This thread is for discussing applications to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in the 2024-2025 (class of 2029) cycle.

Hi everyone! I know every year applicants are always wondering when they will hear back from schools. This past cycle we heard if we were offered an interview on 11/21, interviews were held both through zoom and in person in January, and offers were extended by email on 2/7! The in person interviews also had a tour, lunch, and info sessions. Obviously no guarantee that the timeline will stay the same but hopefully it will give you somewhat of an idea🙂

Hi friends!
Current student here at Mizzou 🙂. So excited for everyone as the application cycle gets rolling. If anyone has any questions at all feel free to ask here or PM me to chat. I've had some amazing experiences here the past year and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Best of luck in your journey, wherever it may take you. Just starting your application is a huge step so congratulations and wishing you all the best!

Just holler if you have any questions at all!

Hi all!

As the application cycle slowly comes to a close for the class of 2029 and programs start doing a deep dive on applicants for admission, I wanted to reach out again and remind everyone to breathe. I know it can seem impossible at times but also a gentle reminder to pat yourself on the back because you are either venturing for the first time into this new journey or returning and you all regardless of where you might be coming from have worked incredibly hard to get where you are in this moment...take time to breathe and celebrate that HUGE accomplishment of getting ready to submit or having already submitted your application!

Classes have started up again so I may take a minute to reply but please if you have any questions specifically about the program at Mizzou, Life in COMO, or anything else don't hesitate to reach out privately or here in this chat. SDN was a huge asset when I applied so I encourage those of you applying to Mizzou (as well as other programs) to utilize these spaces to help each other stay calm admist the chaos..who knows you might meet a friend and you both end up in the same program, it happens trust me! One of my closest friends, I met through this platform and now we are future colleagues in the same cohort at Mizzou, true story. So If you have a question I can almost gurantee someone else has the same exact question (crazy, I know 😂).

Again congratulations 👏 and welcome to the beginning of your next adventure in the crazy world of vet med!

Did anyone else get rejected a couple weeks ago then get an email today saying they revisited some applications and now you have an interview??

For last years timeline mizzou emailed whether or not we were selected for interview on Nov 21st at around 4pm est. good luck everyone 🙂

That's why I was confused on how they had heard a rejection and then interview invite so soon when the interview period hadn't even started yet?

@torticatcalci I would recommend reaching out to admissions if you have questions about this - as far as I am aware, Mizzou releases all interview decisions/initial rejections at the same time (around Thanksgiving if it is the same as last year).

You can find their contact info here: Contact the Admissions Office

Mizzou admissions are very friendly, in my experience, so if anyone’s got a question for them, don’t let the fear of being an annoyance stop you!

If anyone is curious, miss Kathy told me that years ago Mizzou used to not interview people twice! So since I interviewed last year they had a software error that emailed me saying I did not get an interview this year and they went in and re-screened those since that’s not the case anymore. She said everyone should hear a couple days before thanksgiving as per usual 🙂

Does anyone know how many OOS spots there are for Missouri? Their website says the C/O 2027 students had 122 total spots, but it does not break that down into IS and OOS.

whats up gamers, im back 😎 i was lurking the APVMA facebook page, and someone emailed admissions end of october-ish, and they got a response saying we would receive an update mid-november. so pookies, it might be this week!!!!!!
