Hello all!

Hope this letter finds you well!

My name is Jackie and I am a graduate of the 2007 class..

I am writing to let you know that my house in Hollywood FL, less than
a mile from the beach! Is available for rent...
It's great for roommates as each bedroom has it's own bathroom
attached... Great space.. Travel is in the opposite direction back to
NSU re: traffic. Near downtown Hollywood nightlife...

Easy access to major highways and hospitals... ie: Memorial Regional,
Broward General and Aventura...
I am currently in NYC doing my residency.. but if you are interested,
please email me and I'll be glad to negotiate the price!

Also, if you are alone... there is a cottage in the back of the house
that is a separate 1/1 that is also available!

All prices are negotiable!

Thanks for looking!
The pics don't do it justice!

I hope more people withdraw...I am really hoping for a spot at this school. I interviewed there in early Dec. and loved it. I would go there in a heartbeat. When I was there, Ellen Rondino said we would not hear anything until after the holidays. The suspense is killing me - please let me in, NSU!!

Just withdrew from a Jan. 7th interview if anyone wants to move up.

Thx for posting your cancellation! I was able to move my interview up by a month! 🙂

I'm not sure if anyone is comfortable talking about it, but how does Nova reject applicants? I gather it's with a physical letter, but does online status change first?

I should write a letter of intent. I really, really love this school.

I am really getting anxious to hear back from this school. 4 weeks and counting, HURRY UP!! I really want to go here

I am so sick of waiting... was complete November 16th... and just want to know already... even if I'm rejected... hearing anything at this point is better than the silent treatment

agreed. ive been complete here since sept. 16!

After hearing such great things about Nova, I really want to add this school to my list. I've already submitted my primary, several secondaries...been complete since mid-September. I have average stats and great activities. Do you think its too late to add the school? Thanks!

Well, classes are back in session so hopefully you guys will hear back soon! As a current first year med student at Nova, this place is great, I'm loving my time here (well.... most of the time... It's pretty hectic lol), and I wish you all the best!

Where do the majority of HPD grad students live? are there certain apartments or communities that everyone pretty much lives or is everyone scattered out around davie and the other local cities?

I was accepted last year and will be finally starting next fall. I'm planning on flying down once or twice this spring to check out different places to rent. If anyone is looking for someone to live with, I'm hoping to find a place with either two or three bedrooms.
I'm 24 y/o male from cleveland I have spent the last two years completing research at CWRU. I'm pretty laid back kinda guy and easy to get along with. looking for someone who is going to take school seriously (duh #1 priority) but also won't lock themselves in their room all weekend. I enjoy going out and being social when I have the time. Prefer someone who tries to stay active and works out, as I'm a former college athlete.
Other then that I'm open to just about anyone. hit me up and we'll talk about it.
Matt

goodluck to everyone out there still waiting

Did everyone find out their admissions decision on Webstar before they received the decision in the mail?? I interviewed on Dec 3rd and they told us that decisions would be made the first week in January. I just called and was told "decisions will be mailed out next week" and nothing else. I'm worried because I have a deposit ($1500) due to another school by next Friday, but Nova is my first choice.

I interviewed at a similar time, and I believe Ms. Rondino said we'd hear back the second week of January. Now that we're technically in the second week of January, I've been refreshing Webstar about every half hour, haha.

From reading this thread, I got the impression that your online status may change to "provisional acceptance" before you receive a physical letter or email. If I recall correctly they don't like the reject via email, but I'm not sure if that's right. Someone posted months ago about their decision status changing to "alternative status," but I don't know if that meant rejection. If anyone gets any change please post.

That was my impression too and like you I'm not sure if anything will change if the result is a rejection. So yes... anyone that gets a Webstar status change, PLEASE send word 🙂 Then at least have a better guess at what's going on! Until then I'm trying to avoid refreshing my window every 10 minutes by avoiding my computer as much as possible!

