I added a work/experiences section to the primary ACCOMAS app after I turned in some of my secondary applications. Has anyone talked to ACCOMAS and asked them how quickly this activity will show up for the schools?

Anyone else having issues saving they're phone number on My Profile or Contact Info??
It's literally delaying my application because it just won't save! I tried other browsers, other computers and no luck!!
Now I have to wait for "tech support" to figure it out which apparently could take at least 5-7 business days…...

When (and how) do we actually know that our MCAT scores have been received by AACOMAS?
Are we able to find out before we submit, or is it only after we submit that we'll know?

On the PDF that's sent to the school you can see it listed under "Official Test Scores."

Hey so I know LECOM will be accepting ACT/SAT scores instead of MCAT scores or if you don't have one they use MCAT. Is there anyway you can make sure they don't get the MCAT score since my first one was bad. I think on the secondary right or would they automatically see my bad MCAT score because of the accomas application.

Your MCAT will be on your AACOMAS application, so they will see your score. Unless LECOM is the only school you are applying to, then I guess you could not include your MCAT on your AACOMAS application and they would never see it. I didn't know that LECOM would use an ACT/SAT instead of an MCAT- it seems awfully strange to accept a test taken in high school for med school admissions..

After matching my courses with the prerequisites for my programs, what do I do? I've done that already and my application isn't in the "verifying" stage. :/

Also - can you add schools once you've submitted the application? I added more but it won't let me pay for them.

They finally responded to my original email, 8 days later, with an automated email telling me that it takes 7-10 days for them to mark a transcript as "received" once it arrives. So basically answering none of my questions while quoting something I had already read in the instructions. Useless.
Update... I sent it to them via UPS with a tracker. It's funny because a few hours after I got signature confirmation, they marked it as received. Guess they can't throw it in a pile and "lose" it if they know it's being tracked...

On the application I put the id for the mcat, but don't you still have to send it from the mcat score website to electronically send them in somehow. Or does it automatically go once you put the id in on aacomas.

Tomorrow will be one month that I submitted my primary and it is still in the "verifying" stage. Is it supposed to take this long?

How can I tell if my MCAT has been verified or not?

I have selected 10 programs to apply to, but only 2 of them are showing as ready to submit. I know my transcripts are in the process of being sent, so they aren't there yet. I also know my MCAT score isn't confirmed yet. I'm just wondering why I can pay/submit my application to two schools, but not to the other 8?

Hi! I just sent in my application via AACOMAS with transcripts, LOR, and everything already done. Does anyone know how long it took for them to hear back to make sure everything was received or how to check?

Send it via MCAT THx.

Long time lurker. Can usually search and find the answers to my questions. I am a non-trad who spent 18-25 working in restaurant kitchens. I was just going to group into one experience, but I worked at four different places so would you list them separately? I really only have one good contact I have a ton of other more pertinent jobs and experiences that I was going to list.

Group them together if you need the space, separately if you don't (IMO).

Is the PDF of the app downloadable before verification is complete or only after?

Can anyone tell me when the next cycle for AACOMAS opens up? I will be applying next year after completion of my fifth year of university. Someone told me May but I would like to confirm so I can apply on the first day if possible!

I don't think they would release a definite date this far in advance especially since they have been having obamacare style hiccups with the new application website/system. This year it was May 5th at 1:00PM EST. I'd imagine it would be near then

Any list out there of schools that have sent secondaries yet or not? Couple of schools I called said they havent started to process applications yet, and that secondaries might go out end of July...

Hey! So after you have payed for your applications, go to the "Manage My Programs" then "Program Status." There will be three arrows...and the last arrow, being the "verified arrow" is yellow. You can click on the small "i" to see the status of your documents. They have to verify ALL your documents and a check mark will appear once they have done so. I hope that makes sense!

Does anyone know if there is a way to view the AACOMAS app after you submit it? I'm filling out a secondary and the school is asking for employment hours/week. Since my hours were variable each week, I put an estimated average on AACOMAS, but can't for the life of me remember what I put. I don't want to estimate again and have the numbers from my primary and secondary not match. When I go to AACOMAS, all my experiences are grayed out with no option to view them. Any ideas? Thanks!

Go to manage programs--> Click Program status--> click on the blue box in the top right corner of each school.
It's a summary of you application sent to each school and has the details of all of your experiences.

Not sure if your question has been answered--but yes! you can add schools once you have submitted. The only reason I can think of why it is not letting you pay for it is because you have not filled in the "pre-req" section for that particular school you added! Check again and see if you have all the classes filled in. If after THAT you still cannot pay then you should definitely email or give AACOMAS a call 🙂

Has anyone had their application undelivered by AACOMAS and had to re-submit it? If so, how long did it take for them to verify from the date you re-submitted?

What would a Behavioral Neuroscience class be classified as? It comes under the Psych dept but is held with the Bio dept. aacomas refuses to answer emails

Just for clarification, what can you update once you submit your application? I haven't sent an evaluation for one of my letters, but I wanted to get the application verified. Can I still upload an evaluation request after submitting the primary application?

Yes, after you submit you can still create an evaluation request. In the AACOMAS Instructions and FAQs it gives a list of all of the changes you can make after submission, too

If anyone would be so kind as to answer my question I would really appreciate it. Does one need to have their official MCAT score released from AAMC to AACOMAS before they can be officially verified or can you be verified & marked complete without an MCAT score attached?

You can be marked as complete and verified without the MCAT score attached.

So if AACOM only counts the final attempt in GPA calculations, can you have a potentially unlimited amount of repeats for a class? If W's aren't treated like repeats, then for the sake of GPA calculations, actually failing classes and repeating is better than withdrawing and repeating?

I ask because as a very non-trad, I have a lot of fail and repeats. But the treatment of W's has me questioning my understanding of this process...

Also, I didn't realize I could label the same course from other institutions as repeat attempts. I applied very late last year and my calculated GPA was 0.5 points lower... What a game changer!

Yes, but I imagine there is a point where it will be frowned upon by the admissions committee.

Withdrawals are treated like you did not take the class for GPA calculations. This means that the effect of a F then repeat or a W then repeat have the same impact on your GPA. Ultimately, I believe a W would look better - you also are not constrained to the same class in your retake.

So you applied last year, and this year? Did you mark your repeats correctly this time?

Ah, gotcha. I was under the impression that a W would be calculated into your GPA and averaged out.

Yep, I just submitted my AACOMAS. Last year I got verified in December, and didn't realize repeats could be marked across institutions. This year, I corrected that mistake and now I have a >3.5 sGPA. Pretty optimistic about this cycle!

3 weeks still waiting for my transcripts to go from received to verified =/ is that normal? Also when viewing the applications for each school, the MCAT is listed as unofficial score, is that normal?

So I'm not sure who to contact. On aacomas my transcripts were marked complete. I checked and my MCAT was included too. My transcripts were marked complete on 7/9. Im not exactly sure when the MCAT was verified. I applied and payed for 5 schools (NYITCOM, PCOM, LECOM, Touro, and NECOM). I received an email from NECOM saying they received my application but no secondary. I emailed PCOM last night and they said they haven't received my application. I assume the others haven't as well then. What should I do about this?

Is anyone else having issues with their MCAT scores being verified? I sent mine over a month ago and it is still not up. My new score was sent yesterday but a few schools have already sent letters saying I do not meet the minimum requirement because I don't have any mcat score that has been verified.

How do I make my MCAT change from unofficial to official on my application? I sent in my scores from aamc to aacomas but haven't gotten any confirmation from either.
