In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

just got hooked into this site...such a great resource. glad to see everyone is stressing equally.

had a dream last night i checked the scores and i got a 46, which i knew was somehow impossible but i figured if i didn't bring it up to the AAMC no one would notice. one can dream...

Just noticed that there are like 90+ people in the MCAT forums and thought scores may have been released early...wishful thinking I guess 🙁

Two things: yes, if you somehow reach 10k posts in the next week before scores come out, I'll close the thread. (We have to close the big ones because otherwise they get too unwieldy for the server to handle.) Second, please don't turn this thread into an AA debate, or I'll have to close it early. Seriously. acrobat and anyone else who is interested in beating the AA dead horse, you can go to the Healthcare Topics forum and do it there. Peace, love, and lots 'o luck to everyone waiting to hear. 🙂

Did you guys all take bets? I'm going with Wed. the 15th. Didn't guju say the scores were released on the 15th last year? Yeah, Wed. it is, and in the evening. Say, 8 PM. There ya go. 😎

Awesome - I had the 8th - I doubt very much I will win at this rate.
Just realized that I said Wed. but I meant Thurs. 😳 The 15th is on Thurs. So I say Thurs. the 15th, 8 PM.

Is there any chance the scores might come out earlier than the 12th!?

I hope so...

This thread reminds me of some law blogs that talk about the June 26th date that the current term ends. They all think at least two supreme court justices- Souter and Stevens will be retiring. Here everyone thinks the MCAT will be coming out at some extremely early date even though during the last April MCAT it came out exactly 60 days after at midnight. wishful thinking.

at least i'm not the only one having ridiculous dreams. i dreamt that I received my results in the mail and the breakdown was B:24 P:22 V:22......i wonder what score that correlates to 😕

So the really wierd thing is that if scores get released next week as the AAMC is sort-of saying, that would mean that I never heard back from the AAMC about my challenge to that Acid-Base question.

What do they think, I have all day to sit around and write up polite and detailed question challenges, jumping through all their little hoops of including all of the information that they ask for, etc and I never even get a "We received your challenge and you're a ******* for getting that question wrong; we were right" response.

Sorry, I'm just (re)joining the thread by posting my own "the MCAT people are mean" message.

Hmmmm, maybe I should've waited until after scores were released to say that.....

Which question did you challenge? There were two on my form that led me to think something was fishy... and not in a fresh-fish-sushi kind of way!

I had a meeting today with the Dean of Admissions at a medical school and they said that they had also heard that MCAT scores would be released Monday or Tuesday of next week, the 12th or 13th.

for some reason, reading this makes me really nervous. like, all the deans are sitting around in this room and the scores come out and they read through our names and decided then and there who is worthy. just a gut feeling. i know it's not true. but, it's just how i feel. this weekend is gonna go sooooooo slow. and if they don't come out the 12th, i sm not gonna be fun to be around... 😱

I did consistently very well on all of my diagnostics. The lowest bio score I ever got was an 11, but usually did better. But I really am worried that I didnt even get an 8 on the real one bc there was a passage that I didnt know and couldnt interpret... Im too worried!!! Physics was great, verbal always makes me feel idiotic but I do well on it every time, but the bio is really the wild card here. Im going loony, cant even sleep anymore. I wish they would come out.

It was gel electrophoresis, but at the time I knew nothinga bout it. I do now that Ive been taking biochem but at that point I had never been exposed to it. Was depressing, about 7 questions.

The acid-base neutralization problem at the end of the PS section (it was a discrete question.) I solved the problem at least twice during the exam and many times after, and none of the answer choices were correct (they seemed off by a factor of 10.)

I wasted some serious time on this question, and came up with the same result...I could swear there had to be an error in the answer choices! I have no idea what happened there either. I know I should not have wasted so much time on it, but I felt like it was too easy of a question to not get it right!

If I were the person who were in charge of posting the scores... and I found this thread... I would feel really friggin' powerful seeing so many people at my mercy 😎

I didn't get a reply from MCAT either...

