Same
They are supposed to be sending out Financial Aid packages in July after we register for classes, so I assume we can then take out whatever loans they offered in our financial aid package.

For those with an A, how long after the email did you receive something in the mail?

Current MS4 at TBR, open to answer questions if anyone has them

How do you like the program as a whole and how do you like the Tampa campus?
I heard that the FTL campus has more research opportunities, but do you feel that research is still readily available at the TBR campus?

Just got waitlisted here and it’s my top choice. 🙁 Anyone know much about the WL movement? Also, I already sent a LOI 2 weeks after my interview but it mentions they consider updates and LOIs in the formal letter. Should I update it and resend?? Or just sit back and hope for the best

@bm5360
I think they mentioned in the interview that last year everyone who was on the waitlist was eventually accepted.
I know that I sent a LOI after I was placed on the waitlist and I got accepted right away after doing so.
However, if you already sent your LOI then I wouldn’t send your LOI again, they received it the first time.
However, if you have a significant update then you can send an update letter and express continued interest in the update letter.
Otherwise, just sit back and wait.
Goodluck!!

I heard that the FTL campus has more research opportunities, but do you feel that research is still readily available at the TBR campus?
I like the program as a whole, every program has issues but I would choose it again. My favorite things about it were the location and the fact that 95% of classes were non-mandatory and uploaded online so you could teach yourself at your own pace. As someone not from Florida I would choose the TBR again due to things like lower traffic in Tampa, newer facilities, cheaper rent, etc. Research is better in Davie, I can't say how much better as I didn't attend but it's older and more established. That being said, there's a mandatory research class M2 year on both campuses everyone takes that most people get a pub with. I would not say research is "readily available" at TBR and you would definitely have to go out of your way for it as there is little research and obviously everyone wants it. With that being said, I was able to find a few doctors willing to help and pushed out multiple posters during my first two years.

This is super super helpful, thank you so much!!

I interviewed on 2/27 and they said they’re meeting on March 14 to discuss interviews. Does anyone know when we should expect to hear by?

IS A 3/6..... but not taking it. Hope it goes to one of you guys who are waiting

When I interviewed in August, they told me that decision take two-four weeks from interview to be released. For reference, I interviewed end of August and received a decision on mid-September.
They told us that the committee meets with the dean (who makes the final decisions) the week after the committee meets (usually on a Wednesday) Then decisions are released shortly after that (typically that Friday).

So if they are meeting on March fourteenth, then I would assume they are meeting with the dean around March nineteenth. So I would guess you would hear back around March twenty-first.
(Sorry spelling out the numbers, SDN doesn’t like when I type numbers from the app haha).

II in person on 3/18/25. Any tips about the interview or what questions they are going to ask?

Any insight about if the class is full or waitlist and waitlist movement?

Make sure you know why D.O. and why NSU!
I used this to prepare and it was honestly pretty helpful and representative of the types of questions they ask:
Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine - Fort Lauderdale Interview Feedback
I interviewed via Zoom (so not in-person)., but it seems fairly similar to the in-person interview days. I had 2 interviewers (it seems that most people did) who both interviewed you at the same time. The actual interview itself only took like 20 minutes. One of my interviewers was very nice and the other was actually grilling me more than I would have expected. However, just stay confident in your responses and you will be just fine! It seemed like my was the exception with the grilling interviewer, as almost everyone else I talked to said they had very chill interviewers!

Just be yourself and know yourself/experiences and you should be fine! They told us that we shouldn't be too nervous because if you get an interview invite, then they are seriously considering you and they just want to get to know you better!

It seems like almost everyone was either given an acceptance or placed on the alternate list (waitlist). They also recommended that if we get waitlisted to go ahead and write a letter of interest and that will help move us to the top of the waitlist (which is what happened to me and led to my acceptance).
They told us in the interview that last year they were able to accept everyone that was waitlisted (as they don't tend to over-interview the number of students they interview vs. the number of seats available). So, I would say this indicates there is typically a lot of movement.

Wishing you the best of luck!!

Waitlisted on Wednesday, sent a letter of interest on Thursday, accepted that Friday! It was a lot quicker than I thought and don’t know if this is the case for most scenarios this point in the cycle or not (as I was part of the first interview cohort so this was very early in the cycle).

Does anyone know what the suggested ($16,146.00) for books and supplies is for? That seems like a huge number for it so if anyone has any info that would be appreciatwd

I would look at the info. regarding required materials here: Newly Accepted Students
We are required to have an ipad (with specific apps), laptop, white coat, scrubs, NSU shorts and shirt for OPP, and additional equipment we may need which we will be provided information on later. It says that some students may purchase VR headsets themselves, but the schools provides them for us otherwise.
I am wondering if this is just a a heavily rounded-up number to include all of these possible costs just added up (like if we were to buy a new high-end laptop, Ipad, and the VR headset, etc. if we were to purchase everything possible.
I also thought I remember seeing something about how students used to have to purchase their own microscopes, but this is not a requirement anymore...so maybe they just never adjusted their books/supplies estimate to reflect this change.

I heard last year almost everyone got off the waitlist. Is that true?
I'm interviewing next tuesday and I want to go to this school

Yep! That is what they told us during our interview session. That doesn't mean that everyone will be accepted off the waitlist this year, but it does mean that they have a pretty big waitlist movement and that the chances are high. The way they explained it is that they don't really tend to interview more than number of seats available and if you received an interview invite they are serious about having in the class. The interview is just a way to get to know you better basically.
They also advised that if you are waitlisted, right a letter of interest and it will help move you up further up on the waitlist (which is what I ended up doing and it received an acceptance within the week).
Goodluck!!

Apparently they overestimate these numbers for precaution.

How many letters did u send?
Only one! But definitely I'd recommend trying to stay in communication if this is your number one school. @bm5360

Do you know if any of the campuses are full yet
Unfortunately I don't but if you receive an interview you're more than likely to get in, they hardly reject from what I've seen. They even stated that they don't over interview. @medstudentpls

Sorry for all the questions lol but I also was waitlisted on 03/08 (although the letter on the website was dated 03/05) and sent a LOI a few days after as it’s my top choice but still haven’t heard back. :/

No problem, ask away! I believe their waitlist is ranked (don't quote me on this), so you might have a lower position on the waitlist.
