Okay, this is frustrating, Ive been trying to get ahold of them for two days now and cant get through.
 
I called and finally talked to someone, I requested a second set of transcripts to be sent, mine evidently got lost.

The same thing happened to me as well. They only received the 2 out of 3 transcripts.
 
Hey, has anybody else encountered a problem with planned courses. I'm taking them this summer and through out the year and already submitted my app. They are waiting on these nonexistent transcripts however. The system never prompted me to enter planned and it wouldn't let me go through without entering a grade so I put NYR. Can anybody help me!!!

Ask them to "undeliver" it. You will have a week to fix any mistakes. You enter planned when you add the college attended, not when you enter the coursework.

Has anyone been having trouble getting their transcrips "recieved"? I know it is not an error on my University's part- I have called them and all is well and good. My app has been "complete" except for this one transcript for three weeks now and it's really starting to bother me. It was sent on May 7 and again June 5th and is still not showing up as recieved. To top it all off, it's been impossible for my to get through to someone at AACOMAS!
 
I have a few qs
1. Do any new experiences you add after submission get locked from editing?
2. I think I may have made a mistake on one grade in the transcript entry (by a plus/minus)... everything else is exactly as printed on the official transcript though... will AACOMAS help me fix that or what?
3. I'm tryna find where I can print the app. Do I have to submit to all my schools before I can print?

1. Yes. Enter it and you cannot change it.

2. They will fix it (probably).

3. You have to submit to one school. Then go to manage your programs and click the blue download button.

Did I screw myself over? I was hoping to get this semester's grades on there.. and it doesnt look like thats going to be able to happen. I thought you couldnt submit till June anyways. Should I send transcripts now, and then have new transcripts sent later? I dont think I'll be able to update my grades until the next academic period then after the summer right?

Can I ask how you filled out the fee waiver. It says to go into your AACOMAS application and click on your name which will bring down options and the Fee Assistance Program should be one of them. I have tried multiple browsers but cannot find that option. PLEASE HELP!
 
Hey guys, quick question.
When I submitted my application I was still a US resident, I will become a citizen in July. What do I need to do? Do I need to call AACOMAS and make changes on the primary? Or can I just update it on the secondaries? And meanwhile I am waiting to take the Oath, should I already put a citizen even if I submit a secondary before July?

Sorry! I know you arent going to be happy to hear this, but it looks like they got rid of it from the drop down menu. Not sure if you are aware of this, but there were only a limited number of spots for the FAP, and they have run "out" of them. Another post mentioned that there is a waiting list with over 600 people on it. Supposedly, they are in line waiting for spots that become available should a person who received it not submit within the 2 week timeframe.

This is so crazy. Man it seems like every year this whole med school rush gets worse and worse. Knew I should have done business 😉
 
Transcript request for AMCAS went through fine. Transcript request for AACOMAS has not even been processed by my university. Guess I'm calling tomorrow.

From the application instructions on AP credits and the like:
" These credits MUST APPEAR ON YOUR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT in order for you to report them."

I "placed" out of a course and retook a course I had earned AP credit for. On my official transcript it just says 0 for earned hours and everything else for both of these. So I just do not include these, correct?
 
Anyone else who is in the position where they have been verified but have parts of their application missing (ie: verified gpa, MCAT official scores, or weird LOR's names)
Sent them 2 emails on the situation, hopefully they answer it. Will post the answers here.

The main problem I see here is the schools are still getting the app's but we're technically incomplete until all LOR/MCAT scores have been sent to the schools, even if we submit the secondary essays and fee.
 
How long does verification take around this time? Am I considered to be applying late if I apply today? (I'm going to apply anyways, I just didn't know we could've submitted all the way in May, so I waited to get things done in June!) I wanted to be an early applicant lol :/

It takes them 12 days (and counting) to get a eTranscript that comes via sftp acknowledgeg. I am losing my faith.
 
yes, is it considered late if I submit app today or tomorrow?
 
Some schools are already screening.

Did you verify that they would accept an electronic transcript?

I was under the impression that only paper transcripts were allowed.
 
I apologize if this questions has been asked before. But does anyone know how AACOMAS handles LOR's that are received after my application has been verified and processed? Will they send them directly to the schools I applied to?

I replied to you once, but then I saw this in the manual.

"TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ORIGINAL AND SENT BY PAPER MAIL. Photocopied, faxed, or electronic transcripts will not be accepted."

The old system took electronic transcripts, but I don't think CAS does. So unless you verified that your transmission would be accepted (with AACOMAS, not your school), I would look into resending by mail.

For DO schools late applications would be anything submitted after September. MD I'd say after July. Last years cycle I had mine in the middle of August and received plenty of secondaries as well as interviews.

Hi all, just wanted to followup on my earlier post - I got in touch with them about my issue about "planned/in progress". Still don't know if it was a system error or my error, but it is NOT something that they have to undeliver for, the lady on the phone was able to fix it from their side. Btw they are accepting phone calls, but be prepared for a REALLY LONG wait (I was on hold for 40 minutes).

when I called them, they said they are currently taking 1-2 weeks to verify

Honestly, applying to medical school is such a long process, I'd just list you're a citizen. I would change your primary if at all possible. AFAIK, they won't ask you immigration type questions till interviews/post interview, but someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.
 
Would it be wrong of me to add an "Experience" that I just started this week? It is tutoring at a community college. I'd really like to add it.

Something along the lines of: "As you can see, I recently started this experience, and plan to accumulate more hours, etc. etc.

(yes, I have read the instructions)

Hi everyone, I completed my application but I cannot click the "Pay For Your Programs" button. I have checked every section and my application is not missing anything, so I have no idea what to do. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have tried calling and emailing them but they do not respond to anything. Thanks!
 
Just wondering if I should enter expired MCAT scores. I took the test twice in 2012.

Just an update to those waiting on official MCAT scores, they have started updating the verified apps that didn't have the MCAT scores added. Mine are now added as well.

It's located as a separate page ontop of the unofficial.

Idk if this might have caused the change but I used the in app contact button and sent them an inquiry regarding my MCAT scores situation and when I checked back 5-6 hours later after work the scores were up. Again this might have just been coincidence , but who knows -worth a shot man.

Edit: I had also resent my MCAT scores via aamc electronically since it literally takes 30 seconds yesterday.

Really I feel like they just got around to updating and someone else posted earlier that they were going to start updating official MCAT scores this coming Monday.
 
Hi, I was wondering if I could write a further clarification for my course name. For example, on my transcript I have Indep Resrch in Psych, but my research is in Neuroscience. Additionally, I have Honors in Psychology, but it's actually for Neuroscience research. Could I add Indep Resrch in Psych (Neuroscience) or Honors in Psychology (Neuroscience Research)?

Or will AACOMAS be able to understand from my classification that those were research courses in Neuroscience?

Hey guys just some advice from my experience dont send them electronic transcripts, I almost fell for it! Secondly, depending on how many schools you applying to you may be better off just sending your individual schools your LOR's. Personally it would have been difficult for me to go through AACOMAS so I just sent them to individual schools and it cost me $6 for all of my LORs to each school. As far as verification goes I had my transcripts sent to them in May, I did professional transcript entry (found a few errors but they corrected them quickly). I submitted my application for verification on June 4th and it was verified by June 5th. Im pretty sure mine was verified so quick because I did professional transcript entry, either way it was a hugeeeee time saver and totally worth $50. I contacted the schools I applied to and I should be receiving secondaries by the end of this month.
 
Has anyone been verified yet? Applied June 1st and I've still been waiting around with the "materials received" still highlighted.
