Yes, that's right folks, I'm thread happy tonight!

It pisses me off that I have been waiting 4 and a half months post-interview to hear from BU. Now since I know some people have waited EVEN longer than that, here is your space to b!tch about it. 🙂 How long have YOU been waiting?? 😛 😡 🙄

I have been waiting since November for mt. sinai. Luckily I have gotten in to a couple of places but it is nervewracking. I would be climbing the walls if I hadnt had any acceptances yet.

Well I'm going crazy right now...I never knew how terrible waiting could be.

The thing I wonder is, does it really take that long to review all our apps? I mean, up to 5-6 months post-interview? How many meetings do you really need? We bust our as$es for four years and even more and you can't get it together after, say, a month of deciding?

But I get wary of schools that decide their entire class in one big meeting. Yale does this...that's right, it's all decided within THE MEETING, in 3-4 hrs. some 700 applicants are weeded out. Too much randomness can occur.

Another thing I MUST rail against is schools not meeting their friggin' notification deadlines. How many deadlines have we met for you damn schools...it's time you return the favor!@@!$!!

My home school is non-rolling, and they don't send out their first round of acceptances for another two months and a bit. So, I've got a looong wait ahead for me. 🙁

I just wanna be a doctor! Please, why won't somebody let me be a doctor?!?! 😕

This thread may be handy when I get my decision from EVMS tomorrow. I haven't had a better interview, loved the school, match extremely well with it (a surgeon there has said he would be happy to work with me while I'm attending), loved the area (ranked high on the quality of living list), etc... Problem? Well, I kinda told them they have to find a way to give me $12,000 to $14,000 a year. I said I don't see how I can attend otherwise. I'm beginning to regret ever saying this. After having thought about it, I believe I would be willing to foot the bill no matter what the cost. I can see how this might cause me to get a rejection, and am worring I will get bad news tomorrow. Perhaps it will work in my favor. "Mr. SwampMan, we are going to offer you an acceptance and a 1/2 tuition scholarship!!!" That would be nice! I'm not going to count on it, though.

Anyway. If things don't work out tomorrow, I'll be sure to b!tch and moan! 😀 You know me!

yup, waiting to hear about anything is sooo tiring. i am just so very tired of this application process. if i don't get in anywhere, will going through this entire process again drive me crazy?

I hate this process! I don't know if I'd be able to handle it a second time! AARRGGHH!

Einstein made me wait 5 months post interview before they sent out my final decision letter. They refused to mail out a final decision until they got the "Peach" AMCAS form (the finalalized version). Why the hell did they put me through all that crap just to send out a rejection as soon as they got the final version!

they had to be sure that the grades were really that bad  😛

they were probably wondering why you applied in the first place 😀

no hard feelings, eh? I got rejected also...but at least they didn't wait for my finalized application.....

I interviewed at a school in late October, and to this day, I haven't heard a peep out of them. I wonder if they ended up using my application as toilet paper...??

😛

I beat that thingimajig. I HANDED in my secondary to the director of admissions at Yale in JULY and have heard NOTHING since!

Interviewed at MCV/VCU early october and I have heard nothing. Only that my application has been put on hold until the next acceptance date.

3 feet of snow fell overnight on Saturday. Handily beat the 1955 record of 15 inches in 24 hours. No mail yesterday and maybe not until Thursday or Friday.

😡 😡 😡
I just called BU and that secretary needs to take that stick out of her a$$!

Without giving my name, I said I interviewed over 4 months ago and I would like a status check on my app. She said acceptances went out in February and I'm still under consideration. I asked when I would hear something and she's like, "oh, April or May" PUTA!!!!! 😛

Guess I better go study for the mcats.....
🙁 🙁

I am also willing to join the club. Waitlist at three places aarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggg- I hate, truly hate this waiting game.
Dra Foxy:
I am in the same shoes as you- I don't to start studying for the MCAT or just wait to hear the final verdict.
This process is so frustrating.
I just want to scream aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

I didn't have the urge. A peaceful calm settled on me when I heard the voice at the end of the phone say, "the committee found you to be an unacceptable candidate". It was a harsh way to put it, but at least I am finished with this hellish process.

Enjoy the game, my friends! Bwa ha ha ha!

Not three feet, and not in one day, but still. Snow in mid March is never too welcome. The first day of spring is in two days!! It's just not fair!

Anyway, hang in there, Foxy! I know you'll get in somewhere! And if you ever need help with PS on the MCAT ( ), email me! 🙂

I called Sinai today again to ask about my status and once again Sinai keeps telling me there is "no decision made yet." Ahhhhhhh!!! Today is exactly six weeks post interview. How much longer will I need to wait to learn about Sinai's decision??

I really don't understand how the admissions committee works over there it is so d@mn random.

The longest wait I've heard of is 8 months post-interview. My friend interviewed at Loma Linda in October and heard nothing until June! It was a long wait but she was still thrilled to get the news and that is where she ended up going.

You know what I hate most....not getting any news-good or bad. Every day, I look through my mail hoping to see some envelope from some med school, and what do I find...absolutely nothing!! I'm a BIG girl now...I can take the heartbreaking news...stop postponing it!! Out of 17, I've only received one rejection and that was pre-interview. Where are the rest of the schools at?? I have this eerie feeling they're going to mail all their letters in a period of 2 or 3 days...ah well, I'm a tough cookie...I can handle it.

And speaking of weather, it was BUUUUtiful today. It was sunny and in the upper 70s. I did the two extremes--I went swimming and ice skating. 🙂

I'm going to have to look this up tomorrow at school.

Uhoh, does this mean I'm a nerd?!?!
