The avg age of enrollment for most dental schools according the the official guide is 24-26. Not sure where you are getting your information. How would you know what the committee member actually said?

My friend applied last year to buffalo same thing happend. He got accepted. It basically means they have a decision. Dec 1 your either going to see waitlisted, rejected , or offer made, something like that. Offer made means accepted.
Being a 26 y/o veteran, this frightens me.
I have never in my life heard that 26 is 'old' for anything ( unless you are counting in bunny years) until now. I wouldn't worry too much on the age thing. ( for instance, UNLV class of 2018's ave age is 26, 9 being over 30). BTW, nice stats and experiences.

Wow! I got into all the schools that I applied to! Even the ones that rejected me changed their mind! And I didn't even have to do a single interview!

For health professions, the older the better. The more mature u look in the interview, the better. If u have kids, even better. They know they don't have to deal with tons of crap with u because all u need to have your life complete is your profession- everything else is taken care off. So for all of u >26, i'm 28 and got 8 interviews! Cheers!
Not true at all. There are a few schools that do not like older students. However, if you have an additional degree with your bachelors, the age stigma goes away. If two applicants differ only by age, most committees will accept the younger applicant if they had to choose one.
I don't agree with that, but u make a good point, it all depends on the school. At least east coast schools are not like that. I can't speak for the rest of the country tho!
One of my teachers remembered me from Freshman year! I'm FB friends with some of my old professors so it was pretty easy getting letters. If you didn't got to class or show up to office hours, then you may be screwed and a committee letter will probably be your best option.

Ouch that hurt lol no one has ever called me old before lol but I'm just graduating now because I came from another country and had to start college really late. But I guess u have to take a couple of classes and use those professors for ur recommendations!

I'm in school now. I was in the Marine Corps before school. It's common to marry young and have kids young in the military.
I went back to school. So I have two letters from dentist that I have worked with as a dental assistant (7+ years now). I also got a letter from my physics professor whom I took four straight semesters with and eventually worked for as a TA. My last one was from my PI.
Just keep hitting that bong until Monday.

Theoretically I would have been the first since I live 10 minutes from Nova. But since I changed my address to my school address and I'm still home for Thanksgiving break I won't know until tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
