Unlikeable in their interviews and/or by the residents

Many programs treat interviews like an even playing field where the grades don’t really matter anymore. What matters is your personality which is shown through your interview answers, the way you compose yourself, and with the way you interact with the residents and other applicants. A book worm can have a 4.0 with a few publications and get a ton of interviews but if they have the personality of a lump of dirt, they’re likely not going to match. And most of the time, either the residents or the faculty or both can tell when someone is faking and when someone is being sincere

If two schools have the same interview date and you can only attend one, does that mean you have to let go of the school you can't attend interview for? Can I email the school to have a separate interview on another day or is not being able to attend the interview on the specified date pretty much mean you can't rank that school?

Yup you will likely have to drop one of the schools. If one of them has an alternate date, you may see if someone is interested in swapping dates. I don’t anticipate them creating a separate interview day unless you have an actual illness and can’t make it.

You can ask if they can provide an alternative day for the interview but you should act fast. I would recommend to inform schools more than 2 weeks before the interview or at least as soon as you find out. If you decide to not show up last minute or on the day of, that can upset the program director.

Yeah, I got a confirmation email today at 2:43 PM EST. Make sure you sent the email with your interview preference to Tanya Arroyo and not just replied to the initial interview invite email.

The past few years it’s been a phone call at the end of September with an interview at the end of Oct.

Haven't received an email confirmation either. The lady I spoke to told me an email will be sent this week.
