MPH / MSPH 2021: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Did anyone just receive an email from Emory saying that their application was forwarded to their first-choice department for review? Hopefully that means decisions soon!!!!
Yes!!! Now I’m gonna be obsessively checking OPUS! Wishing us all positivity and good news to come very very soon

does gwu send an email letting you know if you did not get any aid?

I have the same question too. Received acceptance letter but no detail about scholarship/financial aid.
The university hasn't even disbursed financial aid yet for current students, but that's supposed to happen tomorrow so hopefully we all get financial aid info soon! You could always reach out to [email protected] if you want a better estimate for when to expect to hear about it.

To add – You can check your financial aid packages on wolverine access right below where you check your application status. Looking back at last year's posts, it seems like financial aid packages come February-ish, so we might have a few weeks yet!

Dumb formatting question but how do you add a signature lol below the post?

Ahhhh fingers crossed! When did you submit?

I applied to UMich , do you need to pay the fee twice because I applied to two programs ?
I heard back from one but not the other.

P.S : Has any one heard back from the UMich : Health Policy & Mgmnt

Who didn’t take the GRE in here and applied? Possibly accepted?
I didn't and was accepted to Hopkins, UNC-Chapel Hill, Tulane and GW. However, when I did apply it was recommended, but I believe most grad programs have been more relaxed and are looking at students more holistically (not every program but the ones I have applied to.)

Hi! I’m planning to applying to MPH programs for 2022. Some of the schools I’m interested in include UC Berkeley, UW, USFCA, SDSU, UCLA, Columbia, BU, and CUNY. I’m specifically interested in health and social behavior programs. But I’m interested to learn how the application process went for you/what resources were helpful to tap into for any of those schools.
Good luck to all!

Is anyone applying to schools abroad? I'm looking at MPH/MsPH HPM programs and wanted to see if anyone is considering applying or has seen any details in the old threads

Has anyone interviewed with UPenn? My interview is tomorrow and I do not know what to expect. It is 15-30 minutes and if anyone has already had theirs then I would greatly appreciate advice on how it is setup and works.

hi! I applied to UPenn two weeks ago, do you mind sharing your stats?

For UMichigan, I wonder when we will hear back for the MPH Dean's Award Funding? And how selective is this award (I don't see much info on the website)?

Hello! I applied to a few schools in the UK; I'll likely be attending LSHTM in the fall. Which programs abroad are you considering? Best of luck to you!!

Hi everyone! I applied to MPH Epidemiology programs at: University of Arizona, East Tennessee State, Colorado State, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee

Has anyone applied to any of these schools or have an idea of what my chances might be? My stats are pretty average and I worry because I don’t have much of a science or mathematics background, but I have excellent work experience and solid goals.

Undergrad GPA/Major GPA: 3.3
Major/minor: BS Public Health

Experience/research: Served in the Peace Corps following undergrad. I have several years of experience in an HIV clinic and at Planned Parenthood. Most of my work has been program planning and implementation, and I wrote and secured a few grants at a nonprofit I worked at. I am also a published co-author in a research paper.

Interests: Reproductive epidemiology, nutritional epi, health disparities, STI/HIV research, LGBTQ+ health

Just a thought...If I was not accepted into the Epi concentration, would I be able to ask for consideration for another track? Or would I need to re-apply in the next cycle?

Really hoping I get in to my top choice and hopefully can secure some funding.
Wishing the best of luck to everyone!

Has anyone received a decision about the Dartmouth Hybrid MPH program yet? Saw there have been some decisions posted about the Accelerated program but anxious to know about the hybrid one.

I received my acceptance on the 18th, and I think I saw someone else comment about an acceptance within the last week. Did you interview?

In case anyone was wondering, I shot an email to the office:

"We have not determined funding at this time. We are hoping to have our first round of funding going out the beginning of February."

Has anyone heard back from columbia DrPH program or JHU part time MPH epidemiology program?

I am still trying to decide whether or not I want to apply to the University of Michigan and Brown University. I have done as much of my own research as possible, but I live in a place where I do not have the ability to talk about public health programs with anyone and bounce ideas around- I was wondering if anyone who feels very strongly about either of these programs could make a case?

Hey, did you hear back from UCSD? Did you also apply to their MPH fellowship?

I have not yet -- I submitted right before the first round deadline and received an email on Friday that my application is now under review. What did your timeline look like (app submit / notification under review / interview request / acceptance notification)?

Sophas was verified on 11/17, app was under review 11/30, was contacted about interview the week of the 14th and got my acceptance that same week after my interview.

Does anyone know how long it takes for JHU to get back to us?? They're rolling right?

I applied to the MHS program and I heard back about an interview/decision in a week for one program and then ~3 weeks for another (mid December to first week of jan)

Hi, Anyone got any form of scholarship from UPenn's MPH program? How else does one pay for tuition out there w/o breaking the bank? Any ideas, anyone? It is my top choice. I got into their program.

UPenn can offer anywhere between 30% to 70% off tuition. I am not sure how often they provide it however it mentions these aid packages on their website.

Did I recall correctly that you already have a few solid acceptances?

If so, would you pick Michigan or Brown over the schools you already have acceptances for?

I submitted my app for upenn a few weeks ago, I got a notification a few days after that it was verified on SOPHAS, but never heard anything from upenn. Are they supposed to give me a portal login, etc. ?

What program did you apply for? Congratulations!!!!
Thank you! I am still waiting to hear back from some schools. Best of luck to you!

Hopkins- MSPH in Human Nutrition (in Department of International Health)- will be attending and accepted offer
Harvard- MPH Epi (Nutritional Epi concentration)
Tufts- dual degree- MPH Epi and MS Nutrition Interventions, Communication, and Behavior Change
All others- MPH Nutrition/Public Health Nutrition

Please feel free to PM me for more info if you are interested!

They send you an invitation for interview after a couple of weeks. Interview request is sent to about 90% of their applicants but if you do not get it, it doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t be accepted. As for the portal login, I have not received any. I’m guess until after February.

Anyone else BU application JUST get forwarded fot review?
