2024-2025 Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Someone on reddit commented that they called LMU today and they said the last day for WL movement is next Friday the 18th. I would hope that the spots that are open now are filled by this Friday and then anyone who doesn't show up during orientation, opens the literal last minute spots next Friday. Hold on tight guys, this is going to be a crazy finish 🙏

Did anyone see this post? If this is true Harrogate acceptances go out on Wednesday and there’s 15 spots left….

the last day before classes begin is crazy

IDK about that Reddit post. When ppl speak so assuredly (presuming that’s not an AdCom 😉 ), they lose credibility IMO This is a running list from our SDN LMU thread since the beginning of the year (yellow)

That’s some amazing dedication borderline stalking data. 🤞for the phone call soon as I will 100% be sleeping in their admission office on orientation day since how the hell can I get there on short notice unless in a private jet? 🤪

LOL Yeah, had it not been for everyone’s pseudonyms I don’t know that it’d be the same!

Please let those calls come today!!!!!

Assumption kills. At this point, we will know when we know either way. Both campuses are of the same only one is near a Costco, and the other is near a Walmart. We will all be seeing each other once we are accepted to either
Yes and they both have their advantages, Harrogate offers a quiet place to study with lots of surrounding nature and Knoxville is conveniently located near malls, costco, etc. I’m sure both of them would offer great education either way

both cities are also approximately one hour from each other, so you could enjoy both cities if you really wanted to!

The 25th…. How is it even possible to catch up after 1 week of lecture 🤯
I mean a week to make up classes is normal. As long as you are accepted, does it really matter? We are all going to be drowning in knowledge either way. Be it sooner than later. Everyone needs to calm down. It’s better to be more flexible than be more reactive. Hey at least we know some deadlines to expect. Besides, they have to give us a very reasonable time to actually and physically get their cause I remember teleportation has not been invented yet. I am sure we can negotiate with the school on how to settle our affairs since we are going to be there for four years anyway.

I totally feel this. But I'm someone who couldn't miss 1 day of a twice-weekly class without always then feeling like there was some key piece of info I didn't know b/c I wasn't physically in class that 1 day. This was regardless of doing well in those classes. Missing a week of medical school would probably do me in! lol I'd never feel like I caught up.

Let our phones start ringing!!! #WishfulWednesday

I really believe that this is the most critical time to lock in and begin regulating our nervous systems… I say this because I do believe that there will be a flood of calls until the very end of this cycle.

Let’s say we all get off the WL, right? Now you’re scrambling to pick up and move (if you’re OOS) to prepare for classes, but you’ve been so wound up during the wait that you can’t even stop to breathe and be grateful.

This has been hard… and I’m preaching to the choir at this point because I’m currently on the waitlist and I’ve already been approved for an apartment that I may not even be moving into. Let’s just hold on to our hope for these last days. I think our minds will be blown very soon.😇

Is anyone else severely stressed out? For example, quitting jobs on a short notice if accepted, finding housing, and finding time to relax before starting the four most rigorous years of our lives if admitted 🙁 I really hope we get some clarity soon because at this point it’s not healthy for a lot of us.

Absolutely. I got confirmation today that WL movement can be as late as the 25th so it really increased my stress level

I am definitely stressed out! The logistics definitely don’t make any sense but at the same time all I’m really focusing on is the getting off the waitlist part. I know I’m going to be stressed out about the living situation, getting there, whether or not I’ll be behind…etc! BUT one step at a time and I’m sure it’ll work out ( I’ll still be stressed especially when the time comes). I’m just trying not to think about it rn bc we already have so much on our plate with waiting! It’s nice to know we have this little community and we all feel this way though. Fingers crossed that we get a lot of WL movement today! As they say, it is a privilege to choose your stress. Nice different perspective! I’m hoping we get the privilege to be stressed about getting into medical school. Also not invalidating the fact that this cycle has been LONG and stress inducing either!
