USC INVITE TODAY 2nd invite I am so EXCITED except I am OOS and all the way in NYC and the october dates are too close to my uconn interview and the sept dates are so soon..ugh time to rush plan and book some airline tickets...

ANYWAY I AM SO EXCITED.

MAIL date: Aug 6th.

Does this mean I didn't qualify for an interview and that my application is held for continuing review? Anyone else get the snail from USC? Just wondering because people with lower stats than I have received interviews. Any thoughts?

no i got the same letter and got an email invite today.

Haha, I feel you. My phone is set to check email every 15 mins and all I keep getting is Ad's. Somehow, I even got an email from Bob Villa (WTH??). I have been unsubscribing from all ad emails as they come because they are driving me crazy.

My goal for next week is to not check my email or SDN except at night...:laugh:

Weird. What was funny is the letter went through the average statistics of last cycles accepted students: 3.2 OGPA, 3.2 ScGPA, 19AA, 19TS, 20PA with 100% of accepted students being with a bachelor's degree.

I think what may have happened is since my new DAT scores were updated late august, my application was considered with my old DAT scores. I think I am going to call the office on Monday and see what they recommend. Interesting. 😕

Those stats from last year give me hope. Hopefully we both get interviews very soon!

Really??? I guess 6 interviews really isn't enough. If I had 6 interviews I'd be ecstatic, not wondering why I haven't got more. But hey, I guess we all have different expectations.

Maybe if I had more than 1 interview I'd feel different, Give me some of your interviews!!!

This is almost as bad as the "do you think my 3.9 gpa and 28 DAT is good enough" posts that people make
 
Yayy first invite today..status change on aadsas uconn interview invite...not sure if I am suppose to call to schedule or wait for an email or mail..anyone knows.

Didn't realize this until today, but my Maryland status on AADSAS changed to Received/Under Review yesterday. No email from the admissions office, though.
 
Hey, I just saw that my AADSAS status changed to invited for interview for VCU. I am wondering if they send you something via email with dates or if I need to call....Anyone who has been invited if you can let me know what you did! Thanks!🙂
 
Just checked AADSAS and I was rejected my Loma Linda University yesterday. I feel really angry, but then again Im not SDA. Statistically my religion is represented by only 1 student in their entering classes, so should I be shocked?

Then again, my application statements were pretty awesome, so I feel like they should have at least interviewed me. Now I feel like somethings wrong with my application.

one guy on the USC thread said that he got the same later, but then got an interview a few days later? I dont know if he's telling the truth, but yeah....
 
Are those who received BU interview invites in state? On AADSAS, my application was sent 7/6 and BU has had my status as Received/Under Review since 7/15. I've had invites from Temple, Maryland, Pitt, and Marquette so far and I just sent a secondary into WVU. Let me know, thanks!

take a chill pill. stay positive and hope for the best with the rest! you can never foresee how the adcomm will judge your PS and activities so no one should ever feel entitled to an interview. just my two cents

I've like to know as well. I thought BU was one of the slower schools like Tufts, so I was surprised to hear people already got interview invites from BU. Actually, I don't even have a status update on AADSAS from BU, though I did get emails from them confirming that they received my application & that had I paid my fee.

Stay positive! Don't give up just yet. You have awesome DAT scores and your post-bacc GPA is incredible. I sincerely hope your remaining schools can see those aspects of your application.

I want to cancel my UNLV one as tuition there is outrageous $147,000 in tuition fees and cost of living, therefore it is my last choice.

I want to either reschedule or cancel interview at U Penn as its not in my top 5 even, but unsure what to do? 😕

What would you guys do if you were I? And if you would decline them how would you go about it?

you have 8 interviews...youll get into one of those so if you kno yo ureally dont wanna go to UNLV i wouldnt interview there...unless i wanted an excuse to go to vegas :X

I got that letter today, which was postmarked the 14th but i was invited for an interview yesterday.

So it's Saturday, and I usually take a break from the hype and anticipation from checking AADSAS and my email.... when I got a letter from UPenn for an interview! Woot woot! Hopefully I can schedule for a pre-dec interview :xf:

Question: I received a letter a few weeks ago saying my app was complete. But today, they said they're missing my transcript from AADSAS?? What's with that?

Update/Edit: I don't know the postmark dates, but the letters are dated. The app complete letter is dated 9.3.2010, and the interview letter is dated 9.10.2010. Hope that helps.

Just got a "Application has gone through pre-liminary review and will be held til August" from USC.

Ah well, I guess thats a rejection. Sigh🙁

Same here. Got the letter today, which was postmarked the 14th, but I got the interview invite email on Friday. JBieber, did you get a confirmation email from USC after you scheduled your interview? I scheduled my interview through the phone and never got any confirmation email or anything. I was just surprised and kind of worried to recieve the continuing review letter today even though I already scheduled an interview...

$147k per year or total? If you think $147,000 for 4 years is bad you may want to do some research on tuition

I just checked and their out of state is $65,162 per year which is high but not much higher than Louisville $50,826 + $7,000 equipment rental

Your $147,000 would actually be an ideal number for an OOS school
 
In order to see actual cost you have to go to financial aid tab and then click calculate cost of attendance. then select 2010-2011 and Out of State, off campus housing and wala it pops up the tuition is 98K and the books and fees are in with living expenses and other fees. They didn't change the other screen because they knew that people wouldn't dig further. So they could get people to there school for interviews. the total cost of attendance is $147K per year!!!!! No way I wanna pay that, it's the highest in the nation for any program!
 
I was in the first mailing. I have O.K. stats 20AA, 21TS, and 24PAT. I have a 3.63 Overall GPA and 3.58 Science. I have worked for an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery group for 2.5 yrs now though, and have a lot of extras!

I got a VCU interview invite via AADSAS on 9/17... they'll probably send the email/letter tomorrow (Monday) or sometime this week I would guess 😀

Darn UB! According to AADSAS, they haven't updated for about 3 weeks and they still don't have my DAT scores...even though the scores have been available online for over a month! 😕🙁😕

Have you tried calling them to check for any updates/problems?
 
Yeah. Basically the lady on the phone said "you'll receive an email confirmation once we get your scores." I told her it's been available online and she said the same thing, that I needed to wait because once the scores are received and processed, they'll send me an email. Hopefully, nothing's wrong! :luck:

wow hopeful, when did you take the dat? do you mean that aadsas was updated over a month ago with your scores and buffalo doesnt have them? how about other schools you applied too, did they get them? thanks ahead of time.

No, no confirmation email. Were we supposed to get one? I did remember them saying that we'll be receiving a packet in the mail shortly...
 
I see some people got letters from USC recently about continuing review through august. Is that the same as the application complete letter (telling you to check status online)? Or is this a different letter just updating you that you were passed over for interviews for now? Just curious because I got a letter over a month ago (don't remember if it said review until august) which said application complete.

its a separate letter. it does not mean they didnt like your app and theyre going to review your application again later. I got an interview and then got that letter two days after my interview invite
 
Got that usc letter today - postmarked the 16th - still no interview though.

It looks to me like everyone is getting the same letter though. They can't possibly be interviewing all of us... I am screwed.
