I’m a first year and I really love it here. Our professors are incredible and there’s tons of opportunities to get involved. For the most part, my classmates are really wonderful and many of us are older students. I also think we are very diverse as a class compared to other programs. I have some frustrations with admin and the pace of the curriculum is brutal, but I’m really happy with my choice. It really is what you make of it, many of my classmates have hobbies, children, and other responsibilities. It seems like everyone tells you vet school is awful but I don’t think it’s THAT bad. One thing to note though is the curriculum IS changing starting this fall. They’re moving to multiple classes at a time for 6-8 weeks instead of one class at a time like it is now, they’re hopeful that this will help with retention issues. They will also be implementing end of semester cumulative exams- I’m not 100% sure of the details or implications for the c/o 2029 though.
