I interviewed at the Denton campus and I received an email saying I was not accepted due to the number of applicants so not sure if what they told you was true or if something with my application got messed up.

Congrats to all that were accepted and waitlisted!
 
Got the acceptance letter email from TWU in Denton this morning! The waiting was so hard..so much checking and checking. Glad it's over! Can't wait to meet the rest of my super awesome cohort.

For those waitlisted, don't give up hope.

I got waitlisted as well. How do you know you're on waitlist for both campuses? I applied to all 3 locations, but it didn't specify a certain campus.
 
I was accepted into TWU Denton!
Congratulations to all who applied and were accepted. Very glad this stressful process is over. I can’t wait to meet everyone who’s going to be in Denton!!

Best of luck to everyone who was waitlisted or were denied admissions. Please don’t give up hope or your passion for OT, if there’s a will there’s a way. There’s always a rainbow. <3 <3 <3
 
Also got waitlisted for TWU Houston! For those that got accepted, I’m curious, when was the last date for you to give your answer? If it said it in the e-mail? For those who were waitlisted, answer was needed by January 27th.

Also, did anyone else recently get an email from UTEP notifying of “application is in review?” I figured they would’ve done interviews by now. Anyone already get interviewed by UTEP or in the same boat?

I was offered a spot in Houston and the email says accept or decline by the 27th as well. Keep in mind a lot of people are still waiting to hear from other campuses and may just accept the spot now, and decline later. Don’t give up just yet!

last year UTEP didn’t have interviews. not sure if it’s the same this year!

I’m hoping to connect with some of you who were accepted into the TWU Denton campus and are thinking of accepting. It would be great to get to know one another if we do end up being in a cohort together!! ☺

also, for anyone on the waitlist, the girls who were in the cohort entering last year said a good chunk of their classmates were waitlisted! Don’t give up hope!
 
TWU’s financial aid deadline is today. Is there anything else we need to submit besides fafsa?

I applied to UTEP and received the same email. I have emailed them twice about a month ago and have not heard anything.

It was something they had said when I went for my tour. Basically that if you were open to all three campuses, you could get called in from all three campuses. But that could have changed! I don't have anything in writing saying that , only the notes I took from the tour! I'm sorry I know that is not super helpful!
 
Does anyone know when they will begin pulling from the waitlist? Is it daily or after the 27th?

For TWU:
It said on the website that for financial aid you just have to apply to the school and then the FAFSA.

Scholarship apps aren’t due until March 15th and they’ll most likely require a little more, but you have to have the FAFSA completed for most of them as well. 🙂

Congrats to everyone admitted to TWU! I am waitlisted for the Houston campus. Just curious to know if any of those admitted graduated with their undergrad from TWU?
 
This is probably a dumb question, but yesterday’s email was a definite acceptance right? I was just confused by the wording and how we’re “recommended to be accepted by the graduate school”? I just want to double check before I withdraw my other applications

I spoke to an acquaintance who is currently in her first year of OT school at UTMB, and she said she never heard of it before either. She believes it is something new they started this year
 
For those who were rejected: I didn’t get accepted anywhere last cycle, but this second time around I got into TWU. It was really tough being rejected, but I’m sooo happy I decided to try again. If this year doesn’t work out for y’all then next year likely will.
 
Does anyone know of past TWU applicants who were waitlisted and got accepted at a different campus? Like they interviewed at Denton but got accepted to Houston or Dallas? Thanks!

Has anyone called and asked what the acceptance email meant by “recommending you to the graduate school”? I’m just confused if it’s a certain acceptance or not, mainly because I know that my GRE score didn’t meet the 150 requirement for the graduate school, but when I called the OT department in the summer, they said there was not a minimum score.

So, this means that the OT department has accepted you to their program, and they're recommending/forwarding your info to the TWU graduate school to review and also accept you. Basically they're two entities that work togrther and both have to accept you. That's why we filled out the supplemental application to TWU and not just the OTCAS. Hope that makes sense lol. Like, let's say you meet the criteria for admission to the OT program but don't meet the TWU graduate school criteria, then your offer will be riscended. This most likely won't be the case, unless you don't graduate with your bachelor's in time for summer or your final gpa is lower than required. Basically, as long as your application is accurate and all the paperwork is in order, you're good to go.

From my understanding, there is no minimum GRE needed if you are a citizen. Only international students to display proficiency in English. Hope that helps and eases nerves!

Yes, me! I applied at the Dallas location and they sent me an email that I was waitlisted. Just today I got the email that I was accepted in the Denton campus!! I can't remember but I'm pretty sure I listed them as my third option.
 
Wait, so I just saw a bunch of comments that the FAFSA deadline for TWU was wednesday, but I just got my acceptance to the Denton location today! Kinda starting to freak out because I definitely need FAFSA, so the deadline is completely passed and I can't get any financial aid? Please help!
 
It was probably just the priority deadline that passed. I think you can file your fafsa even after the semester starts, you’ll just get it later, but I could be wrong.

So I’m coming from the Midwest down to Denton and I’m wondering how I can figure out the best place to live and find roommates?

Yep I got the same email. I guess they don't interview and they told me they were sending out decisions in March 2020. which was really weird to me because everyone who got into other schools would surely have accepted their spot by then. It was my last choice school anyways lol

How many days after your interview did you receive the acceptance?? I interviewed on Friday the 17th, so just wondering how long until they should contact me!!

I was accepted to tech and I heard back really soon after I interviewed!!

That's usually how TWU handles filling all the seats for their cohort... if you aren't accepted into the OT program at the campus where you interviewed, you're ranked on the master waitlist that includes all interviewed applicants for all three TWU campuses. As applicants deny their acceptance offers, TWU fills that spot by reaching out to the next applicant from the ranked master waitlist, according to the applicant's campus preference. So, in your case, you said you interviewed at TWU Dallas and were waitlisted. What probably happened is, you must have selected Denton or "any campus" as your second campus choice on your OTCAS application. Someone else must have declined their seat at TWU Denton, and you probably were next on TWU's master list to fill that spot on the Denton campus. Hope that helps!
