Nova interviewees - were u rejected yet?

I think it was Dr. Brodie if that's her name, and then Sue-Ann? I don't remember their names but I really wanted to be interviewed by the other pair of interviewers. Oh well.

yea same here! I had 2 ladies but I wanted Dr. Lippman to interview me. I don't even know there names, they didnt even give me their email addresses so I couldn't even send a thank you letter.

Hi ... I was just curious to know when you interviewed and how long after they told you you would hear from them... did you hear in that time? If not, how long after did your status change to "waitlisted"
 
I interviewed in october. status changed and stayed as wait listed since december 2nd or so...

A few of my classmates were accepted really late. Basically they see thousands off applications and i would say 90% of them would make awesome dentists. Don't give up it is still 6 months before classes start. Hang in there, there will be people that drop from Nova because it is pricey. Anyway I wish you all the best of luck, and maybe I will see you guys here next year

Sorry that I didn't respond sooner, just been trying to finish my senior year. Anyways, thank you so much for your kind words. They are much appreciated and I REALLY hope that I get a chance to speak with you next year!

Mine switched to offer accepted. I'd recommend sticking in touch and whatnot.

maaan, I interviewed back on Nov 21st and still no aadsas change (still says invited for interview as it has forever), phone call or letter of any kind.
 
did anyones aadsas updates include "offer accepted?" i sent my deposit in jan 15 and its still offer made....

i did call them a few wks ago... they did say they received my deposit.... i have an email confirmation for the deposit so if anything goes wrong i guess i'll be okay?

I have not received the email yet... but can access my email account...
 
oh i asked for an email confirmation because i paid with a cc and it was close to the jan 15th date. so i guess if i'm able to access my webstar i'm okay hah its nice to get a new school email kind of feel official hah
 
What is going on?!?! I have been trying to be patient and wait to see what's going to happen. Yet, I am starting to feel a little uneasy and would just like to know where they are at in their process. Does anyone have any updates on when more acceptances might be sent out????

Also, does anyone know how many seats are left??

Nagore:

I would be happy to share such details. My post-bacc was a two part academic throw down.

1 year was extra undergrad courses such as genetics, micro, topics in biochem, cell bio. I took those at Loyola Chicago.

Following that, I got my MS from Johns Hopkins.

Feel free to ask any more questions.

Hey Hordel, was your AADSAS status shown? I am waitlisted and look for the good news within next couple of weeks.

Currently, there is NO SPOT available at NOVA. They are waiting to see who will pay. They will call us and let us know if they have spots available.

I am not trying to freak you out. In fact, I would like to share my info with others. I got an email reply from Alex Lichtman yesterday. She is an administrative assistant in dental admissons.

Here is what she told me:

As of today we do not have any spots available. We are waiting to see who will pay. If we have spots available we will call you and let you know.
 
Deposits are due by the Feb. 15th. So, movement should starts again, soon!
 
Technically Saturday, then, since post office doesn't work Sunday.


The letter states "acceptance fees is due no later than February 15,2009."

My letter states, "...an acceptance fee of $1000 is due no later than February 16, 2009"

So, I have until Monday.

Well, I guess I should prepare myself for the bad news. At this point I haven't even been waitlisted. I have sent three different e-mails trying to get some information on where I stand, but as of yet I still haven't gotten any real information back because they keep telling me that my file hasn't been returned yet (I don't know what this means but it doesn't seem good). Everyday I keep looking on AADSAS and my message machine to FIANLLY get some encouraging feedback but to no avail. I am feeling rather lost at this point and am just starting to really feel defeated. Congrats on your waitlisted status and I wish you the best.
 
you might want to call and ask. they are pretty good about picking up their phones now... i don't know if i've been lucky but i've called 3 times this wk and they picked up after 3 rings. maybe you could call and get a more direct answer?

would you mind telling me a bit more about your MS program...was it a master's in science program (as opposed to biomedical, etc.). how many people are accepted into their program and lastly, could you direct me to any info. on this program? Thank you so much! I tried locating any info. but there were many different programs to choose from.

Sure. It was an MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. Before I finished, they made a move to start offering more online classes (I took all mine at the main, AKA Homewood, campus in Baltimore).

You need to take 10 classes to graduate and NEED go get Dean consent to take more than 2 classes a semester (reason being, many people work in labs during the day). If you work, the faculty will not let you take more than 2 classes a semester (I suppose you could lie). I did not work full-time (20 hr/week in a dental office) and finished mine in one calender year.

Application vs. acceptance? I havent a clue.

$2560 per class.

Hordel, please do not go to the negative side yet. I am a pessimist also, but I believe that having no decision may be the good news. Your status may change to "offer made" on or after Feb 15. Let's try to be at the positive side for at least this month, and then if anything goes wrong, we may look for other solutions entering March. You were a nice guy when I met you, and you definitely deserved to go to NOVA. Cheer up and good luck!

You were a good guy as well and I enjoyed getting to meet you. I am hoping for the best but that is about it. I truly hope to see you there next year, but if not then I wish you the best of luck!! Thanks for the encouargment!

So basically, if our status didnt change yet to "waitlisted" then we should not be expecting an acceptance after Feb. 15th right? Because the people who they will contact are on their waitlist if any spots open up then...
 
well who are they going to accept first the people that were waitlisted or the people that have yet to hear back. I interviewed on Dec 3rd and nothing has changed on my aadsas status and havnt got anything in the mail.

good question! i also interviewed the third with no feedback. i really hope they consider us first b/c i need an acceptance somewhere...this is so frustrating!

Can someone post the date on their letter when their deposit is due when they get accepted after Feb. 15th?
