I deferred to LMU c/o 2029 January Cohort and figured I'd start a thread. Can't wait to meet future classmates!

Hi! I’m applying for January and I was wondering if you minded telling me your stats :) I just took the Casper and don’t know what I got yet so I’m just curious what other applicants that got in look like!

Sure! My cum gpa was 3.1, science gpa 3.4, last 45 3.6, approx 10,000 hours of small animal gp, 500 hours of equine, 100 hours of zoo, 7k hours of research (heart and genetics in college, vet pathology @ upenn after graduation), animal experience was pet sitting, volunteering at a working dog center, 4H, and horseback riding/horse care. 3rd quartile for the Casper, Played both field hockey and lacrosse in college and was a part of a few clubs. My letters of rec were from 2 small animal gp vets, my academic advisor/research professor from college, and 2 faculty research veterinarians who are my bosses at Pennvet. It was also my second time applying!

First time OOS. Did anyone apply early with the hope of getting a spring cohort interview?

Submitted today! I had a letter of recommendation not come in until this morning so it put me a little behind, but still hopeful! Good luck!!

Applied the 2nd of July for Spring start. I had my boss LOR come in late. But first time OOS!!

Does anyone know the answer to this. Will my LMU application get verified even if I have other applications still in progress?

As long as you meet all of the requirements for your LMU application that you submitted then you should be fine

I applied by the June 30th deadline - and completed my Casper- in hopes for the Spring/Silver cohort- you too?
Hi! Yes! That is my hope. I'm applying to other schools but would consider jumping into the silver cohort if I was accepted.

It will. If you go into your VMCAS and look at the Check Status tab at the top right corner it will list every school and say if your app is verified or not. LMU then has its own supplemental and portal that will tell you if your application is 100% complete.

Did you receive any sort of email confirming that that got your Casper results and VMCAS application?

I received an email saying they received my supplemental application but nothing mentioning receiving my Casper. The Casper website does say my score was sent though.

I only got an email about them receiving my supplemental application.

LMU told me “As for the first round of interviews, they will be on the 29th of this month and then the next round will be in September and the following months. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.”

Perfect! My VMCAS was verified this morning so hopefully we all start to hear about interviews soon. Thank you so much for the info.

Did they email when you application gets verified?

No I haven’t gotten anything yet
I spoke with admissions and they said we will not receive an email until they go through our VMCAS to verify our pre reqs after VMCAS verifies it. Once they do that we are moved to a different bucket and will receive an email.

I spoke with Holly yesterday via email, she had all of my transcripts before verified by VMCAS (got the verification email this morning) and confirmed what prereqs were sufficient. Hopefully we start hearing soon!🤞🏼

Can you share holly email? I haven’t gotten any verification email yet.

You should get a verification from VMCAS!
I only got clarification from Holly because I was unsure if I needed to take an additional class.
Her email is: [email protected]

Does anyone know if LMU averages retakes or replaces with the highest grade? My calculate GPA came lower than I thought. My overall is a 3.26 and my science is a 3.18.

They average. Where can you see what they calculated it as?

I got my interview invite last year on July 18th so hopefully they will start sending invites out soon! Good luck!

Finished mine, it was so conversational and relaxed. Definitely one of my favorite I’ve ever had!

How did it go?
Honestly, really well! Like someone else said on this thread, it was a much more conversational and relaxed interview. It was one on one and each person I interviewed with was so kind and had a relaxing presence which helped me a ton!

What kinds of things were you asked? My interview is at 10:55 am EST
