If you go on DO explorer you can find pretty much all the info you'll need for any given school.

I don't see them having any issue with that, and I think emailing them sooner rather than later is the best option if that's what you want. It is perfectly reasonable to defer to next year and isn't an uncommon practice. Schools would much rather have you focused and ready to succeed.
