In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

As I surf the SDN forums, I'm amazed at how many people post "Score Release Question" threads. Isn't that why this one is here? Come on, folks.
 that's a good point. but some people don't like sifting through all the pages in this thread (and it's not like any of us know any better than anyone else out there...it's all speculation).

As the date approaches i'm becoming somewhat scared. I dont want to open it and have a mediocre or bad score, so I feel I dont care how long it takes as long as its good news. 🙂

Got an offer from my hubby to look for me. I actually insulted him right after he offered by saying "what if you add wrong?!?!" In reality he's a very bright guy and simple addition should not be beyond his grasp... Just shows how nervous I am about this stupid thing, wanting it to turn out positively. Of course I apologized, so I guess he will be getting the first look at my score... I hope he doesn't mess with me too badly with facial expressions, etc.

   Even if he was, the the ThX system shows your total score to the right I believe, and the series code to the left. Make sure your husband doesn't read you the series code, since that could be higher or lower than your score.

Back in the day when series code 24 was out. My friend read the series code and fainted because he go a 24, then he realized that wasnt his score he had to add it up the numbers--to his surprise---he only got a 23 😱So thats a bad story sorry, but just wanted to make sure you knew there will be 2 "total" looking numbers....good luck 😀

and just for the record, i believe it is 12 days until june 7 (release date according to TPR), and 27 days until june 22 (60 days from test date).

:barf:

I had a dream last night that a letter arrived in the mail from AAMC. I opened it up and the piece of paper with the score on it just said that they never received my answer sheets even though they had a record of me taking the test.

Holy shiiit. That'd be the worst day of my life if it did happen.

I'm pretty busy at work lately... so don't have time to think about the scores... but i do care about it though... i don't wanna study MCAT again. :meanie:

What do you mean? You don't want to study 5 hours a day in the summer? I couldn't think of anything better :meanie:

Just kidding, you will be fine, you can rub your 35+ in my face later.

I'm heading to lake tahoe for the weekend. Hopefully, i won't be thinking about damn score. My brain needs a serious break ....
I hope you all have a nice weekend as well.... 😉

Today I realized I probably shouldn't check my score at work. You know. All the screaming involved.

I've already warned everyone at work, that if at some point in June I randomly storm out (or dance out with a strange look on my face) and don't return for the day that there's no need to call the cops/loony bin... I'll be back at work and back to normal the next day... 😛

I had my first MCAT-related dream last night...I got a 25 :scared: Now I need to have a good one to balance it out!

Hope you weren't expecting nice weather! I'm less than an hour from Tahoe (and lower elevation) and it's snowing like mad here!!!

haha, that actually happened to me once, with the first and only IB test I took. they lost 1/3 of the test (1 section out of 3) and had to extrapolate the score. i was soooooo mad that i didn't take any of the other IB tests i was supposed to take senior year b/c i was afraid it would happen again.

Hey everyone! 11 more days according to PR and 26 according to the AAMC. Hang in there, scores are approaching fast. 👍

I still hope we're leaning more toward the 11 side, and not the 26. My roommate took her nursing boards on Thursday, and got results back in less than 48hrs. I'm so jealous.

Good luck everyone! I know I was freaking out last year. The scores came our a bit early and I didn't know except everyone on SDN was making comments like "finally" and "about time."

I had this dream last night that the April scores came in. I got a 32, but my writing section grade was an A because one of the graders was some sort of Neo-Nazi who covered my second essay in communist propaganda. Anyway, AAMC acknowledged the problem, but like 50 of us had to retake the whole MCAT and for some reason we had to go skydiving to do so.

I'm going insane.

You sure are. Why would a Neo-Nazi promote communism?

I had the same dream last week! Except it was a 24. Won't this misery end soon?! 😕 😴

i'm back after taking a nice long break from these forums... i had a dream last night that i got a 14 on verbal. but it was really weird because they were releasing the scores one section at a time. haha that would be great though... im frikken terrified of getting a low score ... not because of the score but rather because that means i have to study for this damn thing again. i really dont want to study for it again... ive been doing a lot of carribbean reseach lately and trying to get my mind off of MCAT scores by thinking about my personal statement...

10 more days according to PR and 25 more days according to AAMC. 😱 Can't you tell I'm bored?