Allright, I'm totally fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna mortgage the house and hire Chuck to go kick in the door, grab someone by the throat and demand the release of my 30+ score 🙄 .

Anyone else wanna contribute some venture capital to my scheme?

47 Days and counting. MCAT people said to start checking scores from day 50 on (which would be 11,12,13, etc...). Times a ticking. tick tick tick tick tick.

Regardless how everyone feels about the AA debate, it really concerns me that the mods on this site (who are wonderful and great people to keep this whole system going) goto to such extreme lengths to prevent any talk about AA. Threads are automatically closed no matter how the AA topic is brought up (and I'm sure I'll be flamed for even having the audacity to speak up about it). It's pure censorship (blah blah blah about this being a private site) and not something I like to see.

Affirmative Action. Shouldn't be discussed here as it is not related to the task at hand .... which is counting the ticks of the clock: tick tick tick tick tick 😎

I spoke to the MCAT people yesterday to confirm or deny the rumor about releasing scores on the 7th. They told me they anticipate releasing them on the 12th or 13th. He said they anticipate this, which is not a guarantee.

Sounds like the 12th-13th is becoming "unofficially official". Lots of people have gotten this response now. I'm still holding out hope for tonight just after midnight since I have June 9th in our pool... Although I'll admit the chances of that are looking pretty slim. Only 4-5 days though everybody!

I had the same problem and informed the proctors to notify AAMC. I figured I'd never heard any thing back about it though. It did cost me time since I worked it three times though.

For you guys that called aamc, did you also ask if there will be an update on Thx or will scores just show up? I'm guessing they should have an update the day of. I called a few days ago, and they also said June 12-13, but then I forgot to ask about Thx updates.

I feel like a broken record at this point, but since some of you apparently need me to repeat this for a third time, here goes:

It *is* permissible to discuss affirmative action (AA) on SDN, if you do so in the appropriate forum (Healthcare Topics) and if you do so in a way that is respectful to other users and does not involve making racist slurs. In other words, you cannot attack other posters (ex. tell them that they're *****s or worse), and you cannot make indefensible racist slurs (ex. declare that all members of a certain race are too stupid to score well on the MCAT). In case any of you are geographically challenged, you are currently in the MCAT forum. So since this is not the Healthcare Topics forum, one can logically conclude (think of this as a little VR practice in syllogisms here) that AA discussions should not be conducted in this forum. I don't know how to make the SDN policy any clearer than that. If you want to discuss AA, go to the Healthcare Topics forum. And play nice. It's that simple.

One other thing: please do not post actual MCAT test questions or answers on SDN. The AAMC does monitor this site, and they are very strict about this issue. So if you post MCAT questions and answers anyway in spite of us asking you nicely not to do it, I'll have to edit your posts to remove them. It's fine if you want to talk about test questions in general (e.g., to say that there was an acid-base question), but don't ever post the specific question, and don't say what you answered to the acid-base question.

I know everyone is anxious about scores being released next week, but it would be great if you would please cooperate with us; I hate having to delete or close people's posts and threads. :luck: to everyone.

I was personally told that there would not be updates at one point (but that was by a really b!tchy woman who I think just wanted to get me off the phone). If you go back a page or 2 in this thread, someone posted an email reply they got saying that there would be updates soon. So I think at the very least, we'll know the day of that scores will be out later that day, but possibly sooner.

As Q said, we can't post what the exact question/answers were, but as someone else mentioned, it was an acid base neutralization question. There was nothing atypical about the question itself, add a series of things, determine a concentration, very normal stuff... However, I had the same issue as previous posters where I solved it multiple times and carefully checked my work but the answer I thought was correct wasn't there. If anyone does get a response about this issue please post it.

i too did not hear back from them. i think it's a conspiracy. :meanie:

When I logged on to SDN, the first thread name I saw was "retaking the MCAT with...". So, I went on the MCAT site to see if the scores were out. I was so nervous, my hands were shaking and I could fell my heart beat. to my surprise, the scores weren't there.
