Hey guys, I got a phone call from Mississippi state and missed it (I’m at work right now) but they gave me a callback number in voice mail. I called back and they told me just to check my portal status after 1pm and apparently they’re calling to tell everybody that according to the woman there I spoke with???? Anybody else hear this too? Worried I might’ve not gotten the correct information as I think a phone call just to tell people to check a portal is a bit unnecessary (I could in fact also just be too hopeful LOL)

Is anybody else having issues with their portal? My offer I received TODAY said I needed to respond by April 15th at midnight. I’ve called admissions and they took my info and said they’d look into it. I also emailed and showed screenshots. Getting a little concerned because now my portal went from showing all the welcome stuff to saying nothing (just the reminders section stuff like where it tells you the LoR submissions and all that. I also have the DVM updated transcripts and required acceptance deposit slots put in there, but nothing else is present)

so you were 10 and 30 on oos, but accepted for SC contract?
Yes! So when you apply for contract seats you get two waitlist spots if you are waitlisted. One is on a list of people JUST for that state’s contract seats, and the other is the normal OOS pool. I was only told on my letter that I was accepted for a SC contract seat!

ahh okay so theoretically that means I would move up a spot because your oos application is no longer considered

They called me around 2PM CST. To be honest, I can't remember the deadline she gave me because I was extremely shocked and happy, but she made it sound urgent to accept my seat if I was going to.

ahhh okay. congrats!! are you accepting?

Hi everyone, this is my first formal post on SDN. I've been watching from afar, but I felt like it's finally time to post. I am a second time applicant who was placed on the MS State waitlist. I recieved all (7) rejections last cycle and (6) this time, except for my waitlist spot at MS State. I'm in the 50's, and I was curious how everyone else is responding to the news or lack thereof.

I am moving states for a farming job on Monday, but am still patiently waiting to hear anything regarding the movement of the waitlist. This has been a dream of mine forever, and I was planning on taking a break from applying after this cycle, but with the recent news of #49 getting accepted, I'm having a hard time moving and accepting what is reality and what isn't. Does anyone have any other news regarding movement or what to do if I'm not accepted this cycle?

Thank you in advance 🙂)

I’m anticipating more updates about the waitlist early next week, either more being pulled off or them announcing the class is full. I’m also in the 50s so I’m right there with you being anxious! Is the job you’re moving for a done deal? Or could you postpone for another week or so? There really is no right or wrong answer for what you decide to do, but having a secured job is always helpful if you decide to not accept an offer if you get one. Plus, with this added experience if you decide to reapply, you’ll be able to include this job on your application and that might help secure you a more solid spot for the next round!
