MPH / MSPH 2021: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anyone have insight into Columbia's MPH program to study global reproductive/maternal epidemiology? I recently heard from 2 alumni who studied repro epi there: one who highly recommended the school and one who said to go elsewhere. Feeling very confused/lost as this was my top school, but the alumni recommending against it really freaked me out... (They said there were not enough strong repro epi faculty to make it worthwhile.)

It's been 2 weeks since I interviewed for Columbia HPM and no response yet. Anxiety has been at an all time high and it looks like we will not be hearing back this week. I think I have only seen like 2-3 people get accepted to the program already but this wait (and the interview process) is dragging on for wayyyy too long 😫😫
Don't worry too much yet! I applied October 5th, interviewed January 20th, and heard back 2 days ago, but only by checking the portal. I still haven't gotten an email. So it took about 2 weeks from my interview to get a decision.

I got 3 acceptance letters all at once yesterday. Lol. UC Berkeley, Emory, UNC.
Waiting on the financial package letter and results from Columbia, Yale, Harvard.

Oh. I went on facebook and checked their incoming student groups. Yale group has 150 people. Given how many students they usually admit, I think there is still room for at least another 100. hahaha
Congratulations! May I ask what program you applied to at UC Berkeley?

Which program for UC Berkeley? Congrats!

I'm waiting on Brown, too. But honestly if I got in JHU w/ $$$$$ I'd be going there immediately. 😁
Hahah i'm just a bit concerned with the city. I'm an international student from Canada so I'm scared I won't get used to the environment.

Accepted into Emory for GLEPI!!!! No word on financial aid yet, which will be one of the biggest factors when making my decision. I'm leaning toward GSU since they have assistantships to cover tuition and provide a stipend, plus I have already taken the majority of their core through the Graduate Certificate so I could finish the MPH in only one year...but Emory has such a great program and so many interesting classes and the name does go far...what a decision! 😵

I’ve been lurking here for the past week and I finally decided to post today because I checked my UMich portal and saw that there was a new “View admission recommendation” link available. I didn’t receive an email, I just checked and it said I had been recommended for admission. Just passing this on to see if any of your statuses changed. Does that mean I was accepted? I’m so confused lol and can’t seem to get excited about it until I see an official letter or email! I applied to Health Behavior and Health Education MPH.

Congratulations!! What concentration did you apply to at GWU? I was admitted to MCH in December and am yet to hear back on financial aid :/
I also got into the MCH program at GWU but did not hear back about scholarships/financial aid! Were the people who were offered already contacted or do we still have a chance?

Anyone have info on the Emory admitted students Facebook page (or any other platforms tbh)? I remember seeing something about it last week but I can’t seem to find it anymore

got in OHSU-PSU for Epi! yayy
congratulations!! i applied for the MPH in health management and policy in December and they said i should hear from them in mid-March. So lucky that you heard back so early!! the anxiety is killing me lol.

Just got $42k over two years from GWU! (Unclear if some of this is need-based aid but I think so?) Received my acceptance back in mid-December.
Wow! Congratulations!!!! Did you have to submit a separate application for this Aid/scholarship?

Has anyone started applying to TA and RA positions?
from my narrowed search it seems you cant search for positions unless you have a student account to begin with. Which would mean you need to commit to a school first. Also, TA positions are usually for PhD students or 2nd year MPH students.

I will probs get some type of job. I worked in sexual assault advocacy last semester, so I'm interested in that. I'm not applying to stuff until I commit somewhere, so don't worry you're not behind.

are you looking for this one: Rollins School of Public Health, Class of 2023

Is the CSS profile required to be considered for aid? I've only completed the FAFSA so far

CSS Profile has a list of all the schools that require it and whether this applies to international or domestic students! Out of the 8 schools I applied to, only GW required it.

An update to everyone waiting on Columbia financial aid! There was an update to my financial aid portal: it doesn't have my aid yet but it does now list the yearly fees required of all students. So slight progress hahaha. But I assume this means they're finally starting to go through aid packages or something; until today my portal was completely blank.

?? I logged into Columbia portal for my daily anxiety inducing research and the page changed to Congratulations?

" Congratualations and Welcome to Columbia Public Health! Below you will find additional information on upcoming events, department information and next steps. Begin by completing your decision reply form!"

did I just get accepted?
EDIT: next morning (~16 hours) the page went back to applicant page. No acceptance
