How long post interview can we know about a decision? I interviewed last Friday on the 17th and I know the committee met this Wednesday. Last year when I was alternate listed I interviewed 2/25 and the letter was dated 2/29, but I called on of the secretaries today and they told me it would be another 1 to 2 weeks before I should hear anything. For those who got in how long did it take to know and who did you speak with?

Anyone have problems with their online application? I filled out all the items on the checklist, but had an error message as I submitted the credit card payment, which told me to call the bursar's office. I called her and she said that my telephone number that I gave her didn't match the one on my application (I told her the only 2 numbers I listed were my home and cell phone). Then she said that there was a resident check on my application (is this normal?). She basically told me to wait until today because the cc payment may have gone through. But after checking it today, my application still takes me back to the payment screen.

I've tried contacting the admissions department, and no one has answered or returned my calls. Hopefully I can get this resolved because I'm a little behind anyway. Also, does it say anywhere on the application where to send the committee letter of recommendation?

"Last" year, I interviewed on Friday Jan 11, and came away with the understanding that decisions would be made and communicated on Wednesday Jan 23. My acceptance letter was dated Jan 18 and I received it Jan 28. I live 3000 miles from Florida, and the letter was regular registered postal mail.

Dr. Silvagni reviews every post-interview decision, supposedly on Wednesdays, and if he's traveling or whatnot, that leads to a delay.

Hang in there.

At my interview they told us 2-3 weeks...I got a little antsy after 2 weeks and called the admissions office and they forwarded me to an admissions lady who told me that I was accepted. I was interviewed on Sept 11 and found out Sept 29

I have been having a bunch of trouble being able to reach someone to talk to in the admissions office. anybody have a number other than the 1139 extension that I might be able to talk to a a live person with?

For those of you who have interviewed or been accepted I was wondering if you could help me out. I am nervous that I am applying a bit late in the process (Just submitted my AACOMAS this week 🙁 ). I am from South Carolina and want to attend NSU first choice. I graduated from WOfford College with a BS in biology and neurouscience. I have a 3.77 non sci GPA, 3.25 sci GPA (C in organic really hurt me) and a 3.49 cumm GPA with a 27T MCAT. I have good volunteer ECs, 200 hours in SPartanburg regional healthcare, 3 major research projects one at the genomics institue at Clemson University, and work now full in the ER back home as a multi skilled tech with a bunch of DOs. I have a LOR from a DO at work, 2 from research mentors, and my committee eval. I am nervous about where I stand considering I wont be getting everything in until probably mid to late November. What do you think my chances of acceptance this year could be from those of you who have already been there? Thanks for your help

anyone from the 10/17 group hear anything?? they committee met WED. it's SATURDAY! i know that sounds ridiculous but seriously, how long are they planning on taking? i (obvi) haven't been able to reach anyone there.

they told us after the committee meets it typically takes them 7-10 days to get the decisions out

Your MCAT is good for DO, NSU average is about 25 or so and you killed the writing section. I just interview friday 10/24. What was your breakdown btw? I think your clinical experience will definitely help as well as the fact you have worked along side DO's. The research is also a plus (hope you get a Ph.d as one of your interviewers like I did!). I think you have a good chance at getting an interview. Had you applied earlier I think your chances would have been significantly greater.

My MCAT breakdown was 10 BS, 10 V, and 7 PS. I am a little worried about the C I got in organic since that pulled my science GPA down to 3.25. I hope I still have a shot at this point. If I get an interview and depending on when, I feel like I will have a decent shot of acceptance but this late in the game I dont know how that will affect the whole process given the fact that people are already being accepted and filling spots before my AACOMAS is verified so that I can begin on my secondary. I really like NSU and hope it is not too late.

Just got an email from Ellen Rondino saying I got accepted. It says I will be receiving an acceptance letter in the mail within a week. But I didn't get a call, I thought NOVA always called and didn't email. Oh well as long as they don't send me a "this was a mistake" email I'm good.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hardy::clap:
So are you going to go to NOVA instead of KCOM??

I interviewed on 10/21 and recieved an e-mail today of my acceptance. They said they would send me an snail-mail letter later in the week.

I only had two other interviewers in my group so they may have been able to get through us quickly.

And I thought I did really bad in the interview, but I guess you can never really gauge these types of things.

Hey everyone! I got my acceptance letter for the class of 2013 at NSU! I'm waiting on a couple of schools but I definitely think NSU is for me! Is anyone planning on going there for sure?