Well, it's mid-afternoon on a Friday. I suppose we won't hear anything until next week. I have Lady Gaga tickets for next Wednesday, so I suppose it will be a celebration or a consolation by then:xf:

the two biggest places students live are sunforest and palm trace. sunforest is across the street and palm trace is less than a mile. after that students live anywhere in plantation or pembrook pines. tons of apartments in both of those. i like plantaton best. you really dont need to go more than once to apartment hunt. and for those that cant afford coming down - both sunforest and palm trace are safe bets and very close. also available is student housing just so you know...

what kinda college athlete? d1?

I went apartment hunting earlier this month, and i checked out both sunforest and palm trace landings. Honestly, i didnt like sunforest and palm trace landings was really over priced for what your getting. I'm from orlando so the cost of living really isn't that different. Imho, go on craig's list and search for places in plantation or davie....the prices are better, and you can get lucky and find someone who owns a condo that is willing to barter a deal for a really kick@$$ place. Ive been looking recently and I've found place that are going for like $980.00 a month, with almost 150 sq. ft. more than a 2/2 at palm trace. If you look around, you can really find good spots. Besides, plantation is only 5-10 minutes from Nova, and you'll be close to all the super markets, restaurants, and amenities. I got a more cozy feel from plantation, but thats only if you are willing to commute the 6-8 miles. Just my 2 cents.

I called Nova last thurs. and they said the Dec. 3rd group will get the decision next week. I would love to go to this school! I just got waitlisted at LECOM-B so an acceptance at Nova would be awesome.

Good luck to you guys! I know how stressful this can be.

yes, i live in plantation. its 3.5 miles straight north from nova off university. my rent is about 1120 for a 2/2 at about 1100 sq feet. dont know where youre looking and finding 980. i found one 2/2 in plantation under 1000 before and it was an awful neighborhood and what i could only assume was colombian drug deals outside the leasing office. my girlfriend freaked out, lol.

living in plantation is great. everything you said is true. the only downside is traffic down university at certain times of the day. a 10-15 min drive can easily turn into 40 during rush hours. oh and your car gets stolen. but thats not often 🙂

finding someone who is renting their condo is a great way to go. i have a few friends at royal grande doing this with very nice places.

are they sending out the acceptances today for the groups that interviewed in early December?

I was told "next week" when I called on Friday. Has anyone else heard anything more specific? That could technically mean Friday and I'm really hoping it doesn't since I have another deposit due Fri!

My status JUST changed... provisionally accepted 🙂 I interviewed 12/3

Congrats!! Worth the wait? 🙂

Yes, definitely! I know that provisionally accepted means accepted.... but I just need to have those papers in my hand! How long did it take you to get your acceptance package?

Alternate Status. 🙁 That hurts, oh well.

It was nice to visit the campus and I interviewed with a nice group of people.

12/3. I was really excited about this school 🙁

Edit to reply to above post: I would just be happy it didn't say alternate status, haha.

i wish i knew something about the dec 1st group. my status still says invited for interview

I'd say mine actually came a little faster and was more around one week. Though, I got mine in September so the turn around might have been a bit faster earlier in the application season.

I interviewed Dec. 15 and just got my status change to alternate status. I'm sooo upset because Nova is by far my number one choice. I called Nova to ask about alternate status and basically could not be given any information due to different stats for different years, and the fact that they don't rank their students put on alternate status. Does anyone know anything that Nova can't really tell me or have any success stories on getting accepted to Nova off the waitlist???

I have read around the forums about people sending in letter of intent/interest and how it has helped them get in after being waitlisted. I would definitely start writing one of those, possibly even ask your pre-med advisor or dean of your school to write you a letter. Good luck!!!!

Sorry to hear about your wait-list status. I also interviewed on Dec. 15th but my status has not changed yet (still says invited for interview). There's still hope though. I live 5 min from the school and know of a couple of people who have come off the alternate list (perfect time to white a LOI).

After having so many different usernames and passwords for all these schools, I forgot what mine is for Nova. Is it like some kind of general prompt, like SSN or AACOMAS id #? Thanks for the help guys.
