I was contacted yesterday by a secretary at NW Feinberg asking for my approval to be on the waitlist.

Also, I was contacted by Central Michigan U by email letting me know the same thing. However, my CMU email went into my spam...so if you haven't heard anything from them you may want to check there.

Phone invite from Adelphi to set up an interview. Dates between Feb 26-March 11.

Has anyone heard from UD Mercy?

I think that is the only program that I am still waiting to hear from...

I just got an email from the DCT from Idaho State University for an interview. My FIRST interview invite this year! I am so excited!!!!!

:luck::laugh:😱:laugh:😀

congrats wkupmaggie!!!!!!! All you need for an acceptance is one interview so GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Any news from Cincinnati? Their website says the interview is Mar. 6, but I haven't heard anything or heard from anyone who has.

At this point, Rutgers, Virginia Consortium, St. John's, and Hofstra are all interviewing on the 27th or 2nd! That seems like a big problem, as I imagine there's a lot of overlap in applicants (since 3 are NY schools, and Rutgers & Virginia are two of the top PsyD programs). Yikes! Any creative ideas to not have to forfeit two, assuming one is invited to interview at all four?

Interview dates have just been confirmed. They will be held on:

Friday, Feb 27th or Monday, Mar 2nd at from 9-11am or 1-3pm

Interview invites should be out by the end of next week at the latest. And to those who've PMed me with questions, sorry for the wait but I'll be replying soon!

I know those are like the holy grail for interview weekends. I've had so many schools wanting those dates. You haven't heard from Rutgers PsyD yet, right?

Got an invitation today via email for an interview at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Interview dates are Friday, March 6, and Monday, March 9.

Congrats! A friend/former classmate of mine is in that program now and seems to enjoy it 🙂

For those who got contacted by the American secretary, did you get a follow-up email afterward? I got contacted for the invite, but I didn't get anything like an itinerary or an email!

Thanks!

Interview invite U of Toledo. Contacted via email by POI on 02/10/09. Interview on February 20th or 23rd.

Email today from my POI at Stony Brook 😀 to schedule a phone pre-interview. It seems like they're still in the middle of a lot of decisions, so if you're waiting to hear from them, don't give up hope!!

Congrats...I have a friend in that program, and I'm told that it can be a very good program depending on your interests and aspirations...

If you have any questions about the area, let me know, as I am familiar with it.

Thanks for everything. Any updates/inside info on the following schools:

Howard
Western Michigan (earlier post said the committee is making decisions tomorrow)
Central Michigan
Jackson State
Nova (are they still sending out invites?)
University of Central Florida

I'm getting more nervous, as I applied to 12 and haven't received an interview yet. I thought I would be ok for Nova (3.4 GPA, 2 yrs direct clinical experience at mental health agency, Masters degree and research experience, 1020 GRE which is low), but as each day progresses, I get more concerned. Boo hoo 🙁

No, I haven't either...a couple of ppl on here were talking and someone said that they are a few weeks behind b/c of the ice storms that hit the area a few weeks ago

Also I saw a few days ago where someone received a rejection letter...so maybe since we haven't gotten a rejection letter thats good news??
cross our fingers :xf: good luck

no, i haven't heard from rutgers or st. john's - but i have interviews at Virginia & Hofstra, and i'm hesitant to buy a flight to virginia if it's going to conflict with rutgers/st. john's since they're among my top choices. so frustrating!

so lets say i met with like 10 professors at a school - should I email them all a quick 2 sentence thank you? or just my POI (though that will be longer)?

thanks!

Just confirming that UCF is in fact on Friday.

Good luck on the others! :luck:

Thanks!

I don't know about 10, but I at one school I interviewed (one on one) with 3 professors and I emailed all three. All of them responded to my email. I would say email those who you met one-on-one, and maybe the DCT if you had significant interction with him/her. I did because he hosted a party at his house and I had a chance to interact with him a lot. No need to email other professors who you met but didn't have a fomal individual interview with.

🙂

Edit: I should probably add that all 3 professors I interviewed with were people I mentioned in my personal statement.

Yeah a lot of people have heard from Yeshiva PsyD. I have my interview there tomorrow Thurs. 2/12.

Anyone hear from the following?

Rutgers PsyD
Yeshiva PsyD
Fordham Clinical PhD
Fordham Counseling PhD
Seton Hall Counseling PhD
Stony Brook Clinical PhD
Hofstra PsyD

Thanks!

Ok, my schools website is down which means I can't access my email AT ALL!!!!!!! How am I going to confulsively check my emails today? This is really not a good time for the server not to work.... AHHHHH

Interview invite University of Alabama Birmingham Medical/Clinical. Notice via email from administrative associate on 02/05/09. Interview on 03/02/09.

Interview at Hofstra on 3/6, Yeshiva is extending invites til the end of Feb

I called, and they said interview invites will be sent out by the end of next week, so by 2/20? I'm so confused as what to do since their date is 3/2. The department administrator said they do make alternate arrangements (phone, alternate dates), but she doesn't recommend it.

Nova Southeastern PsyD wants to do 3/2, but I just emailed seeing if I can do an alternate date/phone interview.

Widener PsyD wanted 2/27, but I just left a message trying to resched for 3/11.

I have Baylor PsyD interview 2/28.

University of Denver PsyD wants 2/27 or 3/6 (texas woman's open house date, a program I've been accepted to).

Virginia Consoritum wants 2/27 or 3/2. I asked if they have alternate dates or phone interviews; they said no.

I have no idea what to doo arrghhh.

