Made you LOOK
😀!! I'm totally pulling for you guys, BTW.
I wake up every AM anxious to see if you've heard!!
Y'all, i seriously don't know what to do about this situation. Let's presume I get the deferral, i am still uncertain

. On one hand, I feel like i'm being silly and may regret it if i don't just suck it up and go. I feel confident that my pooches will be safe and cared for as good as i could ask for.
Tiempo, you nailed it - I freak out thinking, "will they recognize me? Will they act indifferent towards me? Will they think 'why did she leave us?'" I know in my heart of hearts that yes, that may be the case at the reunion, but life will get back to normal. They are 3 and 4 and both are pretty darn attached to me, but the 4yr old is my velcro. I feel like either he or i will die of heartache over this. Ever since i got them, i've worked from home so i've been with them 24/7 unless i was traveling. Velcro is used to either sitting on my lap all day or sleeping in his bed in my office. Arghhh....is it just me??
Staying in the US another year is not all bad - i have one more year to work and save some dinero
😀 and i can finally move back East and spend some real quality time with my family before hopping the pond. I think i might regret it if i don't - i've been apart from the family for the last 15 years.
And going in the Fall without the dogs is not theoretically all bad either as
ps2 (what in the world do all of your initials stand for??) mentioned - i could get settled in a new culture, country and lifestyle without worrying about them. It would allow me to hopefully meet a lot of my new classmates and be more free to go out and make those lasting friendships early on. I would also be set into a routine and feel more comfortable bringing them over once I was all moved in.
Guys, i'm sorry to belabor the issue, but it is just eating me up. I want to know that i'm making the right decison, cause it's a big one. Once I hear back from Geraldine, i may create a new thread on the forum to get some more input even though i will probably just get more confused and in the end only i know what is best
😕.
Oh, one other potential monkey wrench.... i asked Geraldine to let me know what i could do to be considered for GEP next year. What if they come back and tell me i should take X classes, do well and get some experience? That then sounds really appealing to stay back the year if i had a reasonably good chance of getting into the GEP. That way, i save a year of tuition and am still working for the year too. Best of all worlds. Still no guarantee, but maybe it would help with my decision.
Tiempo, are the hubby and the pooches all moving to Scotland eventually??
Ok, i'm all done now....... emotionally exhausted.
GOOD LUCK to y'all. I hope we all end up over there!
