MPH 2020: Applied, Accepted, Rejected, Waitlisted

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just received an email from an admissions coordinator at Brown and she said the number of applications nearly doubled from last year so it could take some time to hear back.

Hi all! Hope everyone are getting offers from applied schools! I have a question regarding Vanderbilt MPH program. My application was verified on SOPHAS before their priority deadline, which is December 15. However, I have yet to receive any email confirmation from the school admission itself about my application being complete or whether it was routed for review. Is that normal?

If it’s been that long, I would suggest emailing them just to ask for an update on the status of your app. It couldn’t hurt!

you could call them tomorrow morning and request an update . Usually they will let you know atleast if its been rerouted to the concerned department review committee or not and that might help.

Just an FYI I emailed GW because it's been over the 2 weeks and they said they're delayed with giving out the award letters but they should be coming out really soon! They said mine would be sent today but I'm still waiting so don't give up hope!

Thank you for the reply! I just got an email from their admission office 20 minutes ago. Happily surprised haha 🙂

Congrats on your acceptances so far! When did you hear from UWashington?

Does anyone know if Columbia, Harvard and UC Berkeley send out their acceptances at the same time as their rejections? Or are those to different batches?

Haha same my only faculty LoR was from an English professor even though I am a public health major. Good luck with your other schools!!

In at NYU CGPH for a 2-year MPH in epi with a $9000 per year semester scholarship! I have a 2.91 sophas GPA with multiple repeated classes and Cs littered all over my transcript, so I didn’t think I could I get in anywhere. I’m over the moon right now.

Edit: $9000 per semester, $18000 per year

Thank you! I applied on 11/18 and went under review later that same day and just found out a little bit ago via an email with the subject line "Your NYU GPH Admission Decision".

Has anyone applied for a PhD in public health this cycle and heard back? Eagerly awaiting admission decisions!

random q. Is anyone applying for the Oxford MSc in global health? I saw on their website interviews are supposed to start this week, but I haven't gotten an email. Are they not extended to everyone?

I applied to epidemiology PhD programs this cycle and am still waiting to hear back from a few programs.

Just got accepted to Pittsburgh for MS biostats!
(btw none of my acceptance letters mention scholarships etc. Given that I am an international student, does it mean I won't be getting any scholarship?)
you may get another email for that later. I am international too and I got a scholarship for BU so I don't think it has to do with being international

Pitt has historically been very stingy with their funding. I was offered a scholarship for my MS, but only if I was in the first 50% of my cohort that confirmed enrollment, and it was only for like $1000.

haha that sounds ridiculous! Guess I won't be counting on them then!

Not necessarily. I was offered my $9,500 scholarship from Pitt a few days after my acceptance and then I was offered 50% tuition about 2 weeks later

Why do I have a feeling that Columbia saying decisions by “the end of this week” will mean 11:59 PM on Friday night? LOL
Where did Columbia say they’d send decisions by the end of the week? And was this for a specific department?

But yea end of this week for sure means at the last second, maybe even next week.