I had a dream that AAMC released raw scores, and I had to frantically add up and calculate my result.

oh, wow... imagine if they released raw scores before the scaled scores... the speculation of what your score translates to would be fun to watch

Has anybody asked Princeton why they think it will be June 7? I know they said this a few days after Aprill 22...just wondering. Also, someone posted on another thread that AAMC told them "2nd week of June". Any thoughts?

See some of the first posts in this list

As to why, I think they're just f-ing with our heads.

So did AAMC ALWAYS post an update around a week before scores came out? The reason why I ask is I think that's when I'm going to submit my TMDSAS/AMCAS.

Earlier in this thread, somebody posted that they were told by the aamc that there would be no update this time, the scores will just show up at some point.

Hey, we might have less than 2 weeks until our scores come out. wow.

CAN YOU FEEL THE EXCREMENT?!!

Well that's not cool. 👎 I've been good about not checking the page until someone points out that it has updated.

The weather is nice though. We were able to do a lot of outside activities. I had a great time...

Three numbers, all in double digits.

This is all I ask. 😉

I can't believe May (aka: the month of horrible waiting, the month between the month where we took the MCAT and when we get the score, purgatory) is going to turn into JUNE (aka: the month when those little numbers will change all of our lives)....

Sorry for the drama, I am just like the princess and the pea. 🙂

If I wasn't applying for Neuroscience PhD programs concurrently with applying to med school, I would be going crazy about how my score will determine for my future. If my score sucks ( a high probability) then pphhffftt --to Hello with it.

Apparently there wont be an update, but we have also heard that scores will be here June 7th, the second week (whenever the hell that really is), and 60 days...

Best bet is to start checking the AAMC website or ThX for any potential update. We will atleast know the day they arrive--they usually post the averages and data sets...fun times.

Are you going to apply to some MD/PhD programs?

I was seriously thinking of applying to MD/PhD programs, but have two reasons for not applying: 1) after talking to several doctors I decided against it. All of them told me that doctors can have their own labs etc. and have the same research opportunities as PhDs without spending the extra 4 years in school. So far I have the MS in Neuroscience. 2) Although my GPA rocks, I'm sure my MCAT sucks. I was also doing research in one of the top labs at UCSD and had the head of the Grad Bio Department on my thesis committee, while the professor I was performing research with was head of the Neurobio Department multiple times. Sounds good but..... the MCAT murdered me-- so close and yet sooooo far. 👎

There is still hope for grad school 😳

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone is selling the 1001 and 101 questions series books for the MCAT by Examkrackers? That and the Audio Osmosis CD set? Also, what's the view on the princeton books, are Kaplan and Examkrackers enough or should I get the princeton books too? Let me know your opinions and if anyone is selling the Princeton books too, Thanks.

bubabuguster, don't get so down about yourself before you see your mcat score. i've gone back and forth about the md/phd mostly because i think the MCAT is (going to be) the lowest point of my application. but after talking to some current md/phd students, i know that although most md/phd applicants have very high scores, some of that is coincidence. so unless the results in the next few weeks are worse than when i took the test last august, i'm going for it.

if you have awesome research experience (which it sounds like you do), a good GPA (again, sounds like you do), and awesome letters of recommendation, don't count yourself out for the md/phd.

anywho, best of :luck: to you whatever you do end up deciding.

8 days ehhh...I want to know, but I was really starting to enjoy the ignorant bliss of the last 6 weeks...it is 3 days after I turn 21 so at least I'll be able to buy my own booze...in celebration or despair... 😉

Happy Birthday! I hope you get a nice present from AAMC!

and

23 days according to AAMC! 👎 👎 👎

Stupid question . . . why are the release dates posted on TPR and AAMC different? Any reason we are putting faith in TPR over AAMC? Don't get me wrong I would personnally like to know now but hey . . . 🙂

In order to maximize the torture of the hapless premeds.

I can't speak for everybody else... but I'm using 100% desperately wishful thinking.

So scores come out after midnight one night. Is that eastern time or what?

I'm applying for MD/PhD as well. My MCAT's gonna be suck though. I've 2+ yrs of research experience at UCSF. I've submitted a paper, dunno how it will turn up though. I'm going to AACR conference at Chicago. I dun have any graduate degree. My GPA is nearly perfect. I'll apply anyway and see how it will turn up. 😉
If i need to repeat MCAT, i'll do that in August. So far, MCAT is also the lowest point of my application.
