have class at 8 AM on January 25.

For those of you who have morning interviews, What time do the info sessions and tour end in the afternoon. I haven't gotten my itinerary yet and Im trying to see if I can fly home after the tour
 
Is anyone else interviewing 1/8 or 1/9?

I got the invite email on 12/18 and RSVP'd already. The confirmation email said that I can expect my itinerary (with interview time) the week of 12/28. Just wondering if anyone else is freaking out--the interviews are a little more than a week away and still no itinerary! Why so little time between invites, interview information (itinerary), and interviews for Jan 8 and 9, but a HUGE heads up for the 1/23 group?
 
I'm interviewing on the 9th and they've given me my itinerary already. Might try calling them tomorrow.
 
I'm also interviewing on the 8th and got my itinerary on Dec. 22nd so I would definitely try contacting them to get some information about that.
 
I have an interview on the 9th and got my itinerary right away. Anyone have it in the morning with a check-in at 7am...would love to meet some people.
 
My check-in is at 7:15 on the 9th and an interview at 8 am

Is anyone bringing someone with them?

Don't worry Bearby I havn't heard either. It sucks to be waiting around while others are getting emails but keep your chin up because there are still more interviews for us to receive!