I'm all ready to send out my supplemental but I have one question...as far as the question that states to list all the schools you have applied to this year or that you have applied to in the past...did you have to list all the schools which you also applied LAST YEAR and all the decisions with that?

I listed all schools and all decisions. It was easy for me b/c last year i only submitted 1/7 secondaries so it was easy to type in. Just let them know everything,

I just put down the schools I applied to this year. I really don't think it matters, they just want to know I guess.

yay yay i got in!
unless i hear back from any in state schools, i am goin to nova.
can we start a nsu class of 2013 thread?? 🙂 🙂 🙂

ps. should i call them and double check that the acceptance email wasn't sent by mistake???

I STARTED ONE A WEEK AGO!!! It would be awesome to get to know classmates this early in the game!

😀:hardy:😛😍NSUCOM C/O 2013😀:hardy:😛😍

I actually swung by NSU today after my FIU interview to show my dad. Some people were waiting in chairs to interview, which was entertaining to see. I'm still up in the air though. I am kind of hoping for other schools to come through, but if not, then NSU it is.

For whoever's interviewing tomorrow... the girls giving the tour are awesome!! Get excited. 🙂

I've heard quite the opposite. 😛

I just like giving a hard time, even when I don't know who it is.

I thought Nova was great before, during, and after I interviewed. Certainly I was thrilled to be accepted, but I've continued attending interviews just to be sure. I've been accepted to all the schools I've interviewed at so far (Praise God!) including an MD college. I'm attending my last MD interview tomorrow (unless UCF finds my phone#). Then I'll decide for sure. None have "felt right" to me like Nova did. I just have to think of the big picture and then decide. I think I'm going to visit one more time and ask a few more questions. I hope I can coordinate something with the admissions office.

I just got an email from NSU, and they had attached a copy of my application, .pdf format. When I go to open it, it asks for a document password. None of my created passwords work, anyone have this happen to them?

Yeah I can't log into the system either and can't get a new password...

Mosspoh should put "You're fine" in his forum signature.

I would, but people might think I am coming on to them. 😉

But seriously, I had a 3.3 and a 27 MCAT. I was invited for an interview when I had a 25 MCAT. My science gpa is barely a 3.0. I got accepted, and I have heard of the scattered person with a lower mcat than me and same gpa getting accepted too. So, if you have any of those qualifications you stand a shot. I do have an ungodly amount of extracurriculars and I was early in applying.

We had similar grades. 3.31 and 3.04 bcpm on aacomas with 28 mcat. And I don't even have that many extracurriculars. Being a nurse helps👍

so i interviewed at NSU on October 10th and they said it would take two weeks for a decision to be made. I called yesterday and they said it would be a month longer. What is up with that?

Am I invisible? Why doesn't anyone notice me?😱

Why is my application so bad or something? Why have I heard nothing?:scared:

cliche response coming... it is still early in the interview season, how is your PS, LORs, ECs? Also I submitted my nova secondary 8/6 and didn't get my interview invite until 10/10.

The only thing I can think of is that I retook the MCAT and recently got my score. But what makes them know it's time to look at my application, that my new score should be in? (I indicated I'd be retaking). I'm so concerned that I've not heard anything from anyone.

Sometimes you're on hold. Sometimes there is something missing and sometimes you aren't complete in early July like me. I am also from a very very rural area of Florida, which I'm sure helped.

I was complete 8/15, then they lost signature page and I got a random interview invite 10/15 for 10/17 interview. Just keep calling and they will look at the app or at least tell you what you're missing so you can get it in real fast.

I am interviewing Friday! My first one! 🙂

Does anyone else have trouble getting in touch with someone in admissions? This is my 3rd day to call and I only get voicemails with full inboxes, so I can't leave a message. I've tried several different extensions too, but still can't find anyone.

I haven't tried calling yet, but I'm just about ready to start. I submitted all my materials September 4th and haven't heard anything since. I'd like to confirm that they received everything. What would be the best way to go about this?

I called and they said they got everything and were reviewing it; that was weeks ago.

I had my PS read by professors and after being edited many times, lots of people thought it was really good. I saw most of my LORs and they were excellent and I can't imagine the others are anything but good. My ECs are pretty standard: research, shadowing, volunteering, etc (and plenty of hours, etc) and then I have alot of leadership positions.

The admissions process is a crapshoot. A million people can be impressed with your P.S. and your stats or w/e but if there is something that the adcom doesn't like you're screwed.

😱 Yeah, I really wonder what that could be.:scared:
