Ok... So y'all will be living in the east towers (grad students and honor students) so it is NOTHING like the "wild west"!!! The building is moderatly clean, it is secure and it is close to absolutly all of the night life in DC... Five minutes from Adams Morgan and about ten from Georgetown, a few blocks from U Street. My rent in DC is 1500 for a one bedroom... 1000 won't get you much and may get you a studio... Many people share houses, but I would really not rely on one day because 90 percent of places require a credit check and other approval, unless you pay for your rent up front... The towers is very convienient if you aren't from the area and for the first year and honestly if I wasn't from DC or if I had loans to repay and my parents weren't paying for my rent I would live there... It is not updated with granite counters and new appliances, but it works... And if you have limited resources its the best place... Hope this helps (this is coming from someone who took undergrad classes at HU, and is very familiar with the dental school and many of the students - at least 20 per year)

Don't know if you've read the email from Ms. Clarke yet but the HUCD class of 2012 is officially full! I'm looking forward to getting the database she's going to send out on Monday with all of the names and info on our future classmates. I'm so excited! I can't wait to see you all in August! I believe that we're in for a long 4 years. I just pray all of us really get along well so that we can learn to love and help each other along the way so that it'll be an enjoyable experience...and ALL of us make it to the end when we are officially DENTISTS! I know that sounds cheesey but I don't care...I want us to be tight 🙂.

There is still hope for the one lucky waitlister. There has been a slight change in the class. Over the past few months I have been dealing with some serious family issues. After talking with my family and adcoms I have decided to defer my acceptance until Fall 2009. 🙁 I was really looking forward to meeting you guys. However, I just need time to resolve these issues before matriculating into dental school. Good luck to all of you waiting to hear something. I'll see you guys in 09! Whoever gets my position in the class of 2012 please represent to the fullest!

There is still hope for the one lucky waitlister. There has been a slight change in the class. Over the past few months I have been dealing with some serious family issues. After talking with my family and adcoms I have decided to defer my acceptance until Fall 2009. 🙁 I was really looking forward to meeting you guys. However, I just need time to resolve these issues before matriculating into dental school. Good luck to all of you waiting to hear something. I'll see you guys in 09! Whoever gets my position in the class of 2012 please represent to the fullest!

Thanks Dentalishus for continuing to make me feel welcome. I had a tough time deciding on what to do. I'd love to keep in contact with everyone and contribute in anyway that I can. This time next year you guys can answer all my questions about being a D1 at Howard 🙂. Wow, the first time I see you guys ya will all be wearing D2 scrubs. Lol..I'm almost jealous!