Not sure about the rest, but Fordham already interviewed for their clinical psych phd (jan 30, feb 4 & 6), at this point we are waiting to hear back about acceptances... I think we find out sometime next week? I'm going nuts here.

Anyone hear from the following?

Rutgers PsyD
Yeshiva PsyD
Fordham Clinical PhD
Fordham Counseling PhD
Seton Hall Counseling PhD
Stony Brook Clinical PhD
Hofstra PsyD

Thanks!

Any news on UNCG? More specifically are they still extending invites? (Wasn't there someone on the board who is a student there and has "inside info" >wink-wink< 😛)

I ask because work has asked me to assist with a big project that leaves at the end of the month and goes through the first week of March in Texas (I'm in DC). This would cover both interview dates that UNCG has decided on. They are wanting me to book my flights, rooms, and start attending planning meetings tomorrow... so they are wanting a definite yes or no!

My only concern (or maybe desperate hope?) is that I'll get an interview with UNCG... and of course I'd tell my boss to take this task and shove it, 'cuz I'm going to school!! haha.

I called the dept. and spoke to the admissions person in charge... she said she would get back with me. She never has (and I understand she is super busy)... but its been several days.

What do you recommend doing?

1. Say no to the boss... and just wait for an interview invite that may or may not come.

2. Say yes to the boss... and IF an interview comes up... back out (this will really make her angry but I've been here for years and have a good rapport with my higher-ups).

3. Hound the admin people again for either a yes or no? (I don't want to anger them into throwing my app. away! haha)

TIA guys!

Interview at NOVA (clinical phd) via e-mail from admissions office for March 9. It seems like they're gradually sending them out...

UC Berkeley, in case anybody is still thinking about this..Answer from Academic and Clinic Coordinator
"I am sorry to have to tell you that the interview cycle for this year is closed and all invitations have been extended. I know that it is disappointing.

This year we received approximately 300 applications and were only able to offer interviews to a few applicants. Features that can distinguish one applicant from another include excellence in academic performance, evidence of accomplishment in research, clinical experience, clarity of purpose, and the match of interests between those of the applicant and those of the faculty in our program.
If you should decide to apply again next year, I would predict that it would again be a very competitive situation. However, things do change in a year's time—new experiences are gained, interests crystallize, and work in progress reaches completion. There is always the possibility that you could be accepted at a future date even if you were turned away now. The fact of rejection this year does not prejudice another application.
It is difficult to respond to the common question, "What can I do to improve my application?" Obviously, it can be strengthened through additional course work (if you have some deficiencies), and additional experience in clinical settings or on research projects. Working with researchers and clinicians who will come to know you well can help you think about your long-term goals and the questions that you would like to address in your research.
Regardless of the outcome of this admissions process, if you are committed to a career in psychology we encourage you to continue working toward that goal, if not at Berkeley then at some other program. You have our best wishes."

I got a follow-up email soon after, but it was basically like "We'll send you more info later."

I was at the interview on Monday, and I didn't get my schedule until six days before. I did get an email just confirming the invite the day I was called though, so if someone didn't, I'd recommend checking to make sure they have your correct email address.

any info on U Washington interviews other than the dates? has anyone actually been invited?

I second that.

And I really want to hear from Loyola, my ONLY interview, but that won't be until the end of the month. Fun times...

any info on U Washington interviews other than the dates? has anyone actually been invited?

anyone heard anymore news on SLU?

I haven't heard back since the e-mail I posted about before:

"Mass Email from Saint Louis Univ stating that they will be finished reviewing apps by feb 17, that if you get an interview you will be notified by feb 19, and interviews will be held march 5-7. "

I think they will give out all their interviews on the 17th-19th.

Still no word from UNR, anyone else hear anything new?

To smeevil and others in the same boat:

I am pretty aggrevated about the scheduling conflicts situation. So many schools I applied to are having their interviews on the 02/27-03/02 weekend, and none of them are willing to bend on alternate dates. I don't blame the schools - but it is so frustrating to have to decide between where to interview at. It's making multiple interview offers more like 1 or 2 interview offers.

This is so discouraging.

I heard that UNR might be accepting fewer people this year (3-4 maybe) and also inviting fewer applicants for interviews. As of last week they hadn't sent out invites. If anyone else has any info, please share 🙂:xf:

Has anyone heard anything from University of Missouri-Kansas City or East Carolina University? Any information would be helpful!! Thanks!

any info on U Washington interviews other than the dates? has anyone actually been invited?

I sent an email today inquiring about interview invites. I'll let you know if they respond. They don't seem too receptive to answering questions... the website says something about "if you have a question, calling us should be your last resort."... so not too eager to CALL them. Hoping they'll respond via email.

Still reviewing files and offering interviews. Expecting to be done by Friday.

any info on U Washington interviews other than the dates? has anyone actually been invited?
The on-site interview dates for Univ. of Washington at Seattle are Feb 26, 27. I received an invitation yesterday.

VA consortium psyd also told me I have to decide by today whether I'm interviewing with them (only in person, no phone interviews), and which date (2/27 or 3/2), both which conflict, and might conflict more if I get an invite for Rutgers. Especially hard since they just invited me on 2/9 (2 days ago).

I just received an interview invitation from Seton Hall University for their Counseling Psychology Ph.D. Program!!

Interview Date is Friday, February 27th🙂

Jon

How did you hear from Seton Hall? Email from POI or Department?

Email for interview at Teachers College, Columbia (clinical Ph.D.) from department, interview 2/25!
