I know we will not have time to watch TV in vet school 😛, but I was just curious what your favorite TV shows (including animal and non animal). I don't watch these shows religiously, I just try to find them whenever I have free time.

Animal:

Its me or the Dog
Dog 101
Cat 101
Animal Cops (sometimes I can't watch because of the conditions of many of those animals)
Use to watch AnimalER, but I don't know if it is on anymore.

Non-Animal:
Kitchen Night (UK version, US too drama filled)
Hells Kitchen
Top Chef
Iron Chef (yeah I know I am weird... most of my fav. shows being cooking related)
Simpsons
Family Guy
Robot Chicken
Harvey Birdman

Hmm...well, I don't have cable anymore, but these were some of the shows I loved growing up. 😉 I don't think most of them are on anymore, to be honest.

Animal
Emergency Vets
Emergency Vets Interns
Aminal Cops (all of them)

Non-Animal
House MD [I looveee this show.]
My Name is Earl
Iron Chef
Anything on Food Network pretty much except for a few shows

...wow, that's a really sad, short list. Guess it shows I rarely watch TV-TV anymore and watch DVDs the most. 😛

I actually don't live in a house that has a television (well, there's one in storage, but we don't have a digital converter, so it doesn't work), but I've recently gotten back into following Private Practice online. When I'm at other people's houses/back when I lived somewhere with a TV, I liked House, What Not To Wear, Friends reruns and Planet Earth.

Mythbusters
Man Vs. Wild
Castle
Bones
Psych
Monk (so sad it's over!)
Burn Notice
Supernatural

I don't watch animal shows... unless you count anything with David Attenborough. 🙂

I like Dexter, Top Gear, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, The Soup... Way behind on Grey's Anatomy...

My newest joy is Californication, though it's a bit like soft core porn sometimes. :d Next up: Weeds, Breaking Bad, Skins, Dead Like Me, The L Word... I just got Netflix on. Demand for the PS3 and I love it. 😀

Big Love, Brothers and Sisters, House, True Blood, Dexter, Animal Cops, Chelsea Lately, and the Office

I used to watch Animal shows back when we had National Geographic, Discovery and Animal Planet subscriptions..now we don't 🙁.

But my fave TV shows are:
House
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
Flashforward

Guilty pleasures are: Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill

And in the summer I pretty much watch TLC and Food Network nonstop (love The F Word, Say Yes to the Dress, Chuck's Day Off, Top Chef, etc).

Dexter
Breaking Bad
Greys Anatomy
House
Project Runway
Just getting into 'How I Met Your Mother'

I shouldn't be alive/I survived/I'm alive (3 diff shows about the same thing)
Mystery Diagnosis
Cats 101
Food Network-cake challenges & Top Chef
Myth Busters
Planet Earth

- Planet Earth (the one narrated by David Attenborough) - actually, anything David Attenborough for that matter (ditto twelvetigers!)
- House
- NCIS
- The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

I can't say I watch anything animal related. I don't have cable, and only get three channels on my antenna, none of which have anything animal related. I used to watch Animal ER and Campus Vets when I had cable.

Others:
House MD 😍
Scrubs
The Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad
Canada's Worst Driver/Handyman
Mythbusters

I like NOVA

That and House are all I have time for 😉

Aqua Teen Hunger Force, other Adult Swim shows
The Office
Arrested Development
True Blood
Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Flight of the Conchords
Scrubs
Greys Anatomy (old seasons)
And any Man v Wild, Discovery or Animal Planet shows.

Fringe

How I Met Your Mother

I don't have cable since I can't control myself around it (TLC, Animal Planet, Food Network, HGTV!!). It's better this way. I think.

I LOVE Mythbusters (lovelovelove). I also like Numb3rs, Lost (though I'm off it at the moment), and Grey's Anatomy - I'm WAY behind on this. Love House, and CSI. The real, original, Grissom CSI. None of this Miami/NYC junk, thankyouverymuch.

New shows:
Big Bang Theory
LOST (PREMIERES TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!)
Make it or Break it (don't judge)
occasionally American Idol
The Office
Project Runway

Old Shows:
Friends!!!!!!!!!!! (own all 10 seasons)
Hey Arnold
That 70s Show
Doug

Oh man, I remember taping (VHS!) the last episode of Friends and crying in high school because it was over. I loved that show.

OMG!!! hey arnold and doug!! haha what awesome shows! i miss them

I don't watch a TON of tv, mostly when I'm eating or doing some other mindless work, but when I do, It's mostly any one of these (no particular order):

Lost
The Office
Bones
Stargate (any of them)
Law and Order: CI or SVU

and the occasional Family Guy or South Park for the "WTF" factor.

Major nerd, right here! Perennial favorites include:

Star Trek (any of the series)
X-Files
Battlestar Galactica
Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis
Twilight Zone (original series)
Guilty nerd pleasure - Sliders (bad sci-fi is still sci-fi) 🙄

On a more mainstream basis I also really enjoy:

Seinfeld
The Office
30 Rock
Community
Parks and Recreation (Thursday night on NBC is my fave)

I watch House or NCIS, and that's about it. I have them both on DVD, so I usually just pop those in. It's easier. I'm hardly ever home and certainly don't have time to arrange my life around when those shows are on!

