Nah it's a good school, but there's nothing that excites me about attending LLU. Clinical education is great and the faith integration is unique. Everyone is super friendly and collaborative. Like Ryxndek said, I think less people apply bc of the spiritual component, and consequently less people use this thread. I think the letter is a turn off bc it's extra work... it weeds out the people who don't care that much about LLU and the "lazy" people - from an admissions standpoint, I think that's a good thing tho.
But to speak more about why nothing excites me about attending LLU: (1) It's by Riverside. Riverside isn't an exciting place to live imo, and other schools I've interviewed at are in more interesting areas. (2) It's not cheap. (3) The name isn't really that prestigious.
I'm from SoCal and have spent my whole life here. I want to branch out, and the only thing that would keep me in SoCal is if a cheap SoCal school accepted me or if no other schools accepted me. I'd choose LLU over WesternU, California Northstate, and USC. But I wouldn't choose it over UCLA, UCSF, and UoP.
I really enjoyed my interview and the students I interacted with at LLU. It's not a bad school, it's not a great school - it's a solid school. It is not one of the few d-schools you ought to avoid. I would go there for sure, but I got into a school that fits my goals better. Lemme know if you have any questions about the interview. Good luck!
