Ahhh. I'm coming from CA too. That rocks.

"Did you say cookies.... were they delicious cookies?" (Dr. Cookie monster D.O.)

Nova has like a cookie fetish, btw. They serve 3 flavors at all the school functions. Its really weird. But everytime I tell people this, they think I am nuts.

Finshed my interview at Nova yesterday. The school is now my number 1 choice and I am hoping to hear a decision in a couple of weeks. I hope it isnt any longer than about 2 weeks, because some say 2 weeks but a lady in admissions said it should be about a month.

I really hope not, because LECOM-Erie wants a deposit by October 1st, which really made me mad because I thought they followed the traffic guidelines. And supposedly they wont budge on that.

By the way....Nova is friggin' amazing!

You will surely hear before Oct 1st, glad you liked it here. Does that mean you'd be withdrawing from CCOM as well if accepted here?

I havent been offered an interview at CCOM. But as it stands now, I would love to attend Nova.

Huh...guess I got an interview at NOVA! 🙂
Anybody happen to know what day of the week interviews usually are? Or how we go about scheduling them. I know we have to call, but do we get a few choices, or are we basically given free-reign?

There were some interviewees here today...NSUCOM should call you to set up your interview day. If they called and left you a message, though...by all means, you should get back to them regarding the date.

Last year they did interviews 2x/week I think and at least in my case I got to choose when I was available to come down. I'm OOS. They're really good about accommodating. Let me know if you've got anymore questions. 🙂

I'll post pictures of whatever anybody wants to see. Let me know.

How should I prepare for ethics questions please?

Thanks

I would not expect one from NOVA

I interviewed yesterday, amazing campus, delicious cookies. All the students were really friendly. We went into a lecture hall before class started, and a student yelled "Don't Do It!!" really loudly. It was hilarious 🙂

I hope to hear back before a month.

I want to leave no stone unturned. PLEASE someone how do I prepare for ethics questions? PLEASE I AM desperate

All this talk of cookies has me both intrigued and excited 😀

My interview went AWESOME and I loved the school, but I didnt get any cookie love in the interview. I just had to stare at them on the other side of the table.

Cry....

If we are not offered an interview.... will we still be offered a cookie?

yeah we're trying to think of fun and creative ways to welcome you into the auditorium during the interviews. the "dont do it" was a fun start. there is talk of a slow clap so dont be surprised if you walk into that one.

also ask your tour guide what class we're in and no matter what DO NOT walk into the histology lecture 🙂

Who aare you?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

What is the difference between internship and residency please

I'll be there the 15th too! Where are you guys staying? I heard the Comfort Suites is where most people stay? It would be fun if we all went out to dinner or something! I'm coming from Cali and don't know anyone...! 🙁

I'm at the comfort suites too. I think I'll use their shuttle service the whole time (to go to the airport and school) and just print out a map of the campus so I don't get lost.

im at the comfort suites too (i guess we all read these posts before...)! i think my flight gets in at 5:35 or something

the shuttle service seems to be the easiest, and we can all go together so we don't get lost!

Shuttle drops off at the Terry, and will pick you up as well. By far the best option.

so this morning i checked my webstar status and it said provisionally accepted and now it is back to invited for interview. i interviewed back on september 1st anybody else have this problem?

Provisionally accepted=you got it!!! Good for you. Also, if anyone wants a ride to school on interview day, let me know. I know how frustrating that process is and I can come get you. If the interview day starts at 9 you might have to come early with me (around 8) but you could see some of the school and sit in lecture maybe! Let me know and email me at [email protected]

Mine says "Invited for an Interview" and I interviewed on 9/3. Dont know why it would say one thing and then switch to another.

Also, what is provisionally accepted?? Does that mean accepted pending the completion of certain pre-reqs an applicant is missing or what? Why not just "accepted"?

I was eye-balling this thread today to see if anyone from NSU's August interview date heard back from them--keeping true to the two-week window.

i wonder if the shuttle will still be available at 11pm...

I think the shuttle runs until 12am. That's what they said when I called, and I hope its true because I arrive at like 10:30pm the night before.

Internship is the year right after medical school. Depending on your residency it can count towards your specific residency length. A simple google search can find a bunch of more specific information about all of this. Or better yet there are some really good books out there, not mocking you, but just letting you know there is some good stuff to get a grasp of all the info.

Thanks I saw some information and I was not clear I thought they were the same thing but some info says that they are and some says they are not. 🙂😍

don't be one of the late greenies! when will they learn, don't come in the front door?!

(fortunately for you interviewees, histo is on wed, so you won't have to be made fun of in front of oh, say, 300+ people)

This may seem like somewhat of an odd question as I tend to analyze things too much, but I was just wondering about the length guidelines for the essay prompts.

It says "As a general guideline, you should try to keep your answers to one page of text." Does this mean that if in a word document, it should be no more than one page length- or, if after typing it into the answer box that you should be able to read it in its entirety without scrolling? I also thought it was interesting that you can pick a font and size for your essay, I doubt it matters what anyone picks though haha.

Thanks in advance your help guys 😀, didn't see any questions on it earlier in the thread.

Anyone else interviewing Thursday Sept 17th?
I realized last night that the email confirmation they sent me a while back says Tuesday Sept 17th and that is obviously wrong. I emailed them asking for confirmation that it is Thursday, but have yet to hear back. I scheduled it for Thurs the 17th so I hope that is the correct date.

For the disclosure part, I just had a quick questions. I got a MIP (Minor in possession of alcohol) in my freshman year of college. It was dropped to a civil infraction and is not on my record anymore. Do I have to answer yes to this question still 🙁?

For the LOR I have my one from a DO, so that covers that one. Then I have two from Physiology professors (my hard science professors) but then they also say you need one from a liberal arts professor....

The only other LOR that I have are from a MD, a Kinesiology teacher, and a dentist that I knew really well (I thought thats what I wanted to be at first). What should I do???

I would simply suggest you try to get into contact with a liberal arts (non-science) professor that you've had in the past so you can get the ball moving on a LOR ASAP.... I'm not sure if there's anything else you can really do to satisfy that requirement

So... Just realized that I had tickets to Creed's reunion tour in Irvine the night before my interview... :bang: Why is this their only show in California?

Now to sell the tickets on StubHub and try to arrange a trip to see them in Vegas the weekend before... priorities, you know?
