MPH / MSPH 2022: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have submitted my app on 11/30 and been interviewed on 12/23. They told me that the decision will be told between late Jan and early Feb.
Yeah I've been told the same, how did your interview go? I am a little skeptical about mine, i did ask a lot of questiones and the whole thing went over 30 min, how much weightage do these usually have in an application?

Hi everyone. I know it's a really anxiety-inducing time right now waiting for acceptances to come in. I'm excited for all of you -- congrats on those of you who have decisions already and good luck to those waiting! I'm a first year Emory MPH health policy student and happy to answer general questions about Rollins and/or HPM!

Has anyone received a decision from UNC yet? Specifically, the Health Behavior concentration? I completed everything in early November and have not heard back yet. Hoping to hear back in the next couple of weeks...😬

Has anyone heard from Johns Hopkins online/part-time MPH for summer 2022?

Not yet! Waiting patiently...

I haven't heard a decision, but they did email me yesterday about a small issue with my application. I also applied in early November so it seems that they are currently reviewing those applications. I applied to EQUITY but Health Behavior was my second choice. Hoping that means that your decision will come soon!

thank you to everyone who recommended checking OPUS! I found out I was admitted to Emory GH but would have never known if I hadn't checked OPUS!

My top choices are Hopkins and Berkeley. I got in touch with 2 professors whom I am interested in working with them and they responded very kindly! I have submitted my application very late compared to the others here and feel a bit unqualified 🙁 I wish everyone can get into their dream schools!

How soon after you applied did you get access to OPUS? I applied in late December and have not gotten access or received confirmation that my application has been received.

I know this question wasn’t directed at me but I applied on 1/5 and received an email on 1/7 that my application was forwarded to my first choice for review, and on 1/8 an email about how to get access to OPUS. If I were you I’d email them or check here NetID and Initial Password and see if it has an ID and password for you. Good luck!

hi! I applied in late September and got the email that my application had been routed to my first choice department on December 14th. I also got the access information to OPUS on that same day.

Mine was about 25 min.
From the official email, the admission officer told me that they would only interview shortlisted applicants.
So I think we should be happy about that : )

Oh they said that? thats great then, i read on the website that the interview is a part of the admission process for hpm and assumed its for everyone. But i really hope to god that its not the deciding factor.

Does anyone know when GWU will be releasing information on Financial Aid and Merit Based Grants?
I received a decision from GW on 12/6 and heard about my financial aid on 1/6, although there was a problem with my SSN so they might have released it earlier if that was not an issue. I would say 3-4 weeks after an admissions decision sounds about right!

Thank you! All we have to do is fill out the financial aid form right? I also had the same issue with my SSN.

Mine definitely didn't have missing materials and I didn't send anything additional after applying so I don't think it really means much in terms of them having your full application! I looked through the thread from last year and from what I can gather it seems similar to an "under review" notification! So the timeline probably depends on what track you applied to as I think the tracks are reviewed separately (I applied to the SBS).
Thank you for giving me some peace of mind. 😊 I applied for the Yale MPH in Health Policy and finally received the email today stating my application is complete! Now the waiting game begins...

(It was "received" on 12/16 and "complete" today 1/13.)

Yes! I emailed the financial aid office about my SSN and they fixed it and sent my financial aid over the same day, they were very helpful!

Thank you! I emailed them and they said they updated my financial aid records to have my SSN.

I just checked my portal for columbia and before it said id# and then said health policy and management below that. i just checked it again right now and it just says id#. Does this mean anything?

I just got the SSN email. I think it is odd that this is happening to so many people!

My Executive MPH app was received on 12/14 and complete today 1/13 too! Waiting game begins 🤞

The same thing happened to me and I am also wondering

Just done the interview for Mailman HPM… how long did you wait before you hear about the admission decision?

I think Columbia is going to release the decisions only after all the interviews are done. I had mine on 5th Jan, hoping to receive a decision in the next week or so.

@aus2021 I didn't have an interview, interviews might just be for HPM and I applied for SMS. The ID# part happened to me too though so I was sharing the confusion

My Michigan portal updated to include a new 'View Admission Recommendation' link!

The admission recommendation page says, "You have been recommended for admission ... Your admittance will become official upon certification by the School of Public Health's Office for Student Engagement and Practice."

No email yet, hoping it comes soon so I can be sure!

I'm filling out the CSS for George Washington - for those of you that have filled it out, I just want to confirm it looks like there isn't any way to fill it out without submitting a parent's financial information?

Just got into Yale advanced professional mph today! FYI I applied late November and was verified 12/9!
Hey! What's your profile like?
I applied in November too. Haven't heard back yet. Just wondering if my profile wasn't up to the mark!

I also realized this, wondering what role it plays considering we file FAFSA as independent for grad schools?

I noticed a couple of you mentioning your SOPHAS calculated GPA, so I went to check and SOPHAS calculated my law school GPA in conjunction with my undergrad GPA because I went to the same school for both. Unfortunately, they listed them as one average "GPA score" instead of noting the separate entries. (I had a 3.98 in undergrad and a 3.37 in law school.)

Should I be worried about how this looks? Should I email SOPHAS? Am I being anxious over nothing? Thoughts/advice appreciated! 🙂
