Still silence at 18 schools, of which at least 10 have been giving other applicants final decisions.. weird!

Hi everyone! I'm a current M1 and thought I'd post because I was in your position too last year and hopefully some of you may find hope in this post. My stats were 3.5 sGPA, 3.5 cGPA, not URM, took the MCAT 4 times with scores between 21-26, applied to 40 schools in July, II at 2 in September and November, both waitlisted, rejected everywhere else and finally got off one waitlist in June. The whole process was a rollercoaster of emotions and I was in/out of the panic state too often. Now a year later I'm in 2nd semester of med school. So keep hope!!! and I'm rooting for you all because I know being in limbo isn't the nicest place to be in. Some of my classmates now interviewed in March so there's still hope for those of you still waiting! Making it this far in the process is already a huge feat and you're all great in your own way so don't let admissions lower your self-confidence. Goodluck to all of you!!!
 
I think all the interview offers have dried up 🙁

You know... at this point I'd really appreciate hearing anything at all. Even if it's just spam messages inviting me to apply to their school of insert other health profession here.:meh:

Disclaimer: for some schools but not others

Vent: If these adcoms were as indecisive with their patients as they were with my application, I suspect we wouldn't have much of an over-population problem. If you have a problem with my < 3.3 GPA, either shout down the kind gentleman/woman across the room and reject me or give in and send me an II. I'm beginning to despise the eternal optimist in me. The moments of unrelenting rage along with the intermittent happiness can't be doing much for my mental state.
 
Sigh, it's been the opposite for me...woke up to a rejection almost every morning for the past 2 weeks now 🙁 Only a few schools left to hear from, but I'm still trying to hang in there 👍
 
Did anyone else get the "We are excited....about your continued interest in Creighton University." e-mail today? It's nice that they are at least updating applicants about what is going on, and I guess their semester just started again, but I definitely got way too excited seeing the "we are excited" bit.

That's exactly how their "secondary complete" email started too. "We are excited to inform you..." Kind of annoying imo.
 
When should we start preparing to reapply for next cycle? I haven't gotten a II yet for this cycle

sometimes strangers themselves help a person more than you can imagine.
this cycle has been all rejections so far and it kills because yes I am persistent in applying (i mean third cycle come on now) but I am also worried because again all I have been getting is bad news. I am praying literally that somehow someday this year for the incoming class of 2016 that I get one invite and one acceptance - I don't care what school it is at this point as long as its US MD or DO just wanna be in.

yep I did apply DO so far haven't heard anything from them
hopefully you wont get rejected and you'll get an interview and show them what you got!

Albany, Albert Einstein, Tufts, Jefferson, Temple, Virginia Tech, VCU (status number 3 if you follow VCU thread), Rosalind Franklin (II hold)

I have hopes for NYMC, Einstein, Downstate, Albany, Temple, Jeff, FIU and EVMS...I have about 10 others but I would be thrilled for one more II at any of those.

I know of two people who only got one interview in March, and got accepted a couple weeks later who began this year. I absolutely believe it would be wise to start preparing to reapply by attacking any weaknesses you can correct in your app, but it certainly isn't over yet guys. Stay realistic, but also stay hopeful. You really never know what could happen.

Hope keeps me hanging and the ground's moving farther away every day. I'm just trying to lower myself so if it doesn't happen, I'm not too heartbroken. And I can be pleasantly surprised if it does!

But alas, to quote another thread, I expect nothing and I'm still [kind of] let down.
