**Official Interview/Acceptance/Rejection Thread 2013-2014**

Sent the admissions office an email weeks ago asking that they remove my app from consideration but of course I received no response.
Officialy rejected from Howard a couple of days ago haha, I guess this is actually my last update for the cycle.

today I was officially accepted out of state alternate list!!
Accepted: OSU
Waitlisted: Buffalo
Denied: Upenn, Columbia, Uconn, UNE, Meharry, Rutgers
Under review: NYU,UDM,Marquette,tuft,temple,stony brook, howard, boston

just happy I was accepted somewhere!! Yay
 
Buffalo and rutgers rejection. No interview at either school.

So did I...but you know what? I don't care because I just got into my state school!!!! All my effort over the past several months were rewarded when I got into my #1 choice school!!! Nobody can take that joy away from me!! Because even if ANY other school made me offer right now, I will happily decline. So there was absolutely no loss for me, at least I saved the expense of traveling and hotel/car rental etc.
 
Received my rejection from UNC as well, no interview, OOS.
 
I see the rejections are really starting to roll in right now (I've received a couple this week). When do you guys think a majority of schools that held Jan interviews will start sending out acceptances? Thx.

Nothing special at all....Totally traditional applicant, 21 yrs old, no special circumstances... very fortunate to come from an extremely supportive upper middle class family (no financial disadvantages).
 
That many invites means a cure for cancer must have been somewhere on the application 🙂

What? Are you saying you got into NYU via email today? When did you get interview? I thought we weren't supposed to hear back until February sometime (I interviewed 1/17/14).

Reading your previous comments, I think we're thinking of different things. I'm scheduled to interview, you're waiting for final decision. Sorry if you almost had a heart attack =/ I got way too excited myself.

Yup, we're talking about it in the NYU-specific thread. Their admissions head is out, and we were told we wouldn't hear back until about Feb. 3rd. So yes, my heart poor lil heart was looking for answers. =)

Editing to add some help: You have one faculty interview, and that's basically it as far as them getting to know you. My interviewer put me at ease to start out with by mentioning that if you get an interview at NYU, you're basically assured of getting in...so congrats. =) My interviewer was extraordinarily nice, and I got to say a few "profound" things to make myself look smart and kind-hearted. I personally felt like I knocked it out of the park. The rest of the class was really cool. The Q&A section was very helpful, and our student guide was a very fun young lady (a D3). Most of all, the school looked exceptional. They sold it very well. Plus, most of the students live within a ~6min walk of their building, in Manhattan. Be sure to look up and see the Empire State Building. =) Good luck!

Just got an interview invite from UNLV. I called them checking on my status yesterday, and today I get this invite. Why didn't I just do that months ago? Anyways at this point I think it'll just be a waste of time and money. What do you guys think? Is it worth it to interview this late in the cycle?

You're making me want to go but I don't want to give myself false hope b/c I'm pretty sure the bottom of the wait list is the best I can expect.

It's crunch time, you can definitely make it happen!

dude, you just pulled a red hot iron out of the forge... time to strike! Why put yourself through this whole process again, wasting thousands of dollars, if you could end it within a few weeks?
 
Unlv is a pretty sweet place to be.
You will not only make new friends, but every friend you ever had will want to stay in touch cause you live in Vegas

I was going to buy a house there since it's so cheap too if I got acceptee

i just got an invite for pre view day at WesternU in LA, does any one know what is this about? I never heard anything from them, nor I have interviewed their. any suggestions?

Just called & scheduled it for early February. This'll be my 4th interview, let's see what happens!
