This shows that if you have 7-9 interviews, you have 81% match rate. If you submit 7-9 ranks, you have 93%.

I think the only caveat with those statistics is that when it talked about acceptance rate for # of interviews and ranks that it was across all specialties. So not sure if that changes much for Ortho.

What is a safe number of interviews to have before starting to decline interviews? With socials along with interviews, it’s becoming difficult to take time off from school

Mannnn I had friends went through the process years before my time. I have seen all kinds of scenarios. Knew a few people with 10+ interviews, did not match. Knew people who had 1-2 interviews, matched.

A combo of factors: popularity of the school, how people they interviewed, how many students they typically take from their home school, etc.

I had one friend that had 17 interview invites. She stopped somewhere around 10 trips.

It sucks taking time off from school but worth it if you envision yourself attending that school and living in said city. You will find a way to catch up on requirements! All my friends before managed to finish on time with multiple trips/socials. Best of luck.

My guess is they’re trying to see who is really interested enough to come visit the program short notice and maybe grant them an interview.

Serious question, how does anyone plan to pay the tuition and fees for Georgia? I just calculated tuition and fees for the 3 years and it’s $381,000! This is not including living expenses and other expenditures l, which could easily add another $50-75k per year. Is it even worth it at that point if it’s the only program we get in?

Its worth it if mommy and daddy or certain monarchies are footing the bill
