should i be worried that my one and only interview didn't respond to my thank you e-mail?

all I do is check SDN, drink coffee, work, check SDN, freak out, check my portals, check some more SDN, attempt to sleep with nightmares of rejections -_- #whatissleep

Yeah, my friends and coworkers all tell me to try to focus on something else but I can't let it go. I just want to move on with my life. I've already lingered for far too long.

F*ck, dude, we'll get there. One way or another. I still believe in that, at least.

There are anti-URM admissions policies people on SDN who believe that all URMs are admitted on the basis of their URM status alone. They ignore the fact that among other things, people get accepted because Adcoms believe that they can handle med school, and add something to the Class. we do no one any favor by admitting them if they can't hack med school.

Explain this please.

I agree. I just interpreted your comment to mean something else and thought I'd ask you to clarify. Thank you!

same, my friends think I am insane but seriously SDN is the only thing that tells me what's going on and honestly, I know there are some trollers on here that attempt to make you feel like crap(and it works many times, so screw you people), but there are also fellow peers here whose motivation/stories/being in the same boat kinda does help.

people are telling me to change my career, that six years out, three application cycles are too much but I want this so bad. I have stuck onto this for so long. I really really want this. We have to get there. We have to.

On that note, I just got rejected from another school, Wake Forest, and they screen before they send secondaries - bah.

Sorry. Good things are coming. We have to believe.

5 total (somehow) but 4 within the last month basically, all of which were complete since August

By the way were you getting rejections before January or is everything moving now for you?

Still no interviews:soexcited:..........

Serious questions though,
When should I start asking schools that rejected me for feedback? and better through email or phone call?
Also, should I even bother asking the schools that say they can't give you individual feedback because they received too many applications, blah blah etc?

Wondering all of this as well.

Probably not for that last question. I wonder about the schools that don't mention anything about feedback, though.

Sigh, I'm jinxing myself here. If this cycle's a bust and I have to go through all the schools I applied to, I'll post a list of the results.

Oh god, I've just cursed myself!

I'm only asking places that have officially rejected me

Does anyone think it's worth it to ask for feedback from reach schools? I feel like with those schools the answers would probably be that my stats weren't high enough. I mean I guess there's an off chance that they would identify a weakness in my app that I wasn't aware of like a meh LOR or something I said in my PS that was unforgivable or something. But if I'm generally positive they will just tell me my MCAT wasn't high enough, it seems like a waste of time.

Do you think getting a mailer from temple about their school of podiatry a bad sign..🙁
Oh wow. Is this your first one. I've been getting these for 2 weeks. Received about 10 so far. Doesn't feel good
I have been getting them since I took the MCAT. Also have been getting them from NYC School of Podiatry or something like that. Easily get 2+ per week from each school.
Ended up removing myself from their mailing lists about a month ago. SO ANNOYING b/c every time I thought it was an interview invite or an acceptance because it comes up as "admissions office" in my email folder. SMH!

FAFSA question that could use an answer ASAP! I am adding schools which I have been waitlisted on to my FAFSA but what about schools that I would like to attend but have not received an II or rejection? Should I just add them to the list since I have 10 spots? Or add later if I receive an interview?
I would just wait to add FAFSA info for waitlist schools. Sending info to other schools is Free I believe. So it may not be worth it to send now.

Starting to feel like all of my schools are reach schools... These medical school admissions people must be fairly sadistic to keep us all hanging like this for so long...
I was definitely a "reach" applicant to two schools that i got interviews at. Reach as in like in their lower 10% of MCAT scores according to AMCAS and an OOS applicant. Just saying, you never know and don't lose hope. 🙂

just got rejected from NYMC - I really thought I had a shot there. I have lost all hope. All my schools are clearly reach as I am getting rejected. I just suck.

There are only so many spots. Inevitably good candidates end up getting rejected at schools. SDN makes it seem liked the majority are getting acceptances. SDN is not reflective of reality. If you're concerned about the strength of your apps, contact the schools you've been rejected from and ask.

I know this won't mean much from a random internet stranger, but just the fact that you are in a position to be applying and be considered for these schools is a testament to the work and effort you've put in thus far. I also know this doesn't take away the sting of being rejected, so I'm sorry how the cycle is playing out for you. But as others have said, this doesn't mean you suck. Keep your head up chocolate (*internet hug*)

I know the feeling!! You dont suck thats for sure. You have more schools left right? Did you apply DO also? and now I wait for my rejection from NYMC. Im sorry and huggssss to you!!
