Hi! If anyone is able to switch their 11/1 SLU interview with my 10/22 interview or 10/21 Pacific interview with my 10/22 interview, please message me!

Is anyone also willing to switch my 10/23 SLU interview with either 10/31 or 11/1? I would really appreciate it!

What's everyone's thoughts on GSO? I was looking at their current residents profile and most of them are relatively very old. Like they graduated in 2004 or 1980s from a non CODA university. Does GSO ever reject anyone?

I’m curious what’s the average number of interviews people are receiving this cycle.
I’m curious too. Been on three interviews now and they all stated ‘record numbers’ of applications - UIC had over 500 this year! Last year they were around 400.

I’m hearing from other interviewees record numbers of their classmates are applying. Penn has 30+. Some schools aren’t even doing courtesy interviews for their students anymore because there are just too many applying.

CWRU said to have over 400 applicants this year.

I go to a P/F school and around 40+ students will be applying to ortho next cycle from my school.

This cycle I think only 5 applied, it seems like every cycle is a little different.

Does anyone know if schools interview more people if they have more applicants?

Honestly, I would trade 3 interviews for an interview at Montefiore haha
Why is that? I don't know that much about the program.

Montefiore feels like a mess these days. It used to be a great place, but now it’s really struggling. There hasn’t been a secretary since applications were due, and they haven’t found a replacement. The residents are totally burned out. Plus, tuition comes straight out of their pay, so good luck trying to live on $35k before taxes in NYC while paying off loans—especially since you can’t take out more.

The director is split between Montefiore and Maimonides helping out there, which means there’s not much oversight. Honestly, it might not be worth giving up chances at other schools that could be a better fit for you, especially when it comes to canceling other interviews for this one.

What do you mean by saying you cannot take out more? Is it similar to Howard, where residents are unable to take out federal Grad PLUS loans, despite needing additional living expenses in Washington, D.C.?

Hi! Anyone interviewing at Maryland in the morning session willing to switch with my afternoon session? Please message me, thanks!

Why is that? I don't know that much about the program.
I visited Montefiore for 2 days (they offer 2 day visits but they're usually booked for a few months). Lots of modern technology, I saw 5 ortho-surgery cases, Invisalign, Light Force and lots other treatment methods, residents were very happy and their relationship with the faculty is unlike I've seen anywhere else, friendly and open. Director is real cool and comes from private practice background. He gave a class in the morning, and it was the exact same class he gave the week before at a CE course to experienced orthodontists, which I think would be amazing as a resident. I also think UOP, MCG and UMich are strong (I've visited 20 programs) but I prefer a hospital based program.

Would anyone be able to switch their saint louis 10/31 with mine 11/1, and/or uop 10/21 with mine 10/22? Please DM me 🥹

Hey guys! If anyone is interviewing at Maryland on 10/22 in the morning session and can switch to my afternoon session - I would greatly appreciate it as I have another interview conflict and this allows me to do both. Please message me 🙂

Did anyone applying to Jacksonville University receive an email to setup their supplemental application portal ?
