Got rejected by Nebraska as well, but the wording on mine was slightly different:
Your AMCAS application has been processed by the Office of Admissions and Students at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine. After a preliminary review of the information available to us, it has been determined that you will not be considered for admission into the 2008 entering class and, therefore, have been preliminarily rejected.

The decision not to give further consideration to your candidacy is based primarily upon the limited attention this institution can give to applicants who seem delusional.

We regret that we are unable to give you a favorable response to your application, but wish you well in your pursuit of a career in medicine.

Hmmmm. Sorry. I read the first line of your post above and thought it meant what it appears to mean.... But feel free to copy the rejection list and remove yourself if you like.

Ah, I see you edited your post to refer to post #10. Sorry for reading it as legit. Feel free to quote the rejection list and remove yourself. Before this list began, everyone was just posting in this thread about their rejections. When we were on page 5 or so, people suggested it should be in list form, so I went back and (rather quickly) inserted everyone who had previously posted a rejection. I definitely wasn't reading closely enough to catch tone.

I don't know about Indiana (guessing it might be an OOS/intl issue), but U of C has been rejecting STELLAR applicants with 4.0s and 40s. Don't sweat it. You're in VERY good company!

Indiana only interviews in-state or people with a tie to the state (and maybe a handful of others). University of Chicago has been rejecting people with good stats for about a month now. Don't take it personally.

What at this stage of the game (september 7th) is seen as good? Being complete, having a couple interviews, having only a couple rejections?

Also, lets say that a person is complete at all of their schools in august and early september, if they don't hear from schools in a month or so, does that mean they will eventually get rejected or is there still a possibility of an interview? Do school interview the best applicants they have first and then move on to other lesser candidates later? Is there a correlation, particularly at the competitive private schools, between later interviews and more average applicants? Thanks for your insight.
