MCPHS (Worcester)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Ive also been looking into the areas around the city for places to rent... It's hard when you don't know what areas are good or bad! I asked about parking during my interview and they said its not too bad and that most people easily get parking permits.

Yea be confident, humble, and be ready to to tell the interviewer why you chose pharmacy. It's a three year program so they'll ask you how you go about blowing off steam when you're stressed and why you feel you can take on a fast pace academic schedule. Good luck, stay at the courtyard and use their shuttle service. It's cheaper than the hilton and they have a special for students coming in for their interview. Hope to see you next year.

I think they stretched the truth on "most people getting permits." Remember you're competing for parking with current students in pharmacy, nursing, PA, PT, and optometry (which starts next year). Most residents get parking if they act quickly. It's first come, first serve on parking. You can easily get parking at any of the local garages, but it's more expensive than campus sponsored parking.

Anyone know if theres a Facebook created for the MCHPS Worcester Class of 2015? Was just wondering because im looking to make some friends before i even get there and also trying to see if anyone is looking for rommates?

Would be great if someone would let me know!

Also Good luck to the upcoming interviewers!

Hi, guys, i am a P1 at mcphs class of 2014, I was in the same shoes as you guys are last year at the same time, few tips : interview is very easy if you get an interview you are %98 will get in, the courses are medium hard you need to study alot so if you are a party pal not a good idea to attend this school,
Few tips: if you decide to come here, there is a course called US-health care the most difficult and challenging class you will have in your first semister!! I suggest buy the books and start reading it, start read about Medicare and Medical, part ABCD of medicare, as well as how hospitals and doctors manage in the US, in Canada, UK, Germany and Japan, teacher of this class is crazy and very rude she doesnt answer any question and if you ask her question she will get mad or laugh at you or make you the dumbest person in class by her talks so she is not helpful at all.
Tip2:If you haven't take a physiology in your life that would be a good idea to either audit a class or sign up for it in a community college!
The rest of the classes are ok,
You should know that there will be 2 exams in each week, sometimes 3 and some of them in the same day, the semister is 14 weeks and you will take 21 midterms plus 6 finals, over all it is a accelarated program,
The other thing is % 70 of the students have the sample exams from prevous years, teachers do not change their exams so find frinds fast and do not supprise if half of the class get 90+ but you are failing because they have the questions!!
Average of my class for most of the exams was 80+ which I think it is very weird!!
Email me if you have any questions in title right pharmacy school!!
Good luck,
Sorry I type with my iphone in the plane if you see mistakes in my writing😉

While a P1 did you live off campus or on campus? Im debating if i should live on campus because it is so convenient. However it seems that alot of students prefer off campus housing because it is cheaper? Which one would you sugggest because i just want to stay at a place where i will be able to meet a lot of people and make friends.

Does anyone know if the Admissions Office is closed for the holidays the last 2 weeks of Dec? I've been able to confirm that my deposit and letter has been delivered to worcester, but the money has not been taken out yet... hm =T

Well it is up to you, on campus is very expensive!! Almost $1000 a month,
I prefered off campus and I still made friends!

So just a show of hands lol Who is living on campus and who is living off campus?

off campus over here. I'm going to move to worcester early August, we should all plan to meet up before school starts to make some friends and to get to know one another. 🙂 I hope someone gets a facebook thing going for C/O of 2015 soon.

off campus too. yes, lets get together prior to classes starting sometime in August.

Yea hit me up as well so we can all get to know each other!

Im still debating if i should live on campus or off campus because living on campus is so convenient and if i decide to live off campus later i will know the area better so i will have an idea where exactly is the best place to live off campus . The only downfall is the cost for living on campus -_- I guess i will take a little bit more time to decide.

Anyone living on campus? cuz it seems like the previous members are leaning towards off campus.

If anyone has been accepted to this school, please let me know so you can be added to the Official Roll Call for Class of 2015/2016. Please post in the sticky thread your acceptances and the program you will be attending (if accepted to multiple schools).

Here is the link to the sticky thread:

🙂👍

LOL OK! will create one then! and about the person talking about bad reputation, remember you can always make a difference. instead of talking about drop out rate you should think about the naplex passing rate. This school prepares you for real life! its the second oldest pharmacy school in the country so if it was that bad, i am sure it would have been gone by now

Just wondering but did you create the FB page haha If not id be willing to create one and post a link up here because ive been trying to connect with all the other accepted students but cant seem to find a FB page or anything. Let me know! 🙂

Please let us all know when you have the FB page up. 🙂 Does anyone know if the school confirms whether or not it has received the deposit? Thanks all

I emailed my counselor that I met with on my interview and she let me know that they received it. I've read before that they do send emails of confirmation, but I still wanted to know as my 30 day deadline for acceptance was coming up.

Off campus!! I'm also interested in meeting up with everyone before classes begin! I'm planning on moving sometime during the summer...I'd be happy to help organize a get together 🙂

Do we have a Facebook c/o 2015 group?

Im deciding if i should create one because ive asked the same question and no one has replied saying they have one up and running. I dont want to make a duplicate one lol

But yea do you guys want me to create it? ill be down haha

Hey there, Has anyone created one yet?!!?

O yeah the only thing is that i feel like the MCPHS admissions is going to create one because when i looked up the c/0 2014 the admin is MCPHS Worcester admissions. Hmm.... but i guess it wouldnt hurt to have a group run by students as well. What do you guys think? Create one for now?

Hi, I have a question.I had interview on Oct. 28, 1 week after I mailed my application, they sent me the interview letter. But unfortunately they put me in waiting list 🙁.I have no idea why.My interview was not bad but I don't have any experience related to health care or pharmacy. I talked to the assistant director and she said my application is strong and its not easy to put me in waiting list.I was taking Bio II and Micro Bio during the time of my interview.I have 3.71 GPA and BS in chemistry. I recently got my Micro Bio grade and I got A on that.Still waiting for Bio II result and I m expecting at least A- on that.Do you think after I submit those grades, it can let them consider my application? I was told in waiting list letter to submit additional grade, updated resume, etc if it can help them consider my application. I got an email from Brian 2 weeks ago reminding me of sending the same thing they mentioned in waiting list letter. And for experience regarding healthcare, I am trying to get in to the pharmacy store but no one has opening till now.I am really feeling so frustrated. Can you please tell me if I can be considered after submitting my additional grades even though I am still trying my best to get a job. Thanks for your help.

Hey Chris,
Yea with your grades tho, I really can't see why you would be put on hold. Maybe lack of experience and community work? I'm sure updating them with your completed prereq classes would definitely help. Perhaps you should consider doing more volunteer work to update your resume. In addition, there are other schools that have not ended their app cycle, apply to give yourself some additional assurance. I hope you the best and I'm pulling for you man. Good luck

I think guitarded2 was right on. If you can't find a pharmacy job, then walk into your local pharmacy's and ask the pharmacy manager if you can volunteer as an intern with no pay. I'm sure they would be happy to have free help for a few weeks or so. Send in your remaining transcripts too and let them know once you start working in the health care field. Good Luck!...I'm sure they will pull you off the wait list and accept you.

Hey Pharmadaz,

Are you on our unofficial C/O of 2015 FB page? Lets get the show on the road future classmates! haha I wanna meet all you guys🙂
