ACCEPTED 30 MINUTES AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They made it seem like it was going to be a rejection but it was ACTUALLY A TRICK AND I STARTED CRYING AT WORK WHEN I SAW THE ACCEPTANCE ON THE PORTAL!!!!!!!!! I am so so so happy and also really embarrassed now because I look like a lunatic in front of my coworkers.

What an overwhelming, incredible sense of relief. This is the culmination of 10+ years of work and I can hardly believe it. So happy to join you all in the MD class of 2024!!

I love you all! xx

Hi guys, I am just now finding this thread. I wanted to ask you guys what your game plan is in order to secure a competitive residency now that STEP is P/F. Since our class is the first to have to deal with this, I have been feeling a little stressed. What are yall planning to do in order to put yourself in the best position? Securing research? Becoming active in on campus organizations? Any suggestions would be great. I was just wondering if anyone else was feeling anxious about this

I’m also a little apprehensive about this change, but I think I’m still going to approach step 1 preparation as if I’m going to receive a score. This is for two reasons: first, there’s no guarantee that the implementation of pass/fail scoring will actually happen in January 2022 - the NBME just say this is the “earliest” date the change will be made. Second, almost everyone I’ve spoken with has emphasized how aiming for a high step 1 score set them up for success with step 2. I do think the emphasis will shift to our step 2 scores if we end up having p/f step 1. I’m definitely going to try to get in on some interesting research projects early on, but I’d probably do that anyway.

^My thoughts exactly. Most schools also interweave clinical into their preclinical curriculum, so by studying hard during your pre-clinical years should set you up well to crush both Step exams.

Hi guys, has anyone applied for grad plus for next year yet? When I went to apply, it did not have 2020-2021 as an aid year yet... Wondering if anyone else has had this issue
