God this perfectly describes how I've been feeling for the past month. I am so close to snapping on anyone around me lately. I hate this process. And I hate being poor.

What were your stats and school list? How many schools do you left to hear from? It's not over yet so definitely don't give up just yet.

Had been toying with the idea of taking the MCAT again this upcoming year and taking a year off from the cycle...Then thought about how f*ckin insane that is. Will never take that test again.

I go back and forth on the MCAT issue pretty much everyday.

Yeah If I don't get in this cycle I'm gonna have to take the test again for sure and apply in 2017. The thought if it makes me nauseous but that's what may just end up happening.

If you apply 2017 you don't have to retake right?

The way I understood it the month didn't matter - it was by year. So if you took it 2014 it was good through the 2017 cycle.

So I could be wrong but apparently there was someone on this thread who took their mcat in May 2012 and got their score in June 2012 and when they went to apply in June 2015, they thought they were fine, but instead their score was considered expired.

so if you apply for the incoming class of 2017 [aka you apply this June 2016, you should be fine] but if you apply in June 2017, depending on the month, you may not be ok. Again, I could be wrong but I do remember this issue arising on this thread and you may need to confirm with AAMC or the schools to be sure.

I think we are on the same page haha. Yeah I understood it as three years from the year of matriculation - so MCAT in 2014 (regardless of month) is good for matriculation in 2017 (apply June 2016)

approximately 10. I don't have my list in front of me, but here's what I remember off the top of my head. I really hope it isn't over because I am really counting on these schools!
Drexel: they said they aren't giving me an interview yet but they are holding my application
Loyola: Eligible for re-review
Howard, Buffalo, Quinnipiac, Meharry, Temple, Tufts: all silence --> really hoping one of them gives me an interview and an acceptance
Brown: I guess this is going to end up being a rejection because I think I saw on their portal that they interview throughout February which is almost over so there goes that school.

FWIW I know tons of people who have got rejected from Loyola. So if they haven't rejected you I'd say that's a good sign.

It is school dependent. Some schools list January of 20XX as the earliest date they will accept old MCAT scores, others have a variety of months (June, Sept, March, etc of 20XX). Best thing to do is use the MSAR and check your specific schools.

The DO cycle is much longer so it's definitely possible you'll snag an II from one of them. Feel free to PM me your stats, I'd love to help.

Checked my alternative e-mail (one that I did not use for applying at all) and Loyola sent my rejection there last Friday? Not sure how they got that e-mail address? Every other communication from them has been through the e-mail I used to apply with.

I had 5 already for this week, :wow: and now I am waiting on Brown because I heard they only interview through Feb and Feb is almost over, so I will be at six soon :wtf::bang:
and still no interview invites :beat::vomit:

How many do you have left - we have to keep hope for our remaining schools, we must!

totally had fun with the faces right now btw

i think i have ~10 left (including the 2 i'm on hold at). one of my state schools basically told me i'm rejected but they haven't formally rejected me haha so i'm not counting them either. some of them were not smart choices though so i have little hope for most of them. really only holding out hope for jeff, temple and quinnipiac (maybe)

Also waiting on Drexel- spring hold not likely. Temple , Jeff, Downstate, Quinn and Tufts. I have Miami, FIU which I dont think have rejected yet. Did Temple and Jeff reject yet I forget?

Temple is still ongoing as @cmo217 said!
No clue what Quinn and Tufts are doing >.<
 
The new med school opening in my state just got a dean, so another option for next cycle for me in case things don't work out this year!
edit: this can also be an option for others, as it is private!

also at temple, i don't think there's much of a disadvantage to interviewing late, or atleast not much, b/c my cousin said there are multiple people from her interview day (late march) in her class, and the class size at st. luke's is small (~30) so that's saying something!
 
Hi just checking into my favorite thread to lurk on. I got a DO acceptance which I am honored to receive but haven't had any MD luck so far. I have an interview this week with my undergrad school so I'm praying hard! Good luck everyone, you all deserve this so much.

What school, if you don't mind me asking? (I'm sure we all want to know). And congrats on the DO acceptance! I would give my right arm and my left leg for a DO acceptance at this point.

Quinnipiac!! Also bananafish this will sound weird but just based on everything I've read from you on this thread I'm pretty positive I met you in person at an interview. (I won't say where b/c anonymity but it was mid January and it was super cold).
 
I haven't posted on this thread in a while. Just want to share that I got accepted to a school recently! I didn't get my first interview until Thanksgiving day and the interview to the school I got accepted to didn't come until December. Best of luck to all of you!