I can't believe I forgot these! My SO keeps buying seasons of House that we watch as we're going to sleep (it's a slow way of getting through a season though). NCIS has grown on me lately.

Mythbusters
Project Runway
Launch My Line
Shear Genius
Top Chef
Hell's Kitchen
No Reservations
Dirty Jobs
Top Gear
Hoarders

Occasionally I still watch CSI, but that's the only non-"reality" show I watch. I like watching people either make things or blow things up.

Non Animal Show
House
True Blood
Bones
The Soup
Cheslea Lately
So You Think You Can Dance
Dirty Jobs
Hells Kitchen
Jersey Shore

Animal Shows
Jockeys

I don't have cable, so I don't watch a lot of TV. But I have all 11 seasons of M*A*S*H, watch House, and love Friends.

I was tuning in to The Jersey Shore for some laughs, and heard one of the girls on the show "snookie or smoochie" or something along the classic Maltese/Yorkie names, says she wants to be a veterinarian. She says its my life to F***ing life to save animals and **** and all she wants is her own F*ing practice one day. I thought it was quite funny, I believe her in state will be Cornell she's going to fit in perfectly because she is def getting in.

Shows I enjoy:
The office
Lost
Heros
30 Rock
Top chef
Iron Chef
Grey Anatomy (yeah im a straight guy, its too good)
True Blood
Curb
Planet Earth

Am I weird that I really like Pawn Stars? hahah

No, not weird at all! I like it too

NCIS
Gilmore Girls
Tough Love
Dr. G
Mystery Daignosis
So You Think You Can Dance (dance...dance...dance)

...oh, I forgot the entire crew of VH1 reality shows. Jersey Shore, For the Love of Ray J, Real Chance at Love, the new one with frank the entertainer. My friends and I started watching the shows as a joke, because we love how ridiculous the people are, and I'd definitely have to add it into my list of "shows I watch too much".

also Sharpei5, I wish I could get my boyfriend to watch Greys and True Blood with me! He'll sit for True Blood, but I always feel guilty and change the channel, hahaha.

The X-Files is my forever love. Well, seasons 1-5. The other seasons can go **** themselves. I was worried that I would be watching Californication and keep thinking, "What is Mulder doing? Where's Scully?" Buuuuut, as anyone else who's seen it knows... that ain't Mulder. That's Hank. And Hank is naaaaasty. But it's so hilarious! 😀

And of course I love Flight of the Conchords... duh.

I'm adding Fringe to my list. And Glee!

House is good, but I don't keep up. I wish Netflix had some seasons on instant queue so I could watch an episode here and there at my leisure. I enjoy shows that stand alone like that.... I mean, try watching a single episode of Dexter. It's torture!

So, 30 Rock? True Blood? Any good? Good for a Dexterphile?

I don't have a TV at the moment, so I watch stuff on Hulu, mostly. The ones that I keep up with are Burn Notice (totally my current favorite), Psych, Stargate: Universe (still trying to decide if I really like it or not), and Firefly (yeah, it's off the air, but they rotate it on Hulu so I watch it whenever I get the chance).

My roommate (who has a TV, I just don't like to use it) and I also like to watch Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel on Friday nights, solely because it ends up being the most hilarious thing of my day. I mean, really, what's better than watching three crazy guys get locked into a haunted building and taunt the spirits they believe are there? On those lines, when I had a TV and afternoons free, I used to watch A Haunting on Discovery. And sometimes I'll watch Ghost Hunters on Hulu, although it's just not as funny and over-dramatic as the other two shows.

True Blood? Any good? Good for a Dexterphile?

True Blood is AWESOME. Seriously. I beat old ladies crossing the street down to get home in time for True Blood.

also Sharpei5, I wish I could get my boyfriend to watch Greys and True Blood with me! He'll sit for True Blood, but I always feel guilty and change the channel, hahaha.

hehe i got my bf to start watching Greys with me 2-3 yrs ago and so each year i keep saying "oh u gotta watch with me to catch up!" and he always complains about it, but will watch it with me in the end. Last weekend i went for an interview without him and when i got back he said that Thur night he didn't know what to do because its usually "girls night" with Greys and Project Runway

sex & the city will forever be my favorite. i can watch the dvds over and over and never get tired of them. pathetic, i know.

as for shows that dont turn my brain to mush... anything on PBS (i dont have cable now)

I get waaaay too involved in my shows... 😳

Latest obsession: Chuck

Other favorites: Three Sheets, Weeds, Big Love, Flight of the Conchords, Arrested Development, The Office, Scrubs, Project Runway, Sex and the City, Family Guy, What Not to Wear, Good Eats, Dr. G, Dirty Jobs (Mike Rowe! 😍), Cash Cab (Ben Bailey! 😍), Rome, Chelsea Lately

I'm surprised no one has mentioned ER. I saw bits and pieces of it growing up and randomly watched season 8, but I've recently started watching season 1 with the aim of watching all of the seasons in order. It is an awesome show that really speaks to the big part of me that wants to do good in the world, and I think would appeal to a lot of you on here.
I don't really like any of the other medical shows on TV, because they are either too dumb (Scrubs) or too contrived and dramatic (Greys Anatomy, House).

