correct. i guess last week they had their SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) accreditation affirmation site visit M-W and then Dr. Stowers got tied up with things on Thursday.

I've been following this thread for a couple months unregistered, but now I'm registered to introduce myself. I'm hoping to start DCOM in the fall. I interviewed March 7th. Evidently this was a bad time to interview because we're being made to wait forever! Good things come to those who wait. I have been checking the phone and mail neurotically. It was a pleasure to visit the school which is in no way exaggerated on here. It really is immaculate.

Good to see some outdoors people. Harrogate is a great area for you if you are. East Tennessee is great for caves to explore. I've been tons of times in local caves. I've never been in one that requires ropes, because that's a little over my head. I'd be happy to take some people some time. You haven't experienced darkness until you have turned your light out in the belly of a cave.

Now a few questions:

Thanks! Yeah we met at pizza night. It was fun and very informative. Dr. Deaton gave you the credit for the pizza night and said it was a great idea. I agreed and thought more schools should do something similar.

Good to hear that hopefully things will happen quickly. I expect my letter to arrive more quickly than others because I'm right down the road (only two stops between their door and mine for mail service). I'm keeping my fingers crossed on one hand and clutching my phone in the other (for a call). Thanks for the info.

That is what I have right now, and I am planning to have Lasik done soon, but I don't know if I'll be able to because of HPSP until school actually starts...BCBST has truvision and you get a really good discount on lasik. I was worried I'd miss out on that!

I am also glad to go with BCBS...i had them through my parents and they were awesome.....after graduating school, I've been on a group aetna plan through work which also rocks...but most universities have crappy insurance...im glad DCOM is not slacking in this matter, nor in any matter from what I have seen and heard.

yea, i am one of those unfortunate 2/29ers. i emailed paul carney on monday and he said he hoped to meet with dr. stowers sometime that day, but no word on whether or not that actually happened.

as far as calls go, seeing as everyone who has interviewed since 2/29 is still waiting to hear back, i'm not sure if everyone or anyone will get calls this time around...i'm still hoping to...but that could potentially be a LOT of calls to make in a few days time before the letters get to us.

so I'm supposed to be studying for my cancer imaging test that I have tomorrow.. but I am so unmotivated right now.. I am so ready for the semester to be over.. and for med school to start. I probably won't be so excited about it starting when I have ridiculous amounts of stuff to study, but oh well.
