I've heard nothing from NYU, UNC and Tufts. NYU did send an email a few weeks ago saying 'be patient'

I think you're more likely to hear on a weekday, but my decision came on a Tuesday (Jan 24) at 3:55PM Eastern Time, but mine was an MPH for global health!

I also heard back from NYU about the MPH program in community & international health on January 24th at 3:46 PM Eastern. If it helps, my application was in and verified with SOPHAS on November 22nd, so it did take about 2 months to get a decision!

Thanks! I submitted on on 1/13, verified 1/14. Awaiting. Checking my e-mail 5 times a day.

Have been off for a while guys, got bad news from one of my schools and didn't really wanna keep stressing myself out 🙁

That said, I got rejected from Dartmouth 🙁 But, I was calling Emory's admissions department and was told that I was accepted, they just hadn't had the opportunity to update my file yet 🙂

And, just got into Columbia's accelerated MPH in Health Policy and Management!!!

I only want to apply to schools of public health that are 1) CEPH-certified and 2) does not require standardized test scores.
I have completed my GCE O'Levels and A'Levels from an international school and my certificates have been issued from the University of Cambridge.
Moreover, my language of instruction for BDS was English.
Am I aiming too high?

You haven't provided any of your stats nor do I know much about the schools you are applying to but I can tell you that your O Levels and A levels have almost no bearing on admission to graduate school. They are only important for undergrad admisssion. The fact that Cambridge also gives out certificates for GCSEs means nothing at all to admissions committees- Cambridge is only the examining body and there is no selectivity in who can take the examinations.

It really only helps in one aspect - As an international student, the only place that helps with those A level certs is that you might not have to write the TOEFL or IELTS, so you might save some money there and not have to do those awful standardised exams.

Congrats! What an emotional rollercoaster!

FYI!

Just spoke with U of Michigan HBHE department. Scholarship decisions are being made this week and we should hear next week.

Is this in regards to admissions decisions that we should hear next week? Or have most already heard if they were accepted, and funding decisions will be made next week? Still waiting for a decision over here...:boom:

Thanks 🙂 Health Behavior, applied 12/1 on SOPHAS and submitted the supplemental app 12/8. They said funding info will come later in a separate letter.
AHHH this is freaking me out, I applied right before 12/1 as well. Reloading my email a million times a day

Congrats on your acceptances! When was your application sent for review at Emory? When you called did you straight up ask about your decision or were you inquiring about something else and they just told you? I remember when I applied I called them to ask a question and they said that they hadn't downloaded applications from SOPHAS in more than a week...which makes me wonder if decisions have been made but not updated yet!

So, I got invited to apply for the Global Health Management and Policy track at Michigan - as far as I can tell, it's only reserved for the HMP people. Anyone else going for this? I can't find *too* much information about the program on their website. It certainly involves taking a few extra courses.

Has anyone been rejected from Yale SBS yet? I've seen some acceptances, and noticed that a few waitlists happened on the same day. Just feel like I'm in the hook at this point.

I'm still waiting for Yale SBS also!!! I haven't heard back from any schools in fact.. 🙁 🙁 🙁

Oh gosh that's frustrating. I'm sure you'll hear back from somewhere soon 🙂 the waiting game is agonizing!

Does anyone have a sense of what the general timeframe is for financial aid packages?

Congrats! Did Columbia send you any info aside from a welcome email?

Question for all of you who did phone interviews. Did any of you send a thank you note afterwards?

I did a Sykpe interview for Penn and just sent quick e-mails thanking both my interviewers after. Don't know if it made any difference in the admissions decision, but it doesn't take much time out of your day to do it, and it's a nice courtesy 🙂

Anyone have an idea on when Yale might start notifying? Seems like they haven't done any big "batches" yet so far but stuff here and there...
Waiting anxiously for HPM department :xf:

When did you apply? I applied by Dec 1, and hear back by the end of December. If you applied by the regular deadline however, I think now through early March.

Does anyone know anything about Drexel? Know anyone who went there for an MPH, visited the school, have any more info than what's on their website? Have any general impressions to share? Unless a funding miracle occurs, I am probably headed there since it makes the most sense for me financially and because it has an explicitly LGBTQ health focus. But there's so little written about it on these forums or others that I've resorted to reading Yelp reviews.

My general impression is that it's an up-and-coming public health school that is not very highly ranked or academically rigorous but is very community oriented and skills-focused. I am concerned that it's not name brand; I've mentioned my acceptance to a few colleagues and family members, and the universal reaction was, "That's in Philly, right?" To quell this concern, I emailed Drexel asking about job placement stats and didn't get any more detail than what's online, though I did learn that the Dornsife Fellowship is currently in its first year and that the school is expanding in terms of number of students & number of faculty. I'm going to try to arrange a visit in March, but it may not be feasible.

Thank you for asking!!! I got in recently as well and found not to much info on the program or anything related to jobs/placement.

I also got this invitation. I am likely to apply because of my interest and background in Global Health. The additional courses appeal to me given my interests.

I thought there was just one deadline (January 15th)?

I'm not sure how well advertised it is? I remember I heard from financial aid around Thanksgiving to fill out a form due December 1st (thanks guys for the notice!) and on it it said December 1st was the priority deadline and January 15th was the regular deadline for applications.

You're right! I found the YSPH financial aid form and it says December 1st is the priority deadline. My application was received after that date, so maybe that's why I haven't heard back yet. I had no idea about this second form either, so I should probably fill it out (even if Yale is a long-shot ).
