You should call Lauren. I had the same thing and I called and she told me that I was placed as an alternate.
 
^yeh i believe most ppl who had the status "the admission committee has not made a decision on your file" is put on "alternate". Just call Lauren and she'll let u know for sure.

I applied for fall 2012. I have the interview at Bradenton LECOM, do i have any chance to get in to any school with a 3.6 cumulative gpa, 3.71 science GPA, and a 16% on PCAT? i made it to the interview so far, does it mean anything though? and i need help with lecom essay questions? anybody know anything? plz list it here, it will be very helpful. thank you. and who is a good interviewer at LECOM?

I definitely think you should retake the pcat. My friend applied here and went to their 2nd interview and he had a low-ish pcat (around 60s). At the interview the interviewer kept giving him a hard time about his pcat score, asking why it was low blah blah, and if he was going to retake it.

My interview was closed file, because the lady doesnt like open file, she wants to know me from ground zero, and based on her comment, i think she liked my interview, I told her about the PCAT score, why it was low, she understood, she told me they don't just look at the PCAT score but overall package, now based on ally uor comments and others, i am so stressed out. what does an alternate mean? it's like 50 50 right?

well maybe u will have better luck b/c ur interviewer seems nice, my friend's interviewer was not nice at all. Alternate is like a waiting list, you get a spot when someone who was accepted decides to give up their spot.

The lady isabella i guess thats her name, she actually was interested in me, she didnt ask me anything weird, she took the full time talking to me, she described about herself and etc... and i told her about me, why pharmacy, how many school i have applied and how many i got interviewed, and she actually liked me a lot, yet my PCAT score is not good at all, and i heard rumors about LECOM don't care about PCAT. after reading ur comment, i am so stressed and so nervous, u dont have any idea, 🙁:cry:.
 
LECOM doesn't care about the PCAT if you have your bachelors... at least that is what I think anyhow. According to application requirements, you only need to take the PCAT if you don't have a BS so yeah...

they don't care/need the pcat from you if you have a BS

My advisor is a jackass, she told me, take 120 credits of classes and you will recieve a BA or BS degree. i took bunch of credit, and she retired and now i went to the new advisor and she is telling me thats wrong info. i am so pissed and my life is ruined. so wat i have is 120 credits of nothing, its not considered a bachelors. it consider as an AA with 120 credits. thats my situation. how can i tell that to LECOM, they will tell me i suck. lol BTW, i called today to LECOM and they told me i am on alternative list, i am so heart broken. i really wanted to go there, now i dont think i dont have any chance, and i dont want to take the PCAT again. i hate the PCAT.

don't give up! i heard a lot of ppl get pulled off the alternate list. Especially b/c a lot of ppl give up their seats to go to another school. Also ppl who got alternate at lecom get accepted elsewhere and once they withdraw from lecom the list gets shorter and your chances get better.
You have a really good gpa, have u thought about maybe getting a BS so you can apply to non-pcat schools? otherwise you will have to take the pcat again b/c a lot of schools have a minimum of 40-50 percent on the pcat.
 
If you check last years thread, I think everyone got in off the alternates list? There is still hope.

NO, so i had like 800 in my SAT both math and english combined, its a horrible score, but i managed a 3.6 overall and science 3.71. so, did SAT mattered to me, NO!!. you see my point yall. so i believe PCAT don't measure how well i will do in Pharmacy school.

I don't think that's true..there were a few people I know from reading the thread that were wait listed and didn't make it in. However I think chances are still very good to get in after being waitlisted

I interviewed in december. Don't stress too much over it. I heard that a lot of times ppl on the alternate list gets in towards the summer.. but the wait is probably the most unbearable. Good luck!

Idk about lecom but a school in CA (the school is UOP) puts ppl on hold without an interview and it just means something about their application wasn't good enough for an interview. They might decide to give you can interview later on, or no interview at all unfortunately :/
If you check out UOP's thread you'll see a lot of ppl got the dreaded rejection letter after being on hold.

the wait is a killer. i hate waiting, lol. btw u had ur interview on december. did they accept u or put u on alternate list also?
 
Does anyone know what type of bachelors degree LECOM looks for? what is the easy and the quickest BA or BS degree?
 
They are pulling people off the alternate list!
I interviewed in their first interview session, was placed on alternate (had such a mean interviewer), and got the acceptance email today. But I'll be giving up my seat, so goodluck to everyone on the alternate list 🙂 !

You should if this is your first choice school,
but I didn't because I was accepted to other schools right after my LecomB interview that I preferred going over Lecom.
 
I interviewed back in October, and today I got pulled from the waiting list.
 
Just got accepted yaayyy and i probably plan on attenting...
anyone accepted that will want a roommate cuz i am trying to find one
 
Can anyone who's had an interview tell me if you're really there the whole 5ish hours? It sounds like the actual interview is short... seems like a really long time to be there.

it takes more than 5 hours. trust me. first the security will give u id badges, then there will be a session where the one lady will speak for 30 minutes then the students will b sort into 2 groups, group 1 will interview while group 2 listens more abt financial aid and have refreshments, etc... then when group 1 is done then group 2 goes and group 1 does what group 2 did. then the tour, then dr jambhekar will give you lecture and finalize everything, my interview was from 12:45-4:55. so good luck, i have broke everything in details for you. lol

Yup. Maybe it was just because I interviewed on the very first interview day back in the fall, but the whole shebang actually ended up going a half hour OVER the time they'd indicated. I was supposed to go out to dinner with my husband afterwards, so the poor guy ended up sitting in the restaurant for a half hour all by his lonesome. 😳

There's a lot they have going on during that time, not just a quick interview.
 
Got acceptance email today as well! Can anyone tell me about pharmacy intern license in Florida? How do we apply for that if we are pharmacy student? Are there internship opportunities available in the Bradenton-Sarasota area?

It Def will take the 5 hours! and then some... mine went over a half hour over and because of it I missed my flight!
 
Did you guys show up 30 minutes early prior to the interview time or right on the clock? And do we show up with nothing? Like a field trip almost?

I don't think it matters as long as you have a bachelor degree and completed most of the prerequisites with a decent GPA (both overall & science). I guess 3.4 would be an ideal GPA.
 
I was accepted in October and paid my deposit but found out I was accepted to one of my top choices and will now be declining my seat..Good Luck everyone!
 
I live in Florida, but far from Bradenton, does anyone know of any safe place to be renting in Bradenton? People commented on other posts the place is not as safe as it looks at glance. :idea:

My husband grew up in Bradenton, and comparatively speaking, it really isn't a rough area at all. Like any other small city it has its good and bad spots, but overall it's really not that bad.

What I'd do, though, is stick close to highway 75, both for nice renting and convenience getting to school Anything off of University Avenue in Sarasota is a good bet; it's a nice area and we almost ended up renting there last year. The Lakewood Ranch area is also quite safe, and my husband tells me that most stuff by the river in Bradenton (near state road 64), and by state road 70 close to highway 75 is safe.
 
Omg, what a ' fewww' when reading your post. My situation is kinda like yours. My Gpa is 3.65. My Pcat is ' eww' dont want to talk about it. 🙂 I will have an interview on march 22. I am a little anxious now. Please share any tips that can help me. And thanks for the link.

I'm in CA and I just got my today
 
I interviewed Thursday and found out I have been wait listed. I am really upset because I keep getting wait listed, even LECOM in Erie. I don't know what seems to be the problem, I have a 3.50 gpa, I have pharmacy experience, I will have a BS in May, my interviews seem to go well. I guess I should just give up on going to pharmacy school in the fall! 🙁
