If I had a choice (why don't I have any options? :scared:) I'd pick whatever worked out that I missed the least time from my job.

Red eye is also considered early morning. Its not just overnight.

Oohh I would not chance that I don't think; there could be delays. What time does interviews start? I know it's not far from the sirport but still....

I mean it would be great not to have to pay for a hotel but I'd be afraid of dealys.
 
I wouldn't either unless it is a direct flight. There is one from DC to Fort Lauderdale and I'm sure some to Miami, but the cab ride to nova from miami airport would cost more than flight probably. Most land after they want you there anyway it seems. I have a hard time with the hotel stuff because I never stay in one down there. I just stay with my brother

I finally got through to someone in the admissions office and they checked, they do have everything, but she couldn't tell me how long it would be before I would hear anything.

I was never told I was complete, they never acknowledge the receipt of my LORs or anything but the signature page, also I can't login to their webstar thing at all, and the copy of my secondary that they emailed me after I submitted is corrupt and won't open, lol.
 
It took me a while to figure out WHICH webstar link. I recall it being very counter intuitive to me. Just call the support people up and they'll fix it.

I feel very lucky to be on the early side of things. My biggest issue was getting a hold of someone about decision status and not seeing the decision on webstar!
 
Hey does anybody know if NSU-COM has a dress code?
 
how long did it take for the signature paper to be received? mine has been done for almost two weeks now, but it's not up. I live in california btw...is postal service just really slow these days?
 
Does anyone who is already a student know where I can get Nova Med tee-shirt or hoodie since my dad wants one for his birthday. I tried calling the bookstore and then they told me to call the school, but nobody seemed to know where to get one from. Where do all of the students get theirs from.
 
Google "nova southeastern bookstore" and go to the apparel section. They have at least one tee I know of.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I've been away for awhile. Does anyone have any good advice for a cheap cheap hotel near NOVA? I interview on the 24th!! Woooo can't wait, got the email on the 10th, saved it from my spam box last night and called and scheduled it this morning. Just booked my flight but am trying to find a hotel on the cheap. Thanks guys and good luck to you all!

Hahah I actually started laughing out loud. the only reason I know it's real is because they have my money from two application seasons. Someone has to be cashing my checks.

The Class of 2011 is actually selling DO Dad and NSUCOM Mom shirts which are really cool. They will be much cheaper than any that you would get at the bookstore. Just FYI.

so what is NSU's turnaround time on scheduling interviews? I tried to get in contact with them today (phone and email) and didn't get a response; would I totally be pestering them if I called again tomorrow?

I'm kinda antsy b/c I've got another interview in Miami in less than two weeks and it would be nice to make only one trip. busy grad student and all that, ya know.
 
Pester the hell out of them. I wouldn't leave 18 voicemails but calling until you get a response and leaving a voicemail every other day is perfectly fine.

By the way, Nova is my first choice, unless I get into Western! For all of you who have interviews coming up, its a nice campus and the students seem pretty happy there....despite the rampant disorganization. There are lots of extra programs, too, like MPH, MBA, Masters of Medical Informatics (something like that), and a research fellowship.👍

I do that one too. Most people start out the morning at their desks and then migrate away and start running errands.
 
I haven't heard anything about LOR's and Nova. Do they accept LOR's from Interfolio? I am working on my app now and couldn't find anything about recommendations. I really hope I don't have to have my letter writers fill out one of NSU's eval forms. Thanks!

What exactly is an FBI outfit? A suit and fake gun?

Or you could always wear one of those classy "FBI: female body inspector" shirts I always see around DC. :laugh:

I paid no attention whatsoever to the evaluation forms each school put out. It would be utterly unacceptable to have to go back to your letter writers to get more effort out of them. Get Interfolio to mail the letters if Nova doesn't take electronic form.
 
ok, so some of the interview feedback is a bit contradictory. people have but down both "in a group" and "one on one." do they mean multiple people interviewing one person at once or is it really one interviewer per interviewee?

When I was there, we were told that it is pretty variable depending on the day. Sometimes it will be one on one, whereas other days may be 2 or even 3 people interviewing you. I had 2 people. It wasn't stressful at all. They had cookies and lemonade sitting there. It felt fairly conversational. The cruelest part was having cookies sitting there before I had lunch...They said to go ahead and have some, but I don't think stuffing my face full of oatmeal raisin was a good idea.
 
I have my interview Oct 24. I will be getting there Oct. 23 in the afternoon. Is there anything exciting to do there (I have never been to FL). Who else has an interview on 24th?!

nothing exciting.. there is an arcade around there with go karts/ bowling/ one roller coaster.. Or you can drive to Miami.
 
Has anyone from the 10/10 interviews been contacted or notified yet?
