KCOM summer quarters

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yes. there is a 7 week 'break' during the summer after third quarter, two weeks that are spent doing precepotorship, and then five weeks of nothing. Then you come back for the fourth quarter, take off a week, and then start 2nd year.

Hi again Aaron...

you got all the answers to my questions today 😀 . So even after the second year, you have classes in the summer quarter? doesn't that make it really hard to study for the boards, especially if you're taking both comlex and usmle's?

I noticed kcom has the most rigorous curriculum between azcom and dmu. I mean even your winter breaks are a week or so. Do you think you guys are better prepared for the osteo and allo boards?

Thanks!!!

I am now a 4th year at KCOM. Things have changed a bit - but we got off 2 weeks to study for boards, got the week of boards off, came back for several weeks to finish up some clinical classes....I can't remember what they were. During that time, we also did all of our workshops - where we learned how to intubate, put in central lines, ABGs, etc...We also took ACLS during this time. When that little span of time was over, we had about a month off before starting 3rd year.
