I specifically was asking them for OOS, but not sure if their response was referring to just OOS or both!Do you know if this is for the IS or OOS alt list?

Anyone else got pulled off from the OOS interview waitlist? Im #21 and I hope I can get pulled off.
Definitely feeling the same way but at the same time I don’t know how to feel! Hoping for the best though. Good luck 👍I think I totally bombed my interview.. I didn’t know how to answer like two questions and fumbled a lot like my answers didn’t make any sense..

Probably end of the first week. Two of the 4 classes go on spring break, and 1 of the 4 classes is starting clinicals so they’ll probably want them out during the down timeThe last interview day is March 4th so I’m assuming either end of the first week or beginning of the second week of March
My guess is the end of the first week of March! 😅any guesses on when the results will be announced? I know first week of March is what they’re saying, but are we thinking the beginning or the end of the week?

I agree! Maybe they make their decisions as they go?Thats crazy they’re able to decide with so many people still interviewing! Maybe its just a quick scoring system?

Sure would be!That would also be crazy 😳
Current 2nd year: I love MSU. I love the faculty being so willing to help out, make lectures interesting, and come talk with clubs. I enjoy the systems based curriculum but I do agree there are some issues with the curriculum in terms of lack of pharmacology and difficulty with retention. I think that if they switch to 6 week long classes with three at a time that go together that it would be easier to piece everything together. There are exams almost every week but I feel well prepared for them. We have an excellent peer tutoring program and a person who helps strictly with study skills.I'd love to know more about current or past students' experience at MSU! Is there anyone out there who minds sharing their experience? Also, any info on DEI would be great too! Thanks 🙂
Honeypot, you are so kind and helpful for going into so much depth about your experience, and I truly appreciate your time! 🩷 I am a cis female but come from Hispanic heritage, so DEI is important to me not only for myself but for everyone! Having a supportive community is very important to me.Current 2nd year: I love MSU. I love the faculty being so willing to help out, make lectures interesting, and come talk with clubs. MSU is very helpful with trying to keep you in the program by doing early interventions and education plans to help you succeed in school. As for DEI, I believe each class has a DEI chair there to facilitate equity between students. Plus lots of clubs like PRIDE, BIPOC, LVMA, and AAVMP so we cover a wide variety of identities. Our name tags have our pronouns on them if we select to have them included.
There’s lots of opportunities to work in the hospital, both large and small. You can be on different services like radiology, surgery, emergency, or large animal weekend help. I have never felt like I’m not getting the experiences I want. Clinicians are more than willing to have you shadow, see procedures, and mentor you.
Personally, I have lots of free time, and don’t feel stressed out by pre class work but everyone is different. I hold 4 club positions, tutor, and hold a student representative position. I go work out at the gym 3x a week, and never do school work on Saturdays. Everything you want to do is doable.
Let me know if you want to know something specific.
I ended up declining my interview, good luck to those that are still interviewing!Just got pulled off the interview waitlist, I was #27
Attendance is mandatory but they don’t enforce it expect for clinical skills lab. I like going to class most days because I can ask my questions there and it helps to interact with professors so they remember you on rotations. A lot of my class who struggle with focusing in class, health issues, or need a break like the ability to watch and rewatch lectures.Honeypot, you are so kind and helpful for going into so much depth about your experience, and I truly appreciate your time! 🩷 I am a cis female but come from Hispanic heritage, so DEI is important to me not only for myself but for everyone! The only question I can think of as of now (more to come later, if I am accepted 😇) is class attendance--do you attend all your lectures or do you sometimes watch them from home?
Again, thank YOU!! 🥲
So that last interview date I was given as an IS applicant was February 4th. I don't know if there is a waitlist for IS applicants, but maybe they will decide/release IS decisions first since interviews were done sooner?
This is good to know in case I get sick and don't want to fall behind! I'd also prefer to go to lectures for those same reasons!Attendance is mandatory but they don’t enforce it expect for clinical skills lab. I don’t like to watch the lectures from home because they’re not live, the recording some times messes up, or you can’t really hear the questions well.
For our curriculum as it currently stands, it is very easy to fall behind and struggle to catch up when sick. Hopefully that changes as the curriculum changes for the betterThis is good to know in case I get sick and don't want to fall behind! I'd also prefer to go to lectures for those same reasons!
Not to be the bearer of bad news but this week is the last week of interview (Thursday being the last day) so I wouldn’t expect to hear until the second week of March 🥲
How I have been down this road many times and felt so defeated 😔 4th time applicant, only got into 1 school this year, waiting on Michigan, and waitlisted at CSU, and as much as I'm glad I kept going, I know that money makes it harder. DM me if you wanna talk about it, friend. I am so sorry.Just got the email an hour ago saying they’re concluding interviews and no longer utilizing the MMI waitlist. honestly devastated, this was my last school I had hope for after 11 other rejections and my 2nd cycle after a gap year. even if i didnt want to give up at this point i’m so far behind financially after this cycle that i cant apply again next year :/
I wanna say, yes!I know tomorrow is the last day of interview. Should we expect to hear back this week?![]()
Aww darn 😅 I thought the last interview was on 3/4Not to be the bearer of bad news but this week is the last week of interview (Thursday being the last day) so I wouldn’t expect to hear until the second week of March 🥲
Thursday afternoon is the last batch, assuming there are students scheduled? At least on my end that's what I see, but it's possible they consolidated everyone to today. If I’m reading my initial email from Michigan with the interview time slots correctly, the last interviews should be ending now.
Does anyone know what date/time decisions were released in previous years?
Are we thinking the IS will get notified before OOS?
🥲🥲🥲That’s what happened last year apparently
