There's an urban legend in medicine that putting you work in the health care field is the absolute worse thing you can do. They say that since literally every health care postion in every country is understaffed that if they have the choice between someone who already works in it and someone else with interest they'll take the latter. Not sure how true it is across the board but that's how the rumour goes!Wouldn't it be interesting if a school would implement a program whereby some of the seats in the med prog were reserved for healthcare professionals with a certain amount of experience as well as university degrees.
I do know that medical schools hate poaching from other medical schools so if for some reason you're reapplying back home you're going to have to omit the Irish med school acceptance to have a chance.
