I really hope so. It's easy to have confidence for others Mr. high GPA and DAT. But I find it much harder for myself. Anyone feel the same?

You can always take solace in the fact that you're not a Canadian.
 
Got a rejection letter from ASDOH 9/5 and invitation from NYU for 10/18! Pretty stoked on the NYU invite, but worried about the absent response from UNLV? Please someone give me some info with that! I sent my applications 7/3, but I guess they got who they wanted...

Yep, I see what you're saying. But, your DAT is great. Mine is not quite as high, but I've been blessed with several pre-December interviews. 🙂 Seems you have interviews too!

Applying to dental school is stressful because we are always measuring ourselves against "perfect applicant" measuring sticks like Rlow. Also if we are on this site we frequent predents.com which is also skewed upward.

I have chosen to take the approach, "I will make it in somewhere, that's all that matters." Calmed me down a ton!

BTW congrats to all those with interviews. 👍

👍 yay to good attitudes! from the beginning i've been telling myself all i need is one interview and i have a shot! you'll get in somewhere :luck:

i try to tell myself that too, but in the back of my mind a little voice nags at me saying: what if somethign goes wrong thougH? What if my LORs from profs aren't very good, what if my Personal Statement's not as good as other people's, what if I'm rejected because of a frustrated reviewing committee?

As much as I know that it's useless to stress out, it's hard not to 🙁
 
Received my first interview at UTHSC in San Antonio TX on the 27th! hopefully more to follow soon.
 
I got an invite on Thursday to OSU for October 16th too 🙂 To everyone with invites, I'll see you there!

Darkwalk, I got my first rejection from Case this weekend too. I applied to 25 schools and that is the only response I have received. Hopefully we will all hear good news this week. You asked if you should call and ask about the weakness in your application, I am going to do that on Monday morning. I think it might be the GPA cutoff that someone mentioned. I have a good DAT score but poor undergrad GPA.

good luck Jenna2010!!! I have low GPA/High DAT, and I just got an interview at UTHSC San Antonio. So, don't worry, I am sure, you will get one too.

what letter does your last name start with cgurries? I have really similar stats and live in Reno also. I'm wondering if they invite alphabetically to give myself justification for not hearing from UoP yet.

Stats

My first DAT i took was in Sept aa/ts/pa was 18/19/18
But then a couple weeks ago I took it again and got 20/21/20

Whats strange about the retake and my interviews is the fact that I do not think the schools have received the retake scores yet. The scores are not showing up on my aadsas yet.

My science gpa is 3.44 and non-science is 3.59

06/20/2010 was application complete date
07/16/2010 was mailing date
 
I was so excited to get an email with B and U in capital letters, but it turned out to be just a continuing review from UB 🙁

my UB is still "Received/Under Review" but it is still 8/25 date

When was your application 100% complete and mailed out from AADSAS ? I'm also waiting to hear back from case :scared:

Did you ever get a confirmation of Pitt receiving your app and check? Any update on AADSAS? I have none of the above and applied mid-August.

Hey toothfairy, I submitted July 7th, mailing day July 23rd, BUT letters of rec really held me back (even though I asked for them early february) and the last one was received on 8/25 :-(. That said, Case had me received/under review since 8/02.

I called to ask why I was denied. That staff member was very nice and looked at my file. He said there is nothing for me to improve on. I had a poor undergrad GPA and did a master's degree (very high GPA) but they look at cumulative GPA, so it wasn't enough to be competitive. I hope your outcome is better than mine.

sent my app in on july 30 got a confirmation email on aug 6th and interview invite today
 
Congrats to everyone, especially you pitt interviewees... thats prob my #1 choice
 
Just got an interview at Temple via email.... Wahoo 2 in one day! 😀