Other than that, I am a HGTV addict (house hunters, property virgins, and curb appeal are my personal favorites), and I also really enjoyed The Wire.

House
Lie to Me
24
Ace of Cakes
Cake Boss
So You Think You Can Dance
Vampire Diaries
Glee

Mostly non-animal shows here:
Favorites=
Californication
Bones
30 Rock

Guilty Pleasures:
Dollhouse
Old One Tree Hill episodes
Grey's (they lost me last season with the Denny thing though)

TT, if you are not sure you will like 30 rock, I am pretty sure netflix has the first 3 seasons available to watch instantly so you can give it a try

Twelvetigers, 30 Rock and True Blood are both amazing for different reasons. Get them on Netflix or just splurge and buy the DVDs, you won't regret it.

My favorite current shows:
LOST
Glee
Dexter
True Blood
The Office
Sons of Anarchy (sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who watches this...seriously, why aren't more people watching this awesome show??)

Old shows that I STILL watch regularly on DVD! (Haha, I'm obsessed):
Buffy (one of my favorite shows of all time!!)
Firefly
Angel
Arrested Development

Also, I liked ER too, but Scrubs isn't dumb! It's hilarious!! 😀

Badcats, I second your Dollhouse love. So sad that it's over! 2nd season was really good. Awwww.

Other than that, I am a HGTV addict (house hunters, property virgins, and curb appeal are my personal favorites), and I also really enjoyed The Wire.

My roommate and I leave HGTV on the TV constantly because it's the channel we most agree on. I wouldn't consider myself an HGTV-fan, but I know all the shows and have started yelling at the tv when they do dumb things...

Mythbusters
Man Vs. Wild
Castle
Bones
Psych
Monk (so sad it's over!)
Burn Notice
Supernatural

Bones, Psych and Supernatural! Awesome! I love all three 🙂

Firelily - I'm also a fellow Whedon fan 🙂

House
Cold Case (don't watch as often, caught onto it late so I tend to watch the old episodes)
Dr. G
Mystery Diagnosis
CSI
Cake Boss (any of those cake competition shows)
Dirty Jobs
Myth Busters
I tend to bounce between tlc, discovery, and discovery health and one of them for the most part has something interesting on.

I do not watch too many animal shows anymore. I watched emergency vets when I was younger. I also every once in a while watch animal cops but not too often.

Currently:
Animal Cops Miami/Pheonix/Texas are my favs
Wild Recon
American Pickers and Pawn Stars
Dexter
Nurse Jackie
Top Chef
LOST
The Office
Project Runway

At home, we usually have the TV on History or Discovery, so...
Dirty Jobs
anything involving WWII, pirates, the US Revolution, Current military operations (always looking for myself, I know I'm out there someplace)

On AFN
Catching up on Friends. It started my freshman year at Purdue, so I didn't see much of it. Comes on at 0630, perfect timing - after PT and before breakfast.

On the "Morale Drive"
The Big Bang Theory - we have 6 episodes of Season 2. This show is awesome, though I think I laugh a lot more than I should. My guys just don't get the jokes sometimes.
Sons of Anarchy - we have 10 episodes of it. Not too bad, for trash TV. Besides, can never have too much Katey Sagal.

TRUE BLOOD! I am obsessing until Season 3 in June.

Otherwise I just watch whatever is on when I get the chance to watch TV, mainly House Hunters, Diners Drive Ins and Dives, No Reservations, etc.

I am amazed on how many of us watch cooking related shows.

Btw, I also forgot to list Firefly (but I don't know how much that counts because it was canceled 😡 so long ago).

Shows that are currently on or in their off-season:
Castle
How I met your mother
big bang theory
house
Chuck
NCIS
Top Chef
Grey's Anatomy
Bones
FlashForward
White Collar
Psych
Burn Notice
Royal Pains
Family Guy
Simpsons

Shows off the air:
Dollhouse
Firefly
Buffy

That's a huge list and I don't really have time to watch them all, but when I get the chance, I take study breaks with these shows.

I don't actually watch that many animal shows, but I have a few others...

House, of course
GLEE! I'm a total Gleek...
The Tudors
Burn Notice
Food Network Challenge (the ones with the awesome/crazy cakes)
Say Yes To The Dress...I can watch most of the wedding based shows, actually, haha...don't judge
And I loved Firefly

And has anyone seen Lie To Me??? I'm totally obsessed...they've signed on for a full, 24 episode season next season, sooo excited!

My cable carrier had a tiff with FOX at the end of the year and almost dropped the network...I nearly had a heart attack 😱 (it would have taken away House, Glee, and Lie To Me, which are the only ones I actually follow regularly)

And just added Dollhouse to my Netflix queue, so we'll see how that goes 🙂

Let me just say that you all have awesome taste. I think between everyone here, most of my faves have already been mentioned.
