Do we think they’ll start calling people from the waitlist before the April 15th deadline? I looked at the last two years’ threads and it seems like they waited until very close to/ after the deadline, but I’m not sure why they would say they would provide monthly alternate updates if they won’t call until mid April?

Yes, go ahead and fill out your FAFSA!! The earlier you do it the better. If you are still deciding between schools (or if you are waitlisted somewhere and are hoping to go there) you can submit multiple school codes.

I’m pretty close to the top of the list (as in I personally know more people who have already declined their seats than my waitlist number), and I haven’t heard anything yet. I guess they’re holding out on starting to call

I was fourth the OOS waitlist last year and was in the same situation. I had seen more people on here, facebook groups, etc that declined their OOS acceptances than my waitlist number. They called me the morning after the deadline for decisions

It was my cheapest option but for many reasons I am not wanting to pursue higher education in the United States right now, even though I loved the program at MSU.
